Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine hcl form

glucosamine

Avatar f tn He may not have the enzymes to utilize the Glucosamine like he did before the gastric tube. Glucosamine Hcl is cheaper and it is harder for the body to utilize than the higher quality Glucosamine sulfate. With that being said, Glucosamine sulfate is commonly use in people who have GI problems because it helps to protect the mucus membranes and heal injuried tissue. It is a very important supplement in IBS, Chrones disease, ulcers etc., I feel really bad for you and your dad.
1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.
675347 tn?1365460645 I have a 60 pound dog with major arthritis. It's very hard for her to get up on things anymore and get up the stairs. I have 1500 mg glucosamine and 1200 mg conjoint and pills. I would like to start giving it to her but I don't know how much is safe. Should I do one 1500 mg pill two times a day? Or 1500 mg pill once a day? I'd like to start giving it to her in the morning. I can't seem to find much information online.
Avatar f tn about glucosamine supplements? Or adequan injections? The adequan injection is pretty much just the injectable form of glucosamine. You might consider asking them, it can sometimes help a lot.

161647 tn?1280608163 The only thing I can think of was that my mom started taking Glucosamine last year. Can the Glucosamine affect eye vision. Or does anyone have any suggestions. My mom is worried that there is something seriously wrong because the doctor said the next step is too see a retina specialist. Thanks for any advise.
1356964 tn?1302087435 that they seem to put in anything labelled for pet use. the human form is Glucosamine/Chrondroitin and cheaper to buy that way. Donna I'm doing some more indepth checking on this thru the holistic ppl I will get back to you so don't do any ordering until I do....continue with the cosequin.
Avatar f tn The only one you might want to be careful with is the HCL betaine, which is a short-term supplement generally speaking. The more important issue is why you're taking them and when. For example, proteolytic enzymes can be used for digestion, in which case they are taken with a meal or just after or just before, whereas if used for inflammation they must be taken apart from food by a couple of hours for best effect.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar m tn My dog weighed 28-30lbs and the correct dose for her was 500mg Glucosamine per day. The vet said the 'human' Glucosamine was fine to use, so long as the dosage was correct for the dog's weight. So it depends what your dog's weight is, how much you can increase the dose. As far as I can make out, dogs (and humans too) respond differently to Glucosamine. With some there are great results, and with some, not much improvement. You could mention this to your vet perhaps.
Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar n tn Go to your local heath store or drug store such as CVS or Walgreens and get a Glucosamine / Chondroitin combination suppliment. It comes in capsule form, tablet, and liquid form. You decide which will be easier to administer to Sassy. This suppliment can not hurt her it can only help her. It is safe to give to her everyday and she should get it everyday at her age. Your Vet will have some that is much more expensive than that in the stores but it is more potent.
Avatar n tn I have always fed them a really good food with the added glucosamine. I just recently changed foods to one without glucosamine. My lab started limping really bad. I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something.
Avatar n tn s a form of arthritis, or a mixed-signal in the nerves when it is going up into the brain in the processing of an arthritic process that feels like cold, instead of the more typical arthritic aching pain? Interested that Glucosamine helped one person, and as a vegetarian who does not eat fish, perhaps it is from Omega deficiency or something.
436837 tn?1293793226 Please do try a Glucosamine/Chondroitin supplement daily. It might have very very good results. I know for a fact it has with my dog. She had a broken leg years ago (in her past life before I rescued her) Since then she has limped, and 'hitched' that leg from time to time, especially when the weather turned damp and cold. I started her with the supplement a few months ago in the Spring. I have not looked back! For testimony, she is leaping over hurdles 3-4 feet tall!

Avatar f tn and substances said to help with the joints themselves, such as glucosamine and chondrointin sulfate and hyaluronic acid. Knox gelatin has been used for the joints, but it's because of the glucosamine and chondrointin in it and you'll get a lot more of it in supplement form than by eating gelatin. Good luck, and good researching.
Avatar f tn t think the ones without aspirin will harm you but remember the Caspian creme can burn and case tenderness. The glucosamine is fine too some take it in tablet form. TMA ill help you a lot more than I can with these things. Have you tried the lidoderm patches they work for me.
Avatar n tn One that is good for joints is called Glucosamine. This is an amino acid that is naturally found in the body and sometimes the body needs a boost. Glucosamine suppliments helps increase the body's ability to produce more cartilage which in turn can help make the ankle and knee stronger. It is recommended that you add 1500mg per day for 1-2 months. This may calm the daily stress on the knee and ankle and take away some of the pain you are experiencing.
Avatar m tn I take a throid pill every morning. Would glucosamine Chondrotin interfer with it?
