Glucosamine in jello

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine in jello

glucosamine

Avatar f tn Try using gelatin. Not flavored Jello, but gelatin. It can be found in the baking area of a grocery store. This helps with joints. You can mix it with water or a flavored beverage and drink it. As for pain relievers, you can use excedrin, motrin (which helps with inflamation as well), Ibuprofen, any of those. Aleve is one of the best.
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
Avatar n tn My dog saw a holistic vet in January for a severe ear infection, before then he was able to walk (40 min.) twice a day. He took a whole course of Baytril right before his blood test was taken and a month ago he got some antibiotic eardrop efloxacin. The vet suspected that he might have arthritis and Cushings because he was urinating more often in the evenings, had a ravenous appetite and his blood test indicated high potassium level.
1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar n tn I would certainly give him a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement. I give my dog 500mg Glucosamine plus 200mg Chondroitin, and she weighs 28lbs. She had a broken legf years ago, and very occasionally got a twinge and a slight limp. Since starting the Glucosamine....within a few days!! she did not show any discomfort at all, and has not shown signs of twinges yet. Apparently it works better alongside vitamin C.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.

675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.
442027 tn?1209866342 Hey Everyone, :) I'm too busy to wait around for my doctors office to call me after I leave my message I need to talk with them. I have to be on a liquid diet the day before surgery. What EXACTLY does CLEAR JELLO MEAN??? I've heard things about staying away from dye's and certain ones. I've been told there are DYE FREE Jello's but they have the flavors, but haven't found any yet.
1110049 tn?1409402144 Glucosamine is commonly taken in combination with chondroitin, a glycosaminoglycan derived from articular cartilage. Use of complementary therapies, including glucosamine, is common in patients with osteoarthritis, and may allow for reduced doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
Avatar m tn I take a throid pill every morning. Would glucosamine Chondrotin interfer with it?
Avatar f tn I am frequently referred to as the messiest person in the kitchen. Two of my examples are. 1. I had taken a shower and decided to make some bread when I got out. I had reached for the flour only to have the lid come off and flour fell all over my hair. If the clean up of flour off the counter and the floor wasn't enough I had to rewash my hair. Flour and water makes paste. It took me forever to get my hair clean again. 2. Just today I made another mess.
441382 tn?1452810569 Ginger, thanks so much for your quick response! I am going to send DH off tomorrow in search of tablets that only contain glucosamine/chondroitin. His knees are really hurting him, as well, so both he and Kate will be on it as soon as he finds what we're looking for. I hope it works as quickly for my little family as it did for yours! Thanks again!
Avatar f tn Her weight was 30lbs so the dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine and 200 of Chondroitin (combined in one capsule once daily with food.) For a 47lb dog you would probably be looking at between 500mg (Glucosamine) and 700mg, and Chondroitin between 200mg and 300.
Avatar n tn To start, you feed 2 chews in the am and 2 in the pm for one entire container. Then, taper to one chew in the am and one in the evening. He loves them and he's been normal ever since. They can get pricey, but it's worth the health for your dog. The osteo bi-flex can't be digested properly, it doesn't have the amount of vits they need, and it's just a waste of money. Use them for yourself and try they phycox. We've been using it for 2 years now.
Avatar f tn We know that NSAIDs can cause stomach ulcers and bleeding. A 1991 study published in the journal Drug Research showed glucosamine to be safe. When daily oral doses of up to 2700 mg/kg were given in the rat and 2100 mg/kg in the dog for one year and six months, respectively, no anatomical lesions were found in the gastrointestinal system or other organs. The dose given to the dogs would be equivalent to 150,000 mg in a 70 kg human.
Avatar n tn When I was in my 20's I took tennis in college. I woke up one morning and couldn't move my knees. It was the oddest thing. At the time the doctor wanted me to see a surgeon who wanted to do exploratory surgery to figure out why. My parents wouldn't allow it. It went away within weeks. My knees do crack a lot, but I don't have pain. There are so many nerves that run up the front of the leg and in to the knee.
Avatar n tn my mother in law is on coumadin and has arthritis in her knees and back. Can she take or use things like ginger,or glucosamine sulfate without affecting the coumadin?
Avatar n tn Has anyone tried using n-acetyl glucosamine in conjunction with their normal insulin regamin (UCI study in August showed it might help)? My 10 year old type 1 diabetic son (diagnosed in 2002) has been taking 3 mg of n-acetyl glucosamine each day for 3 months, and we have seen a reduction in the amount of insulin he needs of about 10 % and a "evening out" of his blood sugars.
