7156294 tn?1395365917 Sorry it posted before I finished. I meant heat rash.
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is a build up of heat which results in a heat rash or if you sweat a lot, the constant moisture causes the itching and rash. I have found that cortisone creams do not work, but amazingly diaper rash cream does the trick. Of course you should consult your doctor to find out for sure.
Avatar n tn However, steroids should not be used in the groin alone without consulting your doctor since steroids alone can make the rash of jock itch much worse. If the rash is very red and itchy, especially if it has blisters at the edge, a topical steroid such as hydrocortisone can also be applied aside from the clotrimazole cream. If this persists, it would be best to see your doctor for proper management. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I had a rash that started with little red bumps all over "heat rash" area... under the breast under urms and inner thighs. went to the dermatologist..first treated it with over the counter stuff... sarna cortizone and such...than when itch got a lot worse and bumps went everywhere biopsy said alleergic reaction to some chemical?? but dont know what!! ..after 3 visits... he gave me steroids. first 5 days 60 mg and next 5 days 40 mg and so on until the last 5 days 10 mg.
Avatar f tn Other possibilities are of heat rah or sweat dermatitis. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. Also use mild soaps like Dove. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid. But they are available under prescription and should be taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Avatar n tn About a month ago, I wore an undershirt that was new from the department store without washing it. The very next day, my upper body started to itch like crazy. I went to see the dermatologist and took prescribed medicine for about three weeks. Two weeks have passed since I last took medicine, the rash is subtle, but I think it's spreading down to my lower body. I don't know what to do. I can barely see the bumps. But it itches a lot.
Avatar n tn In all probability this is an allergic reaction to something that’s in air during summer---maybe dust or pollen or animal dander, or something you eat. It can also be a heat rash even though it does not itch. Otherwise even dermatitis, and eczema can show a seasonal variation. If there is no itch, there can be no remedy for this. You need to find the cause of allergen by allergy testing. Take care!
Avatar n tn Yeah - that's exactly it a red rash! Thought it was heat rash at first but it couldn't be that consistent surely.
1726450 tn?1316282511 It sleeps with me and when I feel an itch I use it.Strange itch it moves around a lot and not always a rash. Very annoying , especially as treatment goes on and you become more irritable. Or is it just me who is becoming more irritable?????
Avatar m tn Also all these spots seem to be raised up slightly above the skin and the turn red around the edges when I get hot. I have been told heat rash before, but i thought it was localized to persistently sweaty areas and that it goes away anywhere from like 4-48 hours. Also with sun spots I always thought they went away after a good winter and you lose your tan and start again, besides sunspots definitely aren't supposed to itch, swell, and turn red.
Avatar f tn So just wondering how do you know the difference in pupp and heat rash?
1666034 tn?1316911253 I used to get a similar thing on my inner thighs and buttocks also my dr said it was heat rash but can't hurt to call or bring it up at ur next appointment
Avatar f tn No i haven't wore any different material? I thought it was a heat rash but it hasn't gone away and it itches really really bad. But I don't want to itch it because I don't want to get stretch marks! It's torture! And no I have not tried taking benadryl.
Avatar n tn for a long time now i have had red spots (or a rash) under my left breast and a little bit under my right breast. the rash is flat with no pus or crusting. it rarely itches and does not hurt. i have larger breasts and usually do not wear a bra unless i am going out to eat, the bar, getting my hair done, etc (i feel more comfortable with out a bra on)... any ideas on what this could be??
Avatar n tn hello for the last month or two ive had a large rash on my upper leg which wrapps itself on either side,im a carpenter so i get abit swetty on hot summers day, im 95% sure its not exma need some cream asap its very very itchy.. thought it was just heat rash but has been going on long now may need to go see doctor but abit embarrased to go,spots and rash have not spread on genitals or pubic area, creams? any idea's much appreshiated!
Avatar n tn One of the doctors said something about it being a heat rash and using benadryl cream for the itch. How can heat rash be prevented? Does suntan lotion help? This discussion is related to tiny little red itchy bumps.
Avatar m tn i have been having these rashes that appear out of no where on my arms face nd neck it comes on like a hot burning feeling then it turns into a perfect tiny circle no pus it doesnt itch or anything then it goes away within a day i have not been taking any new medicines or using any new soaps i went to the dermatologist they do not know what it is anyone know what this could be?
Avatar n tn Most often, heat rash goes away on its own. Severe forms of heat rash may need medical care, but the best way to relieve symptoms is to cool your skin and prevent sweating. Keep the affected area dry. Dusting powder may be used to increase comfort.
Avatar n tn i,m week 7 after exposure and just as im coming to terms with the no risk scenario i develope a rash(like a heat rash, not raised but redness from capilaries under the skin that itches). i have it on sides of neck, across top of chest and on lower arms...its there for half the day then goes...next day back...then goes again...never had this before...is this how the hiv rash works?
Avatar n tn this can be a sign of a plant rash, or enviromental rash.
Avatar n tn Ok something else I don't understand is I don't experience itching with my jock itch. Just heat from the rash. Is this normal? Will rubbing alcohol eventually remove the rash?
Avatar f tn Yes, I have the rash and itch and use Hydroxyzine for it. I made the mistake of being in the sun and heat (70s) for about 30-45 minutes in April and the rash and itching went wild. I took Hydroxyzine and used clobetesol solution and this calmed the rash and itching. By the following day it was back to "normal" ie fairly well controlled as long as I take Hydroxyzine 50 mg every 6 hours.
Avatar n tn it sounds like it could be 'prickly heat' rash - does it itch and sting - you could try using a very high spf-sun cream - that calmed my heat rash down a lot. of course with all the tick bites you have had there is a possibility of lyme - do you have other symptoms as patsy 10 suggested - a visit to the doc.
Avatar f tn s over it will often itch as the legs are unused to all that stuff in the air. Kind of like prickly heat. But I don't know why it would be happening now and not before. A way to find this out is to take a cold shower and see if you still itch afterward.
