My initial HgbA1c was 8. My fasting insulin level was high (sad to say I don't remember the number). I do random fsbs's twice a day, always below 200. The fasting bs's were between 130 and 150 initially, now usually between 100 and 120. The 2 hour post prandials are unpredictable (but always below 200).

t know if anything else, I take metformin 1000mgs a day, and at first it kept me with the runs and I lost 20lbs but, then after my body got use to the meds I gained it all back.. I am going to start a liquid diet.. if that doesn't help then I am going to look into Weight Loss surgery.. I am close to 250lbs my biggest is 255.. and I am 5'6 I think that my weight has alot to do with all my health problems and not being able to get PG.. so I need to lose weight some how..

My Dr. wants to place me on Metformin or Glucophage. Does anyone here with MS take one of these? If so, what kind of problems might I expect? What good benefits do you receive? Any info is much appreciated!!!!

My question is y are you taking byetta and actos+met... and I'm on topamx, but for seizures... I'm also on actos plusmet 15/500 just once a day, with a insulin pump ( i take apidra in my pump)... byetta and actos plus met are very similar drugs doing the same thing.. the actos+met will make you gain weight very quickly. How many shots of byetta are you taking a day a long with the actos plus met? and what dose of actos are you taking and why...

Hi, I am taking Glucophage (slow release Metformin) and have just been prescribed Januvia to take also. I have had stomach pains and upset stomach since being on them, the plus side is that I have lost weight so am very happy about that but wondered if anyone else has experienced the stomach pain and if so how long did it take for it to subside. If anyone has any advice etc I would be so grateful.

Hello =) I'm 34 years old and am about to begin my first cycle with the ovulation drug clomid. I'm a type 2 diabetic, have PCOS, and I have PSVT. I take Byetta, metformin, and metoprolol. I have been working with my Dr. for about 18 months to loose weight (I've lost over 60 lbs), get my blood sugar under control (my last 2 AICs were normal), and get medically ready to have a child. Last week he told us he feels comfortable with my heath for my husband and I to try to get pregnant.

Has anyone used Byetta? I started taking it four weeks ago and it has done wonders on controling my blood sugars and I have also lost 16 pounds. My doctor told me that it may help me to drop a few pounds, but I never thought it could help that much. I admit it does make you nausious, but I can take that for the weight loss.

I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.

Is Lantus and Metformin ok to take or is the Metformin harmful to my liver? I know several with Hep-c who take Metformin.

I started taking Glucophage and Byetta. My cycle started to come down on a monthly basis. I got off of both these medications maybe 8 months ago and now I am back to the missed months again. I am also taking Maxide for my high blood pressure and I take it every single day, faithfully. In Januray my cycle was fine (usually lasts 4 days) and then in February, I started seeing lighter menstruation. In March, it skipped.

my OBGYN just prescribed prometrium for low progestrone, and metformin ( the generic form of glucophage), due to my body not processing sugar properly. the prometrium bottle says DO NOT TAKE WHILE PREGNANT. i have read up on this & it seems to be a very common & helpful drug to take during early pregnancy. has anyone taken both, or either 1 alone while pregnant? my 1st pregnancy was a breeze & i hate taking anything during pregnancy. thanks so much.

I was also on metformin as I have PCO and was trying to get pregnant. I did loose some weight also. I felt nausea when taking it so dr had me take at night (800mg).

I also started taking birth control again. My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. I too am on Metformin and have lost 6 lbs within a month and a few days...I haven't had a period yet...hoping I'm preggo, but it doesn't seem likely...so I'm going to phone OB/GYN Monday...

can anyone tell me how much time does it take for metformin to effect the insulin level . and i dont see major sideeffect caused by metformin . what do u guys think . i was overweight , now i reduced my weight to the normal range with dieting and exercise still my insulin is high . every help will be hugely appreciated i am currently writing this with huge brainfogg and sleepiness .

7 the doctor put him on metformin 500 2 x per day and just recently increased to 1000mg in the AM and 500 at night, I am a nurse and the doc said if blood sugars are still greater then 200 after 2 weeks to increase to 1000mg 2 x per day which we have done, his sugar is still runnign high, 270-310, he has cut out all soda, with the exception of an occasional glass, he drinks mostly water, lots of chicken etc..
