Just take it easy, eat bland foods and rest a lot. Personally I would not take pain killers just because they can cause stomach issues and on a stomach that's already inflamed it can make it worse.
While many things can cause stomach pain, it's extremely doubtful to be anything else if you were just exposed to people with stomach virus and then started to show classic symptoms of it.
My daughter is 14 months old and she has has watery diarrhea and vomitting. When she was born she was perfectly healthy, but once I had to return to work I began to give her formula and that's when she began to have these complications. She began to have watery diarrhea and vomit. I took her to the doctor and they said she had gastroenteritis, but it's been a while now and she is still the same? Well my anxiety actually started last April ever since my friend and previous co worker died because of heart attack, I never had the chance to be more focus and happy of my life because i have been thinking of it until i started having had a problem with my excess/vowel and cost me gastroenteritis and made my potassium low until got rushed to the ER. That day i thought i was having heart attack or stroke or something that trigger cramps on both hands and feet.
but i have never been as ill as this in my life - i have back pain ( top and lower ) the worst gas and indegestion ever and nausea causing me to retch but not actally be sick. my stomach and abdomen are so bloated i cant even lie on my side . i have put on 3 lb in a few days. the symptoms do worsen when i eat , even though i usualy eat like a horse i am only eating a little as it hurts and i always feel full!!
Hi there. Starting on 3AM last Friday, I started having symptoms of what I thought was the flu going around. Diarrhea, vomiting, fever (101.5), muscle aches (mild to severe), sweats and chills, stiffness, weakness, some dizziness, no appetite. I automatically assumed it was the influenza virus but in almost everywhere I read, it says a cough and/or sore throat almost always follow. I've had neither, nor have I had any chest pain.
You could try taking plenty of fluids to keep yourself adequately hydrated and some OTC anti spasmodics for the pain. If the pain is severe, of you have dizziness or blood in stools or the diarrhoea does not seem to get better in 4-5 days, it is advised to see a primary care physician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management.

Your response definitely put me at ease 2 weeks ago, but I'm having a hard time letting my HIV concers go for the following reasons. (1) I'm still fighting naseau/diareah (for almost 4 weeks), (2) I had a rash all over my face and neck last night and (3) I started having severe lower back pain 2 days ago. I'm worried these are symptoms of ARS.
The most common cause for this type of severe pain which starts at the back just below the rib cage and radiates to the front and goes into the pelvis is Renal colic. It occurs as episodes of pain recurring in nature. The pain is spasmodic in nature as the ureter is trying to push through the obstruction, which is usually a renal stone. The ureter is the tubular structure that connects the kidney to the bladder.
I went up there and took her to the doctor and she was basically told is was a stomach virus (gastroenteritis) drink plenty of fluids and it should go away in a couple of days but when I look up Gastroenteritis it says that it's common in people with weaken immune system caused by HIV.
She took her 3 month birth control shot the morning before but I'm sure that didn't cause Gastroenteritis. My question is should I be concerned about HIV at this point.
Hello! I seem to have unfortunately caught gastroenteritis. I was given Ondansentron and it helped immensely. However, I can't sleep. I'm so wired and my stomach still hurts but luckily, no side effects. Is this normal? Is it the gastroenteritis or the drug?
The next day my lower back has starting hurting. I went in on Tuesday for pain in the back and she prescribed naxoprene and a muscle relaxer. The pain went away once from the pain medicine and now does nothing. I've been having bouts of diarrhea and then constipation also. Today my back pain is excrutiating and the past two days my stools have been dark brown/black. My last bm was lighter. I have had my gallbladder removed. I'm not quite sure if I should be worried and my Dr.
its been about a month now and my stool varies with every deffacation from semi hard to pure liquid to very loose im wondering how i can repair this and get back to normal. i also have had pains in my lower left abdominal region almost like i am constipated but even after a bowel movement it it still there. should i go back to the gastro specialist or is there something i can do that will be less drastic?

I felt fine within a few hours, then went to the doctor and had everything checked and she said she thought it was Gastroenteritis. My vitals were all good.
Since Tuesday I still hear groaning, creeky and bubbly sounds especially in the morning. Today for my cheat day I bought some cookies, but 20 minutes after eating them I ran to the bathroom. I also feel more anxious, worried these days with job issues...so overall I'm not sure if this is an IBS flare up, or colitis or what.
