Avatar n tn You lost 19pounds in 1 week, just by taking metformin? Are you also watching what you eat and excercising?
1424965 tn?1289338671 Thanks so much for sharing your story. You can message me anytime you need to vent or just chat. I do feel the same way at times and experience quite a bit of anger too. I also have some prayers that I use. If your interested I can send them to you.
Avatar n tn I went 16 months without a period and my doctor freaked out when she found out (I recently changed doctors). Cysts can make you irregular, as can thyroid conditions. I'm sure there are other reasons. I know that when it would go for extended periods of time, I would take test after test after test and they would always be negative...... just got my first positive result in about 3-4 years yesterday, and confirmed with blood test. Good Luck and you have my thoughts.
1537195 tn?1294464163 Look up on the web psco and metformin.. U will understand what psco is and how metformin can help....Good Luck !
Avatar f tn My water broke at 17 weeks and i lost most of the the water before i reached the hospital. My CRP and infections levels were little high and was induced to terminate my first pregnancy which i concieved after 2 yrs of hope. I was also a PCOS patient and was on metformin for almost 18 months. It has been very traumatic to lose my little baby even when the heart beat was very strong after 8 hrs of the water loss.
393685 tn?1425816122 I started piling on the weight and got very lethargic until i decided i need help so i went to a sureslim centre that helps you manage your weight control with one of their weight loss plans. The 6 month course costs £460 but before you can start the course they send you off to have a full blood test that requires you to not eat or drink anything except water for 12 hrs.
Avatar n tn I hope you are pregnant! It won't be long before you can take a HPT. How do you know you ovulated on 12-30 12-31? A girl here, kck, got a positive test 10 days after ovulation by using the test that says "four days sooner". I don't remember the brand. Good luck.
Avatar m tn You can re-introduce the offending food areas, but pay attention as to what makes it come back, and eat less of it. Its trial and error. Some find out that they also have certain food allergy. I would not suddenly jump on the gluten free fad yet. But you could try it out- parts of it. Some eat gluten fine but do not tolerate whole grains, yes thats right. Some people cant eat corn, some are lactose intolerant and love almond milk (say no to soy milk with Hashi).
1160836 tn?1332333769 But in your case it just might be that you are prego I would say if you want you can test if you see a - then wait till AF is due. I wish all the best for you all and tons and tons of Baby dust... I will not test on till AF is past due. I dont want another let down. I go in tom for my blood work of 21cd so I hope I have some awesome numbers showing I O good this time...
Avatar n tn does the doctor take you off of the meds or can you lose a little more weight as long as you stay in the normal range?
921323 tn?1268679412 Could our failure as health care providers actually position obesity drug research and development as the most important pharmaceutical goal of the decade? Where do you think we should put our resources? Do you accept the recent obesity drug hurdles in stride and want the pharmaceutical companies to take on the challenge to develop more anti-obesity medications? Or do you think we should concentrate our efforts on non-pharmaceutical interventions?
Avatar n tn However, no one can help you except yourself. So you need to be proactive in taking charge of your own health. This is critical for both your quality and quantity of life. Complications of uncontrolled diabetes are very unpleasant and will kill you eventually if the diabetes is not brought under control.
Avatar f tn Beyond the fact that eating disorders can kill, uncontrolled diabetes can lead to blindness, loss of limbs, death. So....after reading your previous posts and this one...I guess my question is, do you want to live? Part of controlling diabetes is eating the right foods, the right portions, at the right times. It is important for us to keep our glucose levels on a fairly even keel. No spiking. If you aren't eating, that is just as bad as eating too much....
162948 tn?1205256292 My periods come every 28-34 days now I have pains in my legs when it's time for my montly cycle which I never had before. Let me give you ladies some fact on the IUD. Me and my husband have been together for 13 years. never prevented pregnancy it just never happened the doctors said nothing was wrong with us so we decided to give this fertility thing a shot.So when I say I know how you feel I truly do.I'm a teacher and I'm with children all day and I'm just waiting on the day I can be with mine.I'll be praying for you.
