Avatar m tn Could it be that doing a low carb diet, made your body get the energy from the proteins and fats, and since the body didn´t get the energy from glucose, the little carbs you ate, kept on circulating in your blood? and released through urine?
Avatar n tn re having, drink enough pure water (not too much) and live a healthy life. Excercise daily and take a moderate amount of supplements. And do some detox once in a while.
1763618 tn?1315807367 To help your kidneys and blood pressure drink lots of water; no diet sodas and for sure no energy/sports drinks and fruit juices. Drinking lots of water flushes your kidneys and helps maintain blood pressure.
Avatar n tn I assume your mother had her blood work done after overnight fasting and before she ingested food or liquids onther than water. If that is true and her: (in your words) "Glucose is 180." she could have diabetes. Her next step should be to see her doctor about both the high cholesterol and the elevated glucose levels.
Avatar f tn I'm taking my glucose test on Monday and from what my Dr told me, he said I can't eat anything that's sugary but never said about drinking, I think you're allowed to drink water. I'm not sure, I'll let you know after I go to my app.
7757724 tn?1396279586 Then it stopped and I layed down and my left hand went numb and my tounge went numb. Avatar f tn My last blood work before this was in May and all was fine with glucose. They did a stress test and an ECHO and all were ok except for some mild mitral valve regurgitation and calcification. EKG in sinus rhythm was fine. Is there a reason the glucose was up due to the AFib? I have a lot of anxiety and to me this is worrisome. The nurse did not seem concerned at all and the doctors did not mention it. I am now on Coumadin 4 mg. since this is my 2nd incident. This glucose has me worried.
Avatar f tn Went for my glucose test today wasn't bad at all. I chose fruit punch and it was just like a flavored water, in a little water bottle. It was nothing like people described. Just hoping my results come back good.
Avatar m tn If you check the archives on this forum you will see a lot of discussion, and differences, about this question. But one truth in life is that there is no one size fits all rule when it comes to nutrition. As I've said before on here, for most of history people drank when they were thirsty. It seems to have worked, since we're still here.
1524673 tn?1327841500 t be left alone he freaks, seems scared of us when we do things like give him his water and food, he stands back, he never did this before. He is not scared of us at any other time except when we give him his meds, he is very leary them. He want's all of us with him and is upset if one of us is missing. Just really weird behavior. Any ideas would be appreciated!
Avatar f tn Unfortunately afib can be hard to treat and tends to come back but just do your best to avoid too much sugar and carbohydrates and drink lots of water. And ask the doctor if the reading was a false positive because you were in afib. I know cardiac enzymes can be produced during heart rhythm episodes but not sure there would be a sugar spike but I am not a doctor so I really don't know. Try not to stress if you can. Stress will only compound the issue.
Business man2 My mother-in-law had type two diabetes she was constantly hungry she would say she was just starving after she ate I would suggest increasing your water intake and that might help with the physical sensations but for the low glucose you might want to check with your doctor and see if your insulin levels are okay.
7062464 tn?1395341888 Has anyone already done the glucose test? And what are the specifics when it comes to eating?
Avatar f tn I was told to eat like I normally eat and I passed
Avatar f tn You can drink and eat now but they only want you to drink water the night before and they usually do it around 28 weeks so yours should be coming up Danielle_1994
5739386 tn?1378836460 I have mine tomorrow and ik they say don't eat after a certain time. Can I drink water? Because my mouth gets real dry.
1382889 tn?1505071193 Weird temperature feelings are common in MS. If your feet felt hot and you soaked them in cold water, that cooled them off, so it was quite a reasonable thing to do. But what if your feet just 'felt' hot? Cooling them down made the rest of you cold. Next time, try just squeezing out a wash cloth in cold water and rubbing your feet as needed. Or go barefoot indoors. The reason that MS presents differently in each patient is that we have a gazillion nerves and nerve pathways.

Avatar f tn I was told only water... Better safe then sorry!
1021834 tn?1379292300 I have an appt today with my ob/gyn at 15 wk 4 days and also will be doing the glucose test. Blech. They want me to do it early because I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes my last pregnancy. I hope everything is going ok because I still haven't gained anything and my clothes still all fit. I really don't want to flunk the glucose test, especially this early into the pregnancy.
Avatar f tn Or if your glucose level gets too low. Even getting too warm can cause it. Try and drink more water and maybe eat some healthy snacks throughout the day. I would mention it do your doctor though just so they are aware of it.
4654011 tn?1357643122 I know I asked this about a month ago, but I had forgot something haha. So do I stop eating and drinking the night before? I know water is fine, just like regular foods and stuff. I don't wanna have to retake it just because I are at 2am and my appointment is at 845.
Avatar f tn Is it okay to drink water while you are fasting for the glucose test? This is going to be a long 12hr...
