glucosamine

Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.
Avatar f tn The only one you might want to be careful with is the HCL betaine, which is a short-term supplement generally speaking. The more important issue is why you're taking them and when. For example, proteolytic enzymes can be used for digestion, in which case they are taken with a meal or just after or just before, whereas if used for inflammation they must be taken apart from food by a couple of hours for best effect.

Avatar m tn I just heard a story on National Public Radio that there are now clinical trials for MS drugs being conducted in India (China, too) by Biogen Idec, one of the drug manufacturers. You might ask around or check the clinicaltrials.gov website. If you read the headlines you know what a mess we are in here with healthcare costs - it would be very expensive to pay for yourself. I hope the link Deb gave you will have some positive news for your situation.
Avatar m tn Yep, generics definitely work!! The Redemption clinical trial proves that. If you have any doubts, go to fixhepc.com. The bottom link is of some pharmacies that have been totally vetted by Dr. James Freeman and friends or staff. They are totally trusted, some are from India, one is from Bangladesh, another from Australia etc. Since Gilead is charging $94,000 for a 12 week supply of Harvoni some people think it costs a lot of money to make.
Avatar m tn 5 pound schnauzer and has been limping a bit after exercise. I have started giving her 500 mg of glucosamine a day and wanted to know if this is the right dosage?
161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. Avatar f tn I am 28 male from india. I had unprotected sex with a unknown status prostitute 106 days back. I tested negative with a 2nd generation tridot test at 77, 84 and 91 days. That test costs just 3 dollars. Is it accurate at 3 months. Here one doc said window is 6 months with inferior tests. I am nervous.
Avatar f tn So we can just fly to India to purchase harvoni? Seriously ? I mean is it that simple? What city and what company do you purchase it from? How do I get my hands on the meds once I get to India??
1093971 tn?1257833640 Not all glucosamine products are created equal. In order to best evaluate a product, you need to consider several things. When your healthcare and joint discomfort is at stake, take a moment and consider these criteria: What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar n tn I suffer from a chronic external nose irritation: idiopathic paresthesia?(my) Doc says it's sensitive nerve endings. They tingle/throb constantly at the tip(nasal dorsal nerve?) The area below my lower lip is similarly affected. No neuralgia, ie pain. Swiping yields but temporary relief. It always creeps back. I've tried a plethora of topicals to no avail: OTCs(all) , returns to East Coast manufacturers, and compounded medicine.
5133061 tn?1374980525 Thanks Here is a related article Genotype One: Indian Sofosbuvir and Chinese Daclatasvir By Greg Jefferys on August 16, 2015 7 http://blogs.hepmag.com/gregjefferys/2015/08/genotype_one_indian.html My personal opinion of the current situation only. Jefferys at his website seams to minimize to potential import problem for US citizens if any with his interpretation of the FDA "guidelines and rules".in my opinion.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.
Avatar m tn your brother's problem sounds like optic nerve hypoplasia and it is not due to lack of oxygen.

675347 tn?1365460645 Please does anyone know the dosage of Glucosamine Sulphate for dogs? How many milligrams per pound body weight? Also, is it ok to give my dog the regular Glucosamine (which people take) as it is so much cheaper to buy that at the supermarket, than to get it from the vet, or to buy dog treats which contain it! Thanks for any help or suggestions, anyone. Ginger.

1110049 tn?1409402144 Glucosamine is commonly taken in combination with chondroitin, a glycosaminoglycan derived from articular cartilage. Use of complementary therapies, including glucosamine, is common in patients with osteoarthritis, and may allow for reduced doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents.
