Glucosamine and weight lifting

Common Questions and Answers about Glucosamine and weight lifting

glucosamine

Avatar m tn Your leg pain could be from your herniated disc. Fish oil and glucosamine with chondroitin can help lessen the pain. Leg pain is also a symptom of vitamin B12 deficiency - called intermittent claudication. Monthly B12 injections is too far apart in my opinion. I take sublingual (under the tongue) B12 spray daily. Extremely effective and pain free! Vitamin B12 is only one of the many deficiency states found with hypothyroidism.
675347 tn?1365460645 s very hard for her to get up on things anymore and get up the stairs. I have 1500 mg glucosamine and 1200 mg conjoint and pills. I would like to start giving it to her but I don't know how much is safe. Should I do one 1500 mg pill two times a day? Or 1500 mg pill once a day? I'd like to start giving it to her in the morning. I can't seem to find much information online.
Avatar n tn I have stated going to the gym 6times a week(3days of weight lifting and 3days of swimming and running). I am 6ft1, weigh 11stone at the moment. I have started taking suppliments which i just wanted to make sure my mix is safe.
Avatar n tn Is anyon weight lifting during their pregnancy i do alot of squats dead lifts and hugg intensity exercises. My doctor said it was alright but other s ob say otherwise..
Avatar f tn t light either. I just worry I will hurt the baby and when I should stop lifting or carrying anything. Thanks!
Avatar n tn You would be looking at 500mg Glucosamine for every 30lbs body weight (approx) and 200mg Chondrotin also for every 30lbs body weight. That would be the max. dose. My dog (28lbs approx.) had that dose and it really made a definite difference to her. In damp weather she would limp ever so slightly now and again (she once years ago had a broken leg) Within a week of giving her the Glucosamine/Chondroitin, she stopped limping and never ever did so again the rest of her life.
1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking glucosamine and Chondroitin to help my knee recover from a dislocated patella. but for some reason my contact lenses have become very dry is that a side effect of the glucosamine??. I have used this type of soft contacts for a long time but never experienced this problem. Thanks.
Avatar n tn Hi Steven, Yah. I know. Prednisone can cause more problems than it solves. I was on it for three months. I have really strong bones though; so, hopefully, I'll be okay. I recently had a back x-ray done at a chiropractor's office. He said my bone structure is about 90% better than most people my age. I've been taking calcium and glucosamine supplements and a multivitamin that has about 200% of each of the B vitamins, in addition to other vitamins.
Avatar f tn t lift more than half my weight. I worked in dog grooming so I was always lifting dogs up into tubs and what not.
Avatar m tn chondroitin phosphate, MSM, Omega-3). Glucosamine and chondroitin phosphate are unlikely to cause any drug to drug interactions with your other medications. But to date, there has been no evidence of structural improvement with these conservative modalities. So, if your symptoms are severe you may need surgical intervention. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn Other than that , he still runs very much , plays a lot , loves his toys and balls , and he has never say no to me for a night walk , and is constantly waiting for me to take him out. Although on rare occasions I have noticed that some nights he wants to get back home some minutes before the 30 min. mark. He´s about 7 lbs. overweight , he´s 61 lbs now. I give him a homemade diet , with a multivitamin , calcium and fish oil. My question is , can this happening because of his older age ?
Avatar f tn I'm 21yrs old and 9 weeks pregnant. I work for an airline and sometimes lift 50lbs bags at check in. I've heard lifting heavy weight can be bad and lead to miscarriages. However I've also heard that because I have done this job for the past 2 years I should be fine because my body has adapted to it. I told management and they said the only thing they could do is congratulate me...
Avatar n tn but felt strong enough to get back into weight lifting. Started lifting (w/a personal trainer 3 weeks ago) and left arm is swelling with odd feeling of fullness, and my ring is tighter. I'm inclined to stop lifting since that is the only change in habit that I can identify (there's no cut or infection) but I don't want to just give up. What can I do to reduce the swelling in my arm and should I give up the weight lifting? Thanks in advance for advice and suggestions!
558059 tn?1288550944 Are you using the right dosage? I give my dog (who weighs 28lbs) 500mg Glucosamine, and 200mg Chondrotin every day without fail. (So you could calculate the correct dosage for your dog's weight, from that.) In her case she had an intermittent limp in her right leg, which was a throwback from a broken leg about 6 years ago. As soon as I started her on the supplement, after about 5 days (!) I noticed she didn't limp anymore. And in 1 year, she hasn't done so since!
9700808 tn?1405488881 I still pick up and carry my 5 year old and I'm just fine and so is my baby
Avatar f tn What is the weight limit for lifting when you're 5 weeks??
689367 tn?1227469139 I have also been told that glucosamine (Joint supplements) is not good for your eyes and could elevate pressure. How true is that?
Avatar n tn ginger and glucosamine sulfate will affect coumadin (warfarin) I'm on warfarin and can't take ginger or glucosamine and a host of other supplements.
Avatar m tn how much weight can i lift..pacemaker put in 5 months ago and seems to be protruding.
Avatar f tn m a d1 athlete (was) just finished my last season and my doctor says stay active and if anything is uncomfortable to stop and not do it again. However, alot of older women have told me the first trimester is very critical and I should not lift as besser as much. I'm planning it safe and funny light weight. I would defintely look into it if I were you. I'm 23 and 9weeks btw.
Avatar f tn Hi, This is in answer to your two questions, the 1st being the soreness you have been experiencing. You didn't say how long you have been lifting or the amt of weight and reps! Yes your back may be bothering you do to standing, and it could also come from lifting, especially if you are not resting and letting the muscles repair themselves. This is why I only lift every other day! The amt of calories burned is also hard to say as it depends on whether you are lifting low reps or fast reps.
