I am in such severe pain just laying here typing this and barely moving.. Please help. Thank you.
1872406 tn?1320890391 We rescued a little kitten approx 6 weeks old who has been diagnosed with viral gastroenteritis. The prognosis by the vet is poor and I'm wondering if there is anything else we can do other than keep her hydrated and treat/prevent secondary infections. Please help- really appreciate any advice or past experience that you may have... Thanks in advance...
Avatar f tn Viral gastroenteritis symptoms may appear 1-3 days after you are infected and can range from mild to severe. Symptoms usually last just a day or two, but occasionally they may persist as long as 10 days. Because the symptoms are similar, it is easy to confuse diarrhea caused by viruses with diarrhea caused by bacteria (e.g., Clostridium difficile, salmonella, and E. coli) or parasites (e.g., giardia). If your symptoms persist, see your doctor for further workup and management.
Avatar n tn Well certain viral infections can cause hemolyzed blood in urine. Check again in a day or two. If this persists then go back to your doctor. UTI and stone are the commonest cause. Cancers of urinary system or some drugs too cause blood in urine. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn what do you mean ? give more details. what symptoms?
Avatar n tn Since Feleuk can cause problems anywhere in the body, the symptoms would depend upon where the disease is located. For example in the gastroenteritis form, anywhere from the mouth to the anus can be effected. There could be mouth problems such as stomatitis, chronic periodontal disease, in addition to vomiting and diarrhea. In the polyarthritis, immunosuppressive form, a cat could have lameness, joint swelling and pain.
Avatar f tn Your symptoms could be due to a number of things which are difficult to assess on net. It could be due to viral fever, gastroenteritis or stomach flu, acidity, or anxiety and stress. If you are feeling nauseous, then you can take antacid gel. Talk to your parents as discussing your worries often helps. Also, exercise, walking, yoga is therapeutic. Avatar f tn Started 4 months ago with a bad stomach bug which I couldn’t shift for ages and drs thought was gastroenteritis. Had feelings of fatigue and weakness accompanying and some dizziness. Then about 6 weeks ago I started getting really tight neck muscles and tingling numbish arms and hands in the mornings upon waking which went away after getting up and moving. Also had twitches all over in feet calves thighs stomach arms and face which really frighten me.
Avatar n tn As you already seem to know, the main infections risked by analingus are viral and bacterial intestinal infections, not traditional STDs. In other words, if you catch anything at all, it probably would cause a combination of nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea for a few days, nothing more. However, you certainly are not "virtually guaranteed" to acquire such an infection. Maybe a 5% chance as a guess; but that's only a guess.
3166043 tn?1514260018 This is likely to be a viral gastroenteritis which should subside on its own in 5-10 days. I would suggest taking plenty of fluids with added sugar and salt/ commercially available oral rehydration solution to compensate for the fluids lost. If the symptoms do not settle in 5-10 days or there is development of additional symptoms such as blood in stools, I would suggest an evaluation by a primary care physician for appropriate management.
Avatar f tn Assuming the symptoms are acute, this is likely to be a case of viral gastroenteritis. You could try taking plenty of fluids to keep yourself adequately hydrated and some OTC anti spasmodics for the pain. If the pain is severe, of you have dizziness or blood in stools or the diarrhoea does not seem to get better in 4-5 days, it is advised to see a primary care physician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn Hello, Some symptoms of viral infection of the abdomen like in viral gastroenteritis may prolong for some time(10-12) days after treatment of infection also. This is due to effect of virus on the stomach causing its irritation. Since it happened after a viral infection,so causes could be dehydration and decreased amount of minerals like sodium and potassium in the body.It can also occur because of hypoglycemia or improper sleep during the infection.
Avatar f tn I'm about 6-7 weeks and my morning sickness is horrible. Unless I take nausea meds I throw up every 30 min and can't keep anything down. At the ER they said I had viral gastroenteritis but that was over a week ago. Does anyone have morning sickness this bad??
Avatar n tn I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV. She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
