Avatar f tn My partner has been trying to lose weight forever!. When I met him he was about 76 Kilos, 7 years later he is now 82. He is not very tall (5' 6'') so I guess he is about 2 stone over weight. He does not eat very much but unfortunately drinks too much. For a long time I have suspected he is 'glucose intolerant', in that even when he has carbohydrate available he goes shaky and experiences 'low' blood sugar symptoms.
Avatar f tn Glucose intolerance is when the body does not utilise the glucose in your body properly and the fasting blood glucose level is above 6.0 mmol/L or your blood glucose level is over 7.8 mmol/L 2 hours after consuming 75g of glucose. At this stage, with life style changes and exercises, you can still avoid getting diabetes. You could say it is pre diabetes. The symptoms of glucose intolerance can be those of hyperglycaemia and also tingling sensations.
Avatar m tn My Tsh came back at .49 from 1.93 where I feel great! In 15 I never had an issue! I am due to get full panel thyroid tests in 3 weeks!

1448936 tn?1363206346 My doc ordered a few more tests for me and I'm just trying to figure out what the tests might be looking for. I know they're looking for a lactose and gluten intolerance but not sure about the rest. If anyone knows what some of these are and can shed some light on them thatd be great.

1715257 tn?1308732738 The back and knee problem may be related to the drug and the body. Glucose intolerance is really sensitivity towards the glucose-sugar levels. If one actually balance the meals, glucose can be replaced with fibers containing similar materials of glucose such as stuff found in apples and pineapples. Those fruits also can cure your numbness. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn in 2007 I was diagnosed with gastritis. Since then, I have intolerance towards avocados, bananas, strawberries, tomatoes, cantalope and apples. 15 minutes after eating, I have stomach cramps, nausea and vomiting. What's happening?
Avatar n tn bacterial overgrowth was negative, lactose intolerance was negative but fructose intolerance was positive. My control number was 11 and the end number was 44...I was told anything resulting in +20 (so mine would be 31) is positive. Okay, so here are my questions...what does the 44 mean (if anything) low intolerance, high intolerance?
Avatar n tn I think you should be meeting a physician and get yourself evaluated for Glucose intolerance and hypertension check. Keep me informed if you have any queries. Bye.
Avatar m tn I would suggest that you make an appointment to see your doctor and ask if you can have a glucose intolerance test and do a HBA1C blood test. a HBA1C blood test will show the average glucose levels in the blood stream over a period of approximately 3 months. It may be that you have an insulin intolerance. This means that your pancreas is producing insulin, but this is not being used adequately by your body.
Avatar m tn I did a quick search for drug interaction and came up with the possibility that synthroid may inhibit the absorption of metformin, thereby causing hyperglycemia or glucose intolerance. You might want to talk with your doctor about separating the 2 medications for a few hours. I don't know the dosing instructions for the metformin, but maybe if you take your synthroid at, say 7:00 am, you could take the metformin around noon....... Talk to your doctor to be sure.

Avatar m tn It’s just that I am frustrated with all sorts of health problems like poor general health such as low energy, easily stressed and tired, constant need for napping/resting, glucose intolerance that makes me nap/rest to be normal again, poor sleep and the list is long. All of these and more things have been going on for more since 2006. And last year I had to drop out of university (studying health sciences) and cannot do any work.
