Avatar f tn There seems to be a big difference in opinions of how to read the sentinel nodes. I had 4 removed and 3 had isolated cancer cells/cluster. 1=.07,2=.03, 3=.03 in size but they are all classified as negative. So what is the criteria for determining what is positive and negative within the sentinel node technique? Is there really a clear difinition? Or is the sentinel node technique still a work in progress to determine what the testing really means and what the treatment plan should be?
Avatar n tn I had a cancerous breast tumor measuring 2.3 cm which was removed along with tissue. Tumor was estrogen positive (high intensity) I also had a sentinel node biopsy which showed cancer in the sentinel node but not in the 3 others that were removed. I've gotten 2 opinions; 1, that I should have chemotherapy and 2, that I should take tamoxofin or another adjuvent therapy. Which way should I go? I've had uterine cancer and I am 65 years old.
Avatar n tn I am actually not sure if they come or go or they are stronger in some moments. I feel itchy in general in my body. Does this look like an ARS rash?
Avatar m tn If you believe you have been exposed to HIV and want help to judge your risk, would like advice about HIV testing, or have questions about the effectiveness of condoms or risks associated with specific sexual practices, this is the site for you.
Avatar f tn But I have found that if I take two exedrins right at the beginning of pain before the vomiting begins, I get some relief. Hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Now I will wait 10 days for the results for the other 4 areas which have been removed in Athens. My sentinel node was clear from cancer cells and the large area which has now been removed was biopsed at the time of surgery and has clear boundaries. I now will attend a course of 30 days radiotherapy and hormone therapy ( they will stop my periods for 2 years).
6708370 tn?1471490210 Nothing happens .... our body contains tons of lymph nodes. The term Sentinel Node is used to identify the first few nodes that the tumor drains into. We don't "grow" new nodes. It doesn't mean that the Sentinel node is in charge of anything. If there were to be another tumor then the first few nodes into which it might drain would be the Sentinel nodes. Regards ....
Avatar m tn Biopsy was negative on sentinel node, but 5 out of 9 other nodes near the sentinel node, were positive for cancer. Since positive sentinel node involvement increases chance of cancer spreading, how does the "other" nodes positive, but sentinel node negative affect outlook?
Avatar n tn I live in THE Netherlands and here are still psychiatrics and general healthcare physisian which still deny the existence of DID. Most of The time they'll say it's to get attention (borderline personality disorder). It's so frustrating to be misunderstood and being blamed for something you can't stop from happening.
Avatar f tn All things considered, I am wondering if I should opt for mastectomy and avoid radiaiton or go the breast conservation route and radiation. Are chances of a cancer recurrance in that breast more or less or the same? By the way, I am 10% ER positive and PR negative. Thank you for taking the time to respond to all my questions.
Avatar f tn No treatment yet Although the new papers from the NIH and from the group in the Netherlands both used exon sequencing, they differ in one important respect from the project undertaken by the Medical College of Wisconsin - the question of treatment. The Medical College researchers were able to use what they learned from sequencing the boy's genes to shape his treatment. As a result, doctors have recommended that he receive a bone marrow transplant.
Avatar f tn t satisfied with or have confidence in your Oncologist then I would seek a second opinion regarding a treatment plan for your particular situation. Only the Dr.s know ALL the details of your case and can adequately advise as to what treatment would be best. Researching on the internet can give so much information that is so general it rarely can be applied to one's particular circumstances. Get that second opinion if you are having doubts. Regards ....
Avatar m tn AIDS acute period will appear similar to the symptoms of acute gastroenteritis? Symptoms lasted for about four days, infusion improvement in 3 days. It is the acute phase of AIDS symptoms?
Avatar f tn I know you mean well, but I know exactly what I can import and what I cannot. What you linked to and explained applies only if you yourself, as a person, take it with you for your personal needs while traveling. It does not apply to ordering and having the items shipped. I have extensive experience in these matters. There is no problem in importing high dosage vitamin d from The Netherlands, or get 20 000 capsules prescribed.
Avatar n tn I want to change breast surgeon's. Does anyone know a great breast surgeon in the Los Angeles area. I prefer to go to St. John's or UCLA hospitals. I need re-excision surgery and a sentinel node biopsy.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar m tn s physicians, who have all the details of her particular situation, would be the best people to make recommendations regarding a treatment plan. (You did not mention the size of her tumor, ER/PR status, whether additional tests have been done to establish her Stage of BC, etc.) However, as general information, a Grade 3, invasive ductal cancer, with lymph node involvement is normally an indication for chemotherapy. Best wishes to both you and your friend...
Avatar m tn From time to time I meet a man from the Internet and engage in safer sex practices like fellatio (mostly with me performing it) and mutual masturbation. I never engage in anal sex with these men, and I always, always ask about HIV status. My last test was two months ago and the result was negative. So, normally, I'm not very worried about HIV. However, I have a concern that I hope you can address. About three weeks ago or so, I met such a man and I performed fellatio on him for a while.
Avatar n tn The finding of the sentinel node is done in conjunction with the surgery to remove the primary tumor. The results of the sentinel node biopsy does not determine whether a mastectomy or lumpectomy is performed.
Avatar n tn Hi there, Ondansetron is used for treating vomiting. Constipation, dizziness and headache are the most commonly reported side effects associated with its use. These symptoms will ware off once you have stopped using the medication. This is merely an advice and not a substitute for clinical examination. I hope it helps. Best wishes and regards!
Avatar f tn What is it about the anatomy in the axilla that allows nerve damage when doing a sentinel node biopsy? Why, since it is a known risk factor, does it still happen so frequently? Thank you for your time. This forum is wonderful. You provide a great service.
