Was watching one of those sort of horridly-fascinating shows last night on TV that is about hoarders, except this one is about pet hoarders. They visited a couple's house who had 24 cats. The vet who was talking to the couple and she went into the room where the catboxes were, and commented on the smell, and she had handheld meter that she set down on the floor. It measured ammonia in the air.
So.... my husband's parents are hoarders and I've never been to their house but our daughter has. She's 3 years old. We have a little boy on the way and I just don't know if I want my kids going over there especially if I'm not allowed to.. Idk how bad the situation is and I know my husband is embarrassed. I've never talked to my in laws about it. They make me uncomfortable as is. I have been distant from them for the last couple months.
When I get bigger I wanna get my belly cast done I live in new hampshire were can I go to have this done. Im not sure im comfortable with my family doing it. They think it weird.

My belly cast came in the mail today. Are you guys doing that too? I thought it was a fun idea so I bought it but now I don't really know what I'm going to do with a plaster molding of my huge pregnant stomach. Any ideas?
Hi, 2 weeks ago i had a half cast put on my arm for a fractured distal radius. My concern is that the cast has now seperated at the elbow (it's like i have a cast from my elbow up and a seperate cast from my elbow down to my hand) so much so that I can now fully extend & straighten my arm.
The cast is still secure at the wrist, but do I need to have it replaced so that my elbow locks again?
Just got out of a cast (2 days ago) for a right medial mallelous fracture. It did not have to be set. Cast is off and I have the usual swelling & pain. My question is should it be turning purple/blue with lightened splotches? I have been icing & elevating (above heart) and color will subside back to 'normal' but once I'm up again, or it is hanging freely it turns severely colors and swells.
Is this normal? I was only ever xrayed and never checked for any further damage.
I tore my achilles tendon yesterday and have now got a cast i was told this would be on for 6 weeks my toes are pointing towards the floor and was told after the cast was removed they would move the foot up a bit more and put another cast on this and then do the same again a few weeks later, is this what usually happens and will i need and sort of physio afterwards. Many Thanks for any answers.
accidentally got it wet... very wet.. became itchy... and i twisted the cast.. ( fiberglass i think) the batting became bunched up.. and began making the pulse pump really hard in my hand.. hand started swelling.. i started freaking out.. and began tearing teh batting out of the cast... finally.. after i got the bunched up area out.. and everything went back to normal. i discovered the cast could come off... completely. i got reallyscared.
i put the cast back on.. and now.. well..
i have a fractured scaffoid bone in my wrist and ive been in a cast for six weeks. at four weeks they said i was healing properly and the bones had not displaced. now im at six weeks do you think this dumb cast is gonna come off?
A couple weeks ago I had ECU subsheath reconstruction surgery after traumatic injury to it. The limited literature I can find seems to indicate that 4-6 weeks in a long arm cast is required. My doctor wants to remove my cast at 3 weeks and have me start range of motion work. I'm currently still in quite a bit of pain from the surgery, and will be doing some travelling for the next few weeks.
But me I would just go to a family members and stay there for a bit. Hoarders have a weird attachment to their items.
My ortho scheduled me today for ankle surgery - ATFL ligament repair (just tightening it up) and removal of an os trigonum. He said I'll be in a "walking cast" for 6 weeks following surgery. I didn't think to ask him while I was there - does "walking cast" mean I'll be able to walk right after surgery without a period of non-weight bearing? If so, that would be awesome, but don't want to get my hopes up.
The reason for the pain-free 4 weeks could be the cast. The cast is meant to be useful for joint immobility. Six weeks is the minimum recommended period for any bone healing.
If it very much necessary to remove the cast, you may contact your surgeon and let him assess the situation.
The possible side effects of removing the cast yourself could be anything from a deformed joint to a failed reunion.