1551024 tn?1294096462 Been a rough few days and am pretty wiped out. Am on Roxithromysin and Fluconozole for a bladder infection and thrush and they have made me feel allot worse than normal. I feel weak, anxious, nauseous, dizzy and my stomach feels like someone lit a match in there and hasn't put out the fire! It burns constrantly and 15 minutes after I eat or drink anything my stomach bloats up like a balloon and then then cramps until I feel faint.
Avatar m tn But this is a medical emergency. You are going to get diabetic ketoacidosis and it will kill you. You need to totally avoid carbs for now (sugar of any type/ breads/pasta etc). Ie. you can eat fats (fat doesn't impact blood sugar), and maybe green vegetables. Please let us know you can get some help.
Avatar n tn Taking regular insulin meant for diabetics when you are not diabetic can kill you. Besides being a VERY BAD idea--stupid in the extreme--, people who are hypoglycemic (low blood sugar) have a tendency to GAIN weight, not lose it. Taking supplements that "mimic" insulin probably won't help you either. Don't take drugs or untried supplements, especially those with such promises as this one has. If it sounds too good to be true, it is.
1424965 tn?1289338671 If you have PCOS you should be on metformin to regulate your hormones, Many women can ovulate with metformin alone. you would also continue taking it up to the end of the first trimester to help prevent miscarriage, if you don't know us with PCOS have a 50% miscarriage rate in the first 12 weeks. Definitely ask your doctor about metformin and you should be seeing a RE (reproductive endocrinologist) not an OBGYN. An RE specializes in endocrine disorders they can really help treat you.
Avatar f tn Metformin, Synthroid and whatever you take for hypertension can all cause diarrhea (check Patient Information Leaflets). Now the question is if you can change any of them. If you're taking metformin, do it always with/after the meal, not on the empty stomach. Do this with other meds also, if not prescribed otherwise. Try to identify foods that aggravate diarrhea.
Avatar f tn So if you have to take medication for diabetes, you may want to ask your doctor about using Metformin. Here's an article about Metformin helping the immune system..... Co Metformin may improve immune response and cancer treatments June 7, 2009 McGill.
300762 tn?1252236401 My face is totally clear while on it. There are other drugs like Metformin, in which if you watch what you eat it can in time help you lose weight. Stressing can also make acne, and period problems relax. First thing is too make an appointment with your GYN and discuss your problems.
1444838 tn?1456174552 Metformin is a medication for the insulin resistance part of PCOS. If you have that aspect, then it can help - otherwise, it may not - it also can have a few side effects. I had PCOS until my hyst - I also had thyroid issues and Cushing's - which they all said was PCOS. Make sure you get copies of all your testing - blood tests and scans, and get a complete picture, and see a doctor who will look at all of it to find out the source of the issue. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Hi, So happy to finally hear from someone, thank-you! Many months can go by with no episodes but I counted maybe only one every 2-3 months. I feel like you that if I take an alka-seltzer right away (promotes belching) if the bearing down or water splashing on the face doesn't work.I do want to explore a natural anxiety remedy too...valarian etc. The 1st episode lasted about 30minutes probably due to not knowing what was happening, but by the time I got to the ER it of course stopped.
Avatar m tn Hi there. Meth as in methamphetamine? No doubt you can speed up your death like that. Have you tried metformin?
Avatar f tn I finally got in to see my doctor. She is so incredibly cool. She explained some things. Like she said that my brain is telling my ovaries what to do but the testosterone isn't letting my ovaries ovulate like normal. There are TINY cysts, paired with the androgen issues (male hormones) and therefore I was diagnosed with PCOS. Most PCOSers have insulin resistance and diabetic issues. Luckily I don't have that problem.
1179666 tn?1265306468 If you are someone who needs lubricants then this should work wonders. Lubriants can kill sperm or prevent them from swimming to the right place. I loved it! I am not 5 weeks 1 day.
334926 tn?1436815123 She said we could just keep trying like we are if we wanted to and maybe we will get lucky, I can continue the progesterone like I have been doing and changed my baby aspirin to taking it only after ovulation and continue it if I get preggo and stop taking it if I get AF.. She ordered me to have 2 tests to check for other recurrent loss issues..she says thats the only tests left to do, she highly doubts anything will come up but at least this way we know that all tests have been complete..
