Avatar f tn The pain is specifically on my left side, below the ribs, between the last rib and the hip bone. Right there in the fleshy area of the lower abdomen and going downwards towards the hip. But its specifically on my side, not my back or tummy. Its been a week since symptoms started. Symptoms include a constant achy feeling in the area, sharp pains in the area when i lay down or move positions or laugh or cough. I went to the doc after 5 days. He said its just viral gastroenteritis.

Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.

He told me to go on a liquid diet for 72 hours but to call if it gets worse or I get a fever. Did your doctor suggest an anibiotic? Did he/she ask you to moderate your diet? I'm trying to figure out which over the counter pain medication I can take if I get a headache.

The causes related to nausea,diarrhea,abdominal pain are food poisoinng,gastroenteritis,stomach flu, lactose intolerance, irritable bowel syndrome etc.Parasitic infestations like amoebiasis and giardiasis will also cause watery stools, abdominal cramps,nausea,fever etc.She should take a light diet and drink plenty of water. It gets better with over the counter antacids. Stomach flu can cause indigestion and abdominal discomfort. Viral gastroenteritis can lead to nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. These include stomach disorders such as gastroenteritis and gastritis, liver/gall bladder disease, cancer, medications, inner ear diseases like labrynthitis, ulcers/gastritis, metabolic like diabetes, hypothyroidism and adrenal diseases or neurological causes. I will sincerely advise you to consult a physician and get these possibilities ruled out one by one. I hope it helps.
Avatar f tn The Diastolic at 126 isn't so bad, but the systolic of 92 is considered high,these numbers are the pressure at its most and least on your arteries. I believe this could be an issue for the dizziness/nausea. Does this happen when you change the direction of you head and eyes---if so it could be an inner ear problem..that will make you dizzy/nausea even loose you balance.

Irregular periods, brown discharge during periods can be due to number of causes. Pelvic inflammatory diseases, hormonal imbalances all can lead to these symptoms. Drink plenty of water and fluids to avoid dehydration. You should go to the doctor again and get yourself evaluated.

The other causes could be jaundice if there is yellowish discoloration of skin, food poisoning if the symptoms occurred shortly after taking food, peptic ulcer disease and sometimes cholecystitis and pancreatitis. Avatar n tn Hi, my son spends a lot of time in China. He often gets the stomach problem. Did you get any antibiotics from the doctor? Also, try taking a probiotic (acidophilis, or eat yogurt). Usually, before my son goes there he gets a prescription for antibiotics. I think Cipro is the one they give for the stomach. I'm not sure about the chest pain. Could it possibly be from jet lag and body aches from traveling?
