Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.

Avatar f tn My fiance and I are disagreeing on how many pack n plays to have. We had once given to us, but I want to buy a new one. I want to keep the new one here and use the one given to us for when we travel. What is every one else opinion on this?
1318202 tn?1274307827 It’s usually fine to pack interferon on ice and place it in a cooler; it’s shipped this way, and lasts for days. I’m diabetic and have traveled with both IFN and insulin this way without any significant problems.
Avatar f tn s something I have slowly been picking away at, as I remember something I pack it. Plus a lot of things I need to pack for myself are things I use on a regular basis still. So I would slowly work on it, then when the day comes, you're either fully packed, or just need to throw in a few items and be on your way!
Avatar m tn I did a lot of international travel during tx and had no problems. For a long flight I would pack it with one of the frozen thingies that came with every shipment. At security I would tell TSA that I was carrying injectable meds and syringes with a cold pack. They were real good about it. I always carried copies of my prescriptions but nobody ever asked for one.
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have any experience in this sector or for that matter any international sector? Airline advises me to carry the pegasys in thermocol packs with ice pack and in checked in baggage. All your views would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I have both a regular wood crib and travel crib which is the playpen/crib. I was gonna put the wooden one in her nursery and the travel one in my room since I'm gonna be breastfeeding. But I don't know how safe the travel crib is for her to sleep during the night. With my 3 yearold son we ended up not using the crib and doing the co sleeping, but since then the hubby has become a really hard sleeper. So I'm afraid that he would roll on her in the middle of the night.
Avatar f tn I bought a diabetic travel pack which is nylon zippered ice pack about the size of a book. It would hold an injection needle, INF, RBV supply and for my 2nd tx VX950 (which also requires refrigeration) along with my script for all. At the airport I'd quietly ask a TSA person to side and explain I was taking a form of Chemo....no further questions. They were very gracious about the whole thing. I'd wait to see how you are feeling after your first couple of shots.

Avatar f tn My doctor said to pack my bags just in case something happened earlier but I have no idea what to pack. what would you pack in your hospital bag?
Avatar f tn Also pack your basic travel toiletries also toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush, slippers. For the baby bring a take home outfit, socks, coat if you live where it's colder. Honestly the hospital provides you with mostly everything you need. Diapers, wipes, receiving blankets, diaper rash creme.

Travel sized deaoderant for me and him, travel sized tooth brushes and tooth paste and a razor for each of us, and lip balm. I packed some pads in a ziplock baggie, two pairs of undies for me (in case I bleed through one) , warm fuzzy socks and slippers. A nursing bra will be added soon. Avatar f tn On my first baby (and the plan for this one) I uses pampers swadlers. I used a bassinet fir the first 2 weeks in my room, then put her in he crib. I had a hard time sleeping with her in my room, because she was sick a noisy sleeper. I have a pack n play for travel. You don't really need a bassinet if you have a pack n play though. I have a Chicco stroller and carseat carrier for about the first year.

545538 tn?1295992017 Get a note from your doctor saying that you must travel with interferon, an injectable medication. Carry on a small six pack cooler with an ice pack and hand it to the person as you go through security. If it is a long flight, bring a ziplock bag and ask the attendant for ice. I flew international a couple months ago and had no problems at all. If you are still concerned you can call your airline and they will put a note on your reservation.
