Avatar n tn We were in the ER the other day and the NP asked if she had been tested for diabetes. Since she had not, she did an A1C test with a result of 6.1 I have since tested her blood sugar and it was 115 fasting this morning. It was 115 before supper last night. It went up to 185 1 1/2 hours after pizza and dr. pepper for supper and small piece of cake. Is this common with hypothyroidism, is this pre-diabetes and should we do more than just repeat the A1C in 2 months as suggested.
Avatar n tn TSH 2.19 nl /0.4-4.5/ T4 0.9 nl /0.8-1.8/ T3 2.6 nl /2.3-4.2/ What do you think about this, do you think I should take additional testing, do I have Hashimoto? I'm reminding you my previous post. Thank you very much. I was diagnosed 7 years ago, I had De Quervain's thyroitdis. Back then I can a TSH of 0.003 (Norm 0.490-4.670) after a few months the TSH rose up to 4.70. I went to a doctor and he perscribed me Levothroid 50mg tab. I took this medicine for two years, the TSH was 1.

Avatar f tn What is the normal range result for glucose challenge test with 75 grams glucose load (with fasting)? I had a test last April 9, 2012 and result is 81.19 mg/dl. Is this within normal or I am nearing being diabetic? Please help. Thanks much and God bless.
Avatar f tn There are no tests market or sold to give a conclusive negative test result earlier than 3 months which is the window period. You don't have HIV and have a conclusive test result.
Avatar f tn t provide very much information, but I do have some questions regarding a stand-alone ACTH test that I just did. Namely, my result says <5 with range as 0-46 . Is this how ACTH is usually measured, as a "less than" number. It just seemed odd. Also, can I trust this lab to rule out pituitary involvement if it was taken fasting at approximately 9am and drawn into a chilled tube?
Avatar f tn i just got my lab test result yesterday, i was diagnosed hepatitis b positive but non infectious since 2004. can any body explain my laboratory test. i want to work abroad, can i pass in medical exam? thank you SGOT 27 u/l  SGPT 26 u/l  HBeAG 0.300 NONREACTIVE  ANTI-HBc 0.005 REACTIVE  ANTI-HBs 2.00 iu/l NONREACTIVE  ANTI-HCV 0.276 NONREACTIVE  HBsAG 2,654.
Avatar m tn What the test check is to see how much Glucose is stuck to your red blood cells. if you have too much glucose stuck to your cells it means your BG is too high. the test is an average of the last 3 months as that is how long red blood cells live.
Avatar f tn Did anybody else have to get the three hour glucose test done? If so did your doctor also tell you not to eat anything for 12 hours? Just wondering, can they legally make you get the three hour test done? Cause they said I was only a little bit either high or low, I can't remember but I know it wasn't that bad. So I'm wondering what would happen if I just didn't get it done.
Avatar m tn My Test Results shows 9,822,742 IU/ml Result with HCV RNA Viral Load detection limit: 25 - 391,000,000 IU/mL. what this mean please?
Avatar n tn Dear Dr Hansfield I thank you for taking the time to reply to my question. As a general comment, I think that the problem is that various websites (including those run by other medical professionals, as well as counsellors/educators) seem to take the stance that only no sex is no risk (so they would classify any thing as 'low risk but not no risk'), and that any test taken before 3 months means little or nothing...
10219953 tn?1426171839 Till I get a call from internal medicine that my 3rd blood result was abnormally low. My blood sugar was at 124 and it dropped to 36. They were calling to check on me to make sure I had gotten home okay and was have an okay evening. Well I told the dr. That after my last blood draw I was feeling tired and very sweaty but I took it as I was hungry since I had been fasting since 745 the night before.
Avatar m tn i d try to have this test sooner if possible because these phases of low replication can last long or short periods or life and virus can be cleared easily on periods of low hbsag/low replication
Avatar n tn How much the sugar varies from before meal to after meal seems to be the issue here. The glucose tolerance test is the correct test to see how your body reacts to high levels of carbohydrates. It does sound to me as if you perhaps vary more than is ideal, for a low of 57 or high of 256 is something that even diabetics try to avoid.
Avatar m tn forget to go for test after breakfast ...so .went 4 random test 2 hours after lunch.....the result is 104mg/dl... whats ur take???? pre diabetic ?? fyi ....my father is diabetic...
869568 tn?1248372915 Hello. I had my 1 hour glucose test completed this morning. The range (I'm told) is 70-139. My result was 139. I see the doctor next week and I'm guessing she'll have me do the 3 hour test since I'm at the cut off. Has anyone else had to do the 3 hour test? What is it like?
Avatar f tn I am not sure why, but my Doc took me ACTH Stimulation test of 45 Min. As you can see in my test result, my ACTH level, Cortisol level was normal before stimulation. But my 17 OHP was high. And after ACTH Stim test, the cortisol and 17 OHP level increased. But how much they should increased, I am not sure. But apart from thses I have other symptoms like frequent period( in every 18-20 days), excess hairs on my body ( hirsutism), and hypothyriod.
Avatar m tn The difference between a fasting glucose of 101 and 106 is probably negligible. Both of your values suggest that you have impaired fasting glucose (range 100 - 125). The measurement is the same in fasting and non fasting testing - the difference is in the reference range. A normal fasting glucose is < 100 and the current thinking seems to be that even a result in the mid to high 90s might suggest close monitoring.
