Avatar m tn All is well and good but am trying to significantly minimize my time on the computer so that the tendinitis in my arms and hands will hopefully start to heal. Hope everyone is doing as well as possible under their individual circumstances.
1093971 tn?1257833640 What form is the glucosamine in? What is the total daily dose? Are there any other ingredients? What type is the glucosamine? How pure are the ingredients? If you’re considering taking glucosamine with chondroitin you have another ballgame. Since you didn’t ask about the latter I’ll stick to glucosamine by itself. If you search the Internet you’ll see inconclusive evidence of glucosamine having negative effects on blood sugar.

Avatar f tn Since always I have bursitis and tendinitis besides the fibromyalgia. The rheumatologist that is treating me for Fibromyalgia said that is common and normal people having bursistis and tendinitis in addition to fibromyalgia. But I don't get it. I don't understand why. Since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I've already had bilateral trochanter's bursistis, bilateral sholder's bursitis, hips' and feet's tendinitis.
Avatar n tn It is our physicians that offer the proper medications and exercises to treat and control our pain. I am not comfortable advising your aunt on anything specific. Obviously she may benefit from a NSAID as well as a Physical Therapy consult. Which NSAID should be determined by her diagnosing physician. I don't think there any specific NSAID for tendinitis, it's what her PCP believes will works best for her. Please encourage her to consult her PCP. I wish her the best.
Avatar f tn If you wish to try it make sure you are not allergic to shell fish (glucosamine) or MSM (from pine tree bark) or Arnica ( arnica montana flower). You can buy MSM and arnica lotions separately and there is a glucosamine product that is made from corn but it is expensive. I am also taking vitamins which seems to be helping too.

Avatar m tn Glucosamine is sometimes very effective for arthritis, especially in older dogs or after injury etc. But at 5 years old, and especially as no arthritis was found, it may not be that Glucosamine will help. I don't know. Has he been checked for Cruciate ligament tear? If this IS cruciate ligament, surgery -as far as I know- is the best option. Muscle atrophy is often caused by inability to use the leg properly often because of injury or pain etc.
Avatar f tn Arthritis can be secondary to many diseases like rheumatoid arthritis, gout, injury, infections etc. Bursitis and tendinitis can occur due to over use and injury to the knee. As pain subsided with ibuprofen it could be some inflammation like bursitis, arthritis or tendinitis. Take rest, elevate your limbs while sleeping, take ibuprofen if necessary. If the pain still troubles take an X-ray and visit orthopaedician for further assistance. Take care.
Avatar f tn after 3 months of treatment, I developed wrists and ankles tendinitis. I tried NSAID, PT, cast at the wrist and iontophoresis, but nothing helped. After 5 months of treatment I couldn’t move my arms anymore. Doctors were useless. After long searching, I read that non treated hypothyroidism could lead to endless tendinitis, especially when T3 are needed. Because my doctor didn’t want to prescribe me Armour, I decided to buy Thyro-Gold, an OTC thyroid hormon.
Avatar m tn The other such inflammatory tendinitis conditions giving pain at the back of knee on inner or outer side (along with possible ankle joint pain) are Hamstrings tendinitis and Gastrocnemius muscle tendenitis. Another cause of popliteal pain is injury to the posterior horn of lateral meniscus. Please consult an orthopedic specialist regarding this. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar f tn My husband has had tendinitis for quite some time. It comes and goes. I have also had tendinitis that comes and goes away on it's own. My husband now has a lump on his elbow about the size of a marble, maybe a tiny bit bigger than a marble. I never heard of a lump forming due to tendinitis - would this be normal? The lump is hard and painful to him when I tried feeling the lump. I told him several times to call the doctor, but he thinks it's just tendinitis.

Avatar f tn My dog is 12 year old and has arthrits and the vet told me to use glucosamine. In the summer time he does not need it. Now my dog is whimpering and shakeing, when I pet him he stops. This started a couple of days ago. The weather got really cold fast and I just started him back on glucosamine. Does this sound like the arthrits acting up or do I need to worry? How much glucosamine can I give him? I hate when my dog is in pain, I have had him since I was in kindergarden.
Avatar n tn I went to human vitamin store and got her some glucosamine supplements. I got the liquid flavored glucosamine and the glucosamine soft flavored chew. I know some cannot swallow pills. My dog eats the chews if I slightly warm them. She will not touch the liquid. I would rather put a pill in some meat or something. It is much easier for her to take. I put her back on a food with glucosamine and she isnt having any problems. I learned my lesson about changing foods.
Avatar n tn I have heard many different things about glucosamine for dogs . That is is okay for your dogs, and also that it isn't. There can be many benefits to providing supplements for your dog. It can help them remain healthy and with that even happier. No one likes to deal with a grumpy dog. Can you tell me where I could find more information about glucosamine for dogs though?

Avatar n tn I would say that the combination of tendinitis and knee pain caused me to play basketball at about 50% and with nearly excruciating pain. On occasion my knees would give out--most of the time after playing a game. After resting them for two weeks now, my knees feel slightly better. So I went to this guy and he explained to me that I had some minor tendinitis(yeah right, when playing I'm nearly crying) and couldn't explain the pain throughout my knee and just said it was overuse.
675347 tn?1365460645 s very hard for her to get up on things anymore and get up the stairs. I have 1500 mg glucosamine and 1200 mg conjoint and pills.
