Hi, I don't know the answer -- but since both CML and Gleevec toxicity produce anemia because of marrow suppression, maybe it's not possible to tell the difference. E.g., both would show a low reticulocyte count.
This full text paper on anemia from Gleevec https://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10.1002/ajh.23879 shows that other signs such as red blood cell size can vary, so that doesn't seem to help. Sorry.
I was diagnosed with CML and given Gleevec 400 ml. After taking gleevec for 2 weeks doctor took additional blood test. My WBC dropped from 36.5 to 7.1 and all other blood counts came down to normal range. I'm wondering if gleevec could give such fast hematological response or I was possibly misdiagnosed originally. I don't and didn't have any symptoms, my spleen and liver weren't enlarged, no enlarged lymph. Should I get second opinion asap? Please, help me.
t want to see me, that fever was not from gleevec, and that I needed to monitor myself by myself by simply taken ibuprofen. This is what I did all last week and only this Monday he did a blood work.
For now, what can I do to help my body to build my immune system back? Any vitamins? I'll appriciate any advice.
I was diagnosed last year and was immediatley put on gleevec 400mg/day.At my last consult my metabolic stats had risen,hence blood tests to determine if the gleevec is no longer working.I am still in firstphase and wonder what my options are if the gleevec is no longer an option.Amin pretty good form,just very tired and a lot of bone pain.
I have CML and was treated with Gleevec for 4 years and achieved remission. I have for the past several months been experiencing sudden onset of weakness which last for hours, to days. My blood pressure which has remained under control for several years with atenolol has been running 145/105 and higher for the past three to four months. I have a feeling of fullness in my stomach, and I have sporatic episodes of mild coughing, this occurs maybe once a week.
i get my heart checked every 2 weeks now and i am fine with the qt thing. i take the chemo pill called gleevec and have to force myself to eat so i dont get sick when i take it. how long will these withdrawel problems go on? i have xanax to take (1mg) but dont work to good. i should would appreciate any advice from any one on how to deal with these issues, family dr says its anxiety but i think its the withdrawels from the high dose of elavil.
he removed the first tumor 6 years ago. and this last year he is been alot worse. He have 11 tumors in his abdome and had some infektion. he is imune to the glivec medicin. and they have only one more medicin left to try. But he realy wants to try to find a place they will try to operate. They have sad here in norway that it cant be operate. But mabye some other contry. hope to get some answers..
I'm a 42 female and had a GIST in my stomach that the surgeon removed along with a part of my stomach and also my gallbladder was removed almost 3 months ago. The GIST came back as non-cancerous. I just started experiencing moderate pain right under my right side under the last rib right where my gallbladder was. The pain comes and goes every 4 seconds and lasted for 4 hours. It started out earlier today with being sore around that area and then the pain started.
Last week I fell from running and have scrapes on my hands and on my shoulder. They are not fully healed and you can tell there is still some "openness". Not bleeding but not closed up (im sure youve all had these types of large scrapes/new skin coming on/scabs, etc...)

1. I think I touched the condoms I used that had her saliva/vaginal fluids on them and then may have touched my scab/openish type of wounds.
are common toads frogs hazardous poisonous? what if we eat them up? and simply the lizards too? the normal ones we have in our homes the green ones? i've heard people all over the world eat them especially the chinese taiwanese japanese thailanders malaysians indonesians. anyways what happens if we eat a common toad frog and the lizard? what will be the immediate reaction to the body !!!!

I am a 37-year-old man who has suffered from PACs/PVCs for about 15 years. All tests for rhythm and/or structural abnormalities have been conducted with good results. I am a runner and mainly get PACs/PVCs during the first few minutes of my runs-- often they are somewhat painful. Also, for the last two years, my sleep has been disrupted by palpitations that are consistent with nocturnal panic.
I am a Leukemia Survivor also. What type of Leukemia did you have, and what was your treatment. I have CML, and have achieved a major molecular response through a oral chemo drug called Gleevec.
It does not sound like these patches have anything to do with the Leukemia. I would see a Dermatologist to have them evaluated. I hope that helps you a little bit.

Hello, I could really use some advice about a problem I have had for 3-4 years with episodes of nausea and vomiting, often followed by a terrible headache as well as other symptoms.
Initially, I would be woken at random several hours into the night with sudden onset of vomiting undigested food. I would be violently ill with sweats, shaking, and ears ringing as if I was going to pass out. This would happen every 2-3 months or so. I also had some gnawing stomach pain.
I should mention that I have CML but it has been in remission for the last two years and I am no longer taking Gleevec.
I am scheduled to be looked at by a group that kills the nerve endings in the heart that causes AF but there is an 18 month waiting period.
My question is how many times can I be cardioverted and what is the downside of having it so often?
