Avatar f tn My doctor just prescribed me Prilosec for my heartburn. Has anyone else taken this? Im just a little worried to take medication while pregnant .
Avatar f tn As far as I know if you're breastfeeding its pretty much the same medicine thats ok for pregnancy. I know you can still breastfeed if you have a cold and it shouldn't hurt baby.
Avatar f tn I'm 19 weeks and 5 days pregnant, and I'm having some Hella bad migraines. I also have terrible sinuses, heartburn and I've been physically sick alot, with a fever and what not. I'm allergic to acetmenaphin(tylenol) which is supposedly the only thing I can take while pregnant. My doctor refuses to write me prescriptions for anything else and tells me to deal with it and there's nothing else like aspirin that I can take. She's very rude.
Avatar f tn You can also take Pepcid AC works in 30 min lasts all day. We give it to expectant mother's and while breastfeeding. If it persistent I'd make an appointment with a Gastroenterologist.
Avatar f tn I don't think so. Crackers and ginger...I survived off of Canada Dry ginger ale for awhile. Sounds like morning sickness, it should pass after the first trimester, but if it's horrible you might see your doctor for a prescription that's safe during pregancy.
Avatar f tn Is Motrin ok to take while breastfeeding , I'm n pain && I don't wanna take the prescribed medicine.
Avatar f tn Yup completely safe. They give the same stuff after you deliver for pain medication too and it's completely safe for breastfeeding too.
Avatar n tn Since the attack I quit smoking and have been taking these drugs, but have been unwell almost everyday, suffering heartburn or chest contractions or some other stomach or chest pains or depression. As the months pass by I began to suspect and now believe that these problems are side effects of the drugs. I visited many doctors and had various checks and echos and analysis and was told that I am ok and was advised not to take alternative medicines!
Avatar n tn Found the box, its called Cipramil. Safe to take while pregnant. I was on aprazolam then they switched me to cipramil for my anxiety. My doc said apraz & xanex werent safe while preg or breastfeeding. But this stuff is.
280369 tn?1316702041 As far as the period while breastfeeding I don't know. I didn't have a cycle the entire time I nursed my first and then with my second it started immediately after the first month like clockwork while exclusively nursing. With the pumping thing, I would guess that it was most likely affected by being sick. Just keep drinking plenty of fluids and eating well. Good luck.
384896 tn?1335294331 The american college of obstetrics and gynecology recommends progestin only birth control while breastfeeding such as depo provera and minipills. Progestin birth control may actually increase your milk supply where as birth control pills containing estrogen have been shown to reduce your supply of breast milk so try to avoid those. So, stay away from those. Another option is LAM, lactional amenorrhea method: Breastfeeding doesn't have to be a hindrance to birth control.
1399033 tn?1449587779 I talked to one of the other mums. She took anxiety medication while pregnant and breastfeeding. Now Her daughter has speech delay, she lacks the ability to feel. She totally can't feel pain, cold, hunger, sadness, heat....nothing. They've been to hospital many many many many times. The mother says her doctor kept giving her the medication, claiming it wouldn't harm the baby. Even while breastfeeding, she was told it was ok.
Avatar n tn Well I'm having the same issue as you. I take the over the counter Zantac medicine and it worked for a while but now it's so severe that it's not working for me anymore. So I'm gonna ask my doctor to prescribe me something.
Avatar f tn I drink milk. I always have heartburn and that's the only thing that seems to help me. Medicine never helps so ill drink a small glass of milk.
Avatar f tn Milk helps me with heartburn
Avatar f tn You can take tums or mylanta (preferably sodium free). Hope this helps.

Avatar n tn I know what you mean about not wanting to take medicine while breastfeeding, I too do not like taking medicine while breastfeeding - which meant I went a LONG time without many meds (except my thyroid med). Are you involved in any breastfeeding groups? What area do you live in if you don't mind me asking?

7552207 tn?1427020403 I stopped all my medication during my pregnancy just because there is no 100% safe medicine to take while pregnant. And for the most part I can cope with my ADHD, but my depression is absolutely terrible...so my question: After baby is here, will I be able to take my depression medicine and breast feed? I have my heart set on breast feeding and I feel selfish if I cant just because of my own reasons...
