280369 tn?1316702041 When my guys were small, and even now, we gave them a bit of kayro syrup (sp) (the light kind, not the dark. I don't remember why, but I think it's because there's something in the dark syrup that doesn't help relieve the constipation.). When they were babies we'd mix it in with their milk and in a few hours...oh I had a lovely little present to go along with my happy babies. Now, we just give them a little bit in a teaspoon.
2121625 tn?1350484749 Breastfed babies tend to gain more faster in the first 6 months of life. My lil one is also strictly breastfed. She was born at 6.15... At 6 weeks she was 7.5. She's not gaining very fast so we get weight checks.
Avatar f tn My daughter is The same way no matter what I eat lol.. some babies are just naturally gassy! Also breastfed babies take in air when they feed also....
Avatar f tn All babies can tell if you have milk. I work in childcare with infants and when I have been pregnant or breastfeeding the babies will try to find it if they are breastfed.
Avatar f tn Yes! Even breastfed babies can and often do eat that frequently. I pumped for my son and he got as much as he wanted at every feed and still ate about every 2 hrs. With breastmilk it's perfectly suited for your baby's needs and there isn't any "excess" like with formula. Formula takes longer to digest usually and therefore sits in tummy longer.
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Does anyone know what could possibly be wrong? Thank you.
Avatar f tn My colicky baby cries a lot and gets all knotted up red and agitated when having g colic episodes. I bounce him, drive around, tried pacifiers, carry him front on chest with wrap and carrier, I coo him on my chest belly down, swing chair, bathing n massaging, stroller and even gripe water (mommy's bliss) . Its stressful seeing babies cry like that. How do you soothe your babies? Any more ideas? .
Avatar f tn I was told that breastfed babies poop more than formula babies.

Avatar f tn Breastfed babies don't get gas and reflux as bad as bottle babies (whether it's breast milk or formula, the bottle makes them gassier). But I would still try burping them when they pop off the boob.
Avatar f tn Ladies, can anyone tell me please that which formula is best if I decide to breastfeed as well. I heard similac supplement in States, but I can't find that in Canada.. Please suggest any Canadian moms out there?
8769357 tn?1402719875 If he is breastfed then going once every few days is normal. Breastfed babies don't poop as often as formula babies because breast milk is so easily digested and absorbed there isn't much waste output.
Avatar n tn Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
9590250 tn?1452831684 s breastfed she said he poop 2 times a day maybe 3 and the rest is pee. I heard breastfed babies poop more I might be wrong idk im a ftm Im just going off what I seen & heard.
8395984 tn?1400469103 I doubt you will want to remove them and replace them. And in what world did your breastfed baby eat on a schedule. I breastfed four of five and they stayed attached to me all the time... lol..
Avatar f tn s getting enough. Is he still feeding at night too? Some babies are sleeping 6-8 hour stretches without eating at this age, so if he's doing it during the day it should be OK if he's still eating at night. Keep an eye on his weight gain though.
Avatar f tn Studies show that formula fed babies are more likely to be obesed than breastfed babies. My hubby he was formula fed and is 270 lbs and i was breastfed and im 107 so it seems to be true in our situation. Find out if the obesed ppl in your family were formula or breastfed. You can pump and let others bottle feed. I exclusively breastfeed and the first two months she woke up every 2-3 hours now by 3 months shes sleeping through the night from 12-4:30/5 a.
3055148 tn?1368211800 Even formula fed babies need to have a bowel movement every four days. Breastfed babies usually go more frequently than formula fed babies the first month or two.
