4117735 tn?1349962369 Is it OK to double, or tipple, your medication? I take Glipizide 10 mg. The reason asked is that I have been monitoring my glucose and it has been between 200 - 300, and I would like to lower my readings.
647391 tn?1275016633 "Do you take Glipizide once a day? " Yes, usually around 5-6am. I eat breakfast 30-45 minutes later. "If so, what is your blood sugars at the end of day." <120 mg/dl "I think the glipizide helps, but doesn't last the day." Don't rely on medications to do all the work for you. There there to 'help' you. Do you exercise and break sweat for 60 minutes daily? Are you at normal body weight? Are you eating a proper diabetic diet?
Avatar f tn I am currently taking 50 mg a day Toporol XL for Pac's. My Primary Care Physcian wants to increase my dosage to 100 mg per day. (double dosage). I also have Sinus Tachycardia which is under control with medications. My concern is that doubling my medication could lower the heart rate too much and cause serious problems. I was told it would have to be doubled since the tablets are 50 mg each. Is there any other solution or medication that comes in a lower dosage for this problem?
Plant Hi! If you were my patient, I would advise you that there shouldn't be any contraindication to taking Ibuprofen, Acetominophen or Aleve with those two medications. Hope that helps!

I am really thinking about asking the doctor to put me back on insulin (novolin R). Thank you for your input.

Avatar f tn You need to learn more about managing diabetes with diet, exercise and medication. Consider reading Blood Sugar 101 online or another basic diabetes book. Diabetes education classes are also good IF they give you up to date information which is not always the case. There are many websites and much information online written by people who are successfully managing their diabetes. Remaining consistently over 250 is very dangerous and can lead to complications.
Avatar f tn My dr, said she looked it up in her book, and Wellbutrin XL 150mg, is only prescribed for SAD and to quit smoking. She did not want to prescribe the XL at all no mater what I said. She prescribed me Regular Wellbutrin 100mg twice per day. I do not want the regular wellbutrin as it will make me shakey, and I will not follow through with taking 2 pills per day...

Avatar f tn I have been on a 300 mg dose of Bupropion XL for about a half year now. I also am on a 100 dose of Zoloft. I was originally on only Zoloft but it wasn't working well so I got put on Bupropion XL which worked. I take Trazidone when needed for my sleeping issues. I never had any side affects from it until recently. I've noticed that in the past month I would get nausea after I take Bupropion, as well as feeling jittery and tense.
94902 tn?1330479667 Just wondering if anyone is pregnant and taking either Zoloft (sertraline) or Toprol XL (metaporpolol). I currently take both - one for anxiety and the other because I have PVCs and tachycardia (which causes the anxiety). I am now estimated 6 weeks pregnant, and am having to make the decision about wether or not to come off my meds. I am in the process of weighing my pros and cons, but wonder if any other moms have been on any meds while pregnant. I would appreciate any input.
Avatar f tn If you can come back to me and tell why you have been on this medication i will suggest you other anti-depressants that are proven to be way more efficient but it all depends for what you are being treated for. Please note that I'm not a doctor and my suggestion should never in any way replace those of a qualified doctor. Please come back to me and we will shed some light into this.

Avatar n tn Gliclazide? Did you mean to say Glipizide? When writing names of medications it is important to spell them correctly as printed on the bottle/vile/container. Medication adjustments and/or changes only can be answered by your attending physician as he/she has access to your medical records/history to provide the correct evaluation, not strangers on Internet public health forums.
