This thins mucus so that it *will* drain, also allowing the throat more moisture. I have also come across mention of people using guaifenesin in their treatment of fibromyalgia (https://www.drugs.com/comments/guaifenesin/for-fibromyalgia.html). Before I was ever diagnosed with fibromyalgia I noticed a decrease in pain that I was experiencing, so although I'm skeptical about the connection, I certainly won't discredit the possibility.
Can Fibromyalgia affect eye sight? My mother has fibromyalgia and is complaining that her eye sight is blurry and eyes feel strained. Closing her eyes make them feel better. We have had her eyes examined and we are told everything is fine.

I don't think I'll ever know for sure whether I have Lyme or not! I have been working with a Lyme literate doctor at the Breakspear clinic just north of London, this is where I got the Igenex testing done. Unfortunately her services are very expensive and I very much doubt there are any Lyme doctors on the NHS. I will be seeking her advice again on Tuesday now that the results are back.

I just read your query about the guaifenesin protocol. I did extensive research on this protocol and have read both the original and revised versions to the book. I did do the protocol for 2 months but had to stop so my doctors could R/O other conditions since my ANA was found to be +. During Tx though I did recruit and teach my PT to map me so I had some documented solid proof as to if this protocol was true to its nature to discern for myself whether or not what Dr. St.
The commonest cause for COPD is smoking. Treatment is usually symptomatic. Antibiotics for infections and bronchodilators for bronchospasm. And of course avoidance of smoking to prevent further damage to the lungs. If the inhalers are inadequate consult your doctor for alternate ones. Talk to your GP regarding this in the meantime you could try warm salt water gargles, steam inhalations and breathing exercises.

t even believe in the disease. I stopped seeking medical treatment for any of my medical issues after that and basically told myself it was all in my head. I know now more than ever it's not, these pains and things are most definitely there and I'm concerned about it. Being a new mom I want to be 100% available for my daughters needs. I'm sorry this is so long and Thank any of you who had the patience to read it and are willing to give me some feedback.

any ways i've read that robitussin (guaifenesin), you should buy the plain one with no letters after it... robitussin can help loosen up cervical mucus...

Guaifenesin, how much is an Overdose? My daughter 11 years old 100 lbs (big for her age), took (the correct dose) 5mL cough and cold medicine that had the following in that dose. Guaifenesin, USP 100 mg, Dextromethorpan HBr, USP 10 mL. Phenylephedrine HCI, USB 5mg. But then she also took (the correct dose) 10 mg of a prescription medicine Guaifenesin-Codeine syrup (generic for Robitussin AC syrup). It doesn't state on the label the quantity of Guaifenesin mg in the 5mL dose.
One side effect of Mucolytics is bronchospasm and is therefore contraindicated for asthma patients. Guaifenesin, aka Robitussin, is an expectorant, and should be safe for asthma patients as long as is it is taken as directed. I am a nursing student and this is what I have learned on the subject so far. I stumbled on this question while I was researching the subject.
I just started taking clomid and i read to start the guaifenesin on day 10 till ovulation. On a website for fertility i read that you need to take 200mg three times a day!
But the fact is that this expectorant is used to loosen and thin mucus of a different kind too, called cervical mucus, in women. Robitussin is only a specific brand and any expectorant that contains guaifenesin as the only active ingredient can be used in its place. Generic versions are most likely available as well. Be sure to carefully inspect the ingredients list to make sure the ONLY active ingredient as guaifenesin. Any other ingredients can diminish the effect you are looking for.
yes, well sort of. It's Guaifenesin an ingredient found in cough meds. You can usually find a store brand of robitussin that has only Guaifenesin in it. The ingredient is made to break up mucus, but if taken while you ovulate it can make your CM more compatible with sperm.
hi. you might get more help if this wasnt posted in the dental forum. my mom just started taking cymbalta its an antidepressant but it seems to help her pain. i am not sure if its been approved for fibromyalgia but her dr had read a few articles about how it might help so he told the insurance company it was for depression caused by her pain so they would be sure to cover it. if your current dr isnt up to date with treatment options i would go to someone else. good luck!
Quite high and warrants treatment if it [treatment] will make you feel better cos wellness is ultimate. I will go for test to determine my baseline and start treatment (entecavir or TNF). If treatment does not yield result after 3 or 6 months, I'll stop. Most of us have strings of malaria in this part of the world (Nigeria) and we rarely even complain.
Who else had taken this med for cough? Is it safe? Pls let me know.
