Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.

I am currently taking 50 mg a day Toporol XL for Pac's. My Primary Care Physcian wants to increase my dosage to 100 mg per day. (double dosage). I also have Sinus Tachycardia which is under control with medications. My concern is that doubling my medication could lower the heart rate too much and cause serious problems. I was told it would have to be doubled since the tablets are 50 mg each. Is there any other solution or medication that comes in a lower dosage for this problem?

is glipizide 10mg the same as glyburide 5mg / because my husband was drinking the gyburide and when we went for the new prescription it had changed to glipizide and he hasn't felt good since the change do i call his doctor

I also take glipizide. The gulmetza does not seem to be working for me. My sugars are in the 200 + - range. Is there another generation 1 or 2 diabetes medicine that I can take with the glipizide that will work as good as the actos did and not cost so much? I would like to get off the glumetza. I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.

Hi, I recently went on glipizide after a very bad reaction to victoza. I was losing weight, but now the glipizide is keeping me at the same weight. Has anyone had the experience that is the same? and is there a lower does that anyone has still been able to lose weight with? and yes I'm on a low carb diet and excercise plan. I'm doing better with this than I did before and I lost 33 pounds. It's the glipizide.

I have elevated liver enzymes due to hepatic adenoma. Currently taking glipizide for high blood sugar, but is causing side effects. Weight gain, extreme low blood sugar, restless sleep. What can I take instead that will not affect the liver?

You need to learn more about managing diabetes with diet, exercise and medication. Consider reading Blood Sugar 101 online or another basic diabetes book. Diabetes education classes are also good IF they give you up to date information which is not always the case. There are many websites and much information online written by people who are successfully managing their diabetes. Remaining consistently over 250 is very dangerous and can lead to complications.

My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...

My blood pressure which has been low (110/70 or less) since a ovarian tumor surgery 4/2007, is now back up to 180/90 or higher and at the time of the angina it was 198/103but as soon as Nitro worked, it was down to 135/75. I have been on a 300 mg dose of Bupropion XL for about a half year now. I also am on a 100 dose of Zoloft. I was originally on only Zoloft but it wasn't working well so I got put on Bupropion XL which worked. I take Trazidone when needed for my sleeping issues. I never had any side affects from it until recently. I've noticed that in the past month I would get nausea after I take Bupropion, as well as feeling jittery and tense.

Just wondering if anyone is pregnant and taking either Zoloft (sertraline) or Toprol XL (metaporpolol).
