Avoid caffeine, spicy
foods, acidic
foods (such as citrus fruits, tomatoes, vinegar based sauces, etc.), reduce or elminate carbonated beverages (the carbonation can make heartburn/acid reflux worse even if they don't contain caffeine). Chocolate can also aggravate acid reflux. Some people also find that peppermint aggravates their acid reflux, but others find that it soothes their stomachs. I, personally, find that I can tolerate spearmint much better than peppermint.
