There seems to be a big difference in opinions of how to read the sentinel nodes. I had 4 removed and 3 had isolated cancer cells/cluster. 1=.07,2=.03, 3=.03 in size but they are all classified as negative. So what is the criteria for determining what is positive and negative within the sentinel node technique? Is there really a clear difinition? Or is the sentinel node technique still a work in progress to determine what the testing really means and what the treatment plan should be?
I had a cancerous breast tumor measuring 2.3 cm which was removed along with tissue. Tumor was estrogen positive (high intensity) I also had a sentinel node biopsy which showed cancer in the sentinel node but not in the 3 others that were removed. I've gotten 2 opinions; 1, that I should have chemotherapy and 2, that I should take tamoxofin or another adjuvent therapy. Which way should I go? I've had uterine cancer and I am 65 years old.
Now I will wait 10 days for the results for the other 4 areas which have been removed in Athens. My sentinel node was clear from cancer cells and the large area which has now been removed was biopsed at the time of surgery and has clear boundaries. I now will attend a course of 30 days radiotherapy and hormone therapy ( they will stop my periods for 2 years).
I live in THE Netherlands and here are still psychiatrics and general healthcare physisian which still deny the existence of DID. Most of The time they'll say it's to get attention (borderline personality disorder). It's so frustrating to be misunderstood and being blamed for something you can't stop from happening.
All things considered, I am wondering if I should opt for mastectomy and avoid radiaiton or go the breast conservation route and radiation. Are chances of a cancer recurrance in that breast more or less or the same? By the way, I am 10% ER positive and PR negative. Thank you for taking the time to respond to all my questions.

Only the Dr.s know ALL the details of your case and can adequately advise as to what treatment would be best. s physicians, who have all the details of her particular situation, would be the best people to make recommendations regarding a treatment plan. (You did not mention the size of her tumor, ER/PR status, whether additional tests have been done to establish her Stage of BC, etc.)
However, as general information, a Grade 3, invasive ductal cancer, with lymph node involvement is normally an indication for chemotherapy.

Ondansetron is used for treating vomiting. Constipation, dizziness and headache are the most commonly reported side effects associated with its use. These symptoms will ware off once you have stopped using the medication. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. I hope it helps.
