Shower runnin to help clear me out. The heartburn, they gave me a prescription bc i have gerd too so the heartburn and nausea was horrible! Just talk to the doc and maybe they can help ya more! Hope you feel better!
The days following up until today (Sunday), My throat has been hoarse, I keep needing to clear my throat and now today my throat is sore. Can acid reflux be causing all of this? If so are H2 meds like Pepcid and Zantac ok, or are PPI meds like Prilosec and Prevacid better? Thanks and have a great day!
I've had a sore throat for three months with no other symptoms. In April, I went to Urgent Care, because it felt like my throat was on fire it was so unbelievably sore. After being tested I was told that I thankfully do not have strep throat. She prescribed me medication called Loratadine, which I began taking once a day and suggested taking a Benadryl every night before bed.
If you think it's caused by heartburn then try sleeping at a more inclined position. Add more pillows or sleep in a recliner or on the couch if you can. With my son the last few weeks of my pregnancy we stayed with my inlaws because the only way I could get some sleep was in my fil recliner. But deff don't take over the counter meds for something that it's not going to cure anyways. And NyQuil is on my no no list of meds from my dr.

I have had heartburn for roughly a year and a half. I recently moved to the middle east and it has gotten alot worse. I had heartburn once for over a week. I'm always going to the hospital here. I recently had an endoscopy done and they found a large hiatel hernia. I was giving Nexium and told that should do the trick. I don't really get the heartburn that frequently but my throat is always sore, possibly from the acid reflux?
I had something similiar last year pre-dx. Throat was constantly sore and I'd lose my voice occasionally. Doc said it was GERD and I have to take 80mg Prilosec 2x/day.
After I was dx, I mentioned it to my GI, because I've never had heartburn or acid reflux before. He said it probably was related to or excaberated by the HCV.
Maybe its just acid reflux from the interferon and riba?
hello there. i was wondering if anyone could suggest me something about my problem. 2 and a half months ago i started having a sore throat which usually feels dry, burning or scratchy. at the same time i started to experience heartburn which i never had before, also cough mostly when i was lying down. otolaryngologist said i have pharyngitis but none of the medication that i tried for it helped and i tried pretty much all the possible stuff.

I have a very similar problem to yours. I am/was a singer 4 years ago and gave it up when I started experiencing a sore throat. Gastroenterologist diagnosed that I had GERD ( Reflux Disorder) and had caused a mild esophegheal errosion that was caused through a sliding Hiatus Hernia. My teeth,gums and voice also became affected by the acid reflux.
Watch your diet carefully, cut out fatty foods completely, coffee,chocolates, cigarettes & alcohol a definite NO NO!!
I have a heartburn sensation in the center of my heart and it is increasing when i move my chest.I taught it would be heart problem and I went to cardilologist he told me it is muscular friction something like that and i have reflex problem too but not severe and i told him about that then he prescribed me to take "zinirab-dsr" tablet for 15 days.I took that but still i feel not comfortable.I have this problem for more than 2 years.
It started last December 2013 around Christmas and has since progressed to include sore throat, NO TROUBLE SWALLOWING, NO HEARTBURN, NO HOARSENESS OF VOICE. Then today, after 1 month of throat tightness and sore throat, I went to see an ENT dr, he scoped my nose and throat and said there was swelling and redness, after knowing about my reflux esophagitis, he told me it was LPR.
Now I am confused, how come the LPR is only starting now and not 2 months ago together with my reflux esophagitis?
So now I do get frequent sore throat and this is only the last month from heartburn I think.. as I also suffer from Rhinitis and hayfever.
My doctor suspects I have GERD.
I also notice that when I am stressed it gets worse and when I do exercise..which is a bummer as I love to keep active. SO I cant do situps as that upsets my stomach too.
I have only taken TUms and refuse to go on medications ....so is Maalox or Pepto bismal good?
Do you normally have a lot of heartburn? The reason I ask is that I had heartburn all the time and got the same feeling in my throat that you describe. I had an endoscopy and they found I had an esophageal stricture. He stretched it while he was in there. It felt like I had a lump in my throat all the time and my chest hurt through to my back. Hope this helps.
After two months of mononucleosis, I got symptoms suggestive of indigestion (after heavy meals, pain moving around my stomach). I noticed increased burping throughout the previous month. I did an abdominal ultrasound - nothing out of the ordinary. After 10 days of stomach pain/gas/bloating/burping despite a GERD-compliant diet, my GP prescribed PPIs (once daily) and enzymes.
ll still burp a lot and have some refluxes. Now i am lossing appetite and weight. And also, I have slowly developed sore throat. Any advice what's going on now? Is what I'm experiencing GERD or LPR? I don't experience any heartburn.
Does anyone knows if I can ever recover from this? If so, how long will it take? It's really depressing because I can't eat like I used to.
