Its my understanding that you have to inject forteo for two years and following that you have the reclast IV.....one is no good without the other says my physician........I am losing my hair, gaining weight and now severe leg cramoing....I stopped injections today after 6 months of injections........

Forteo is a man-made form of a hormone called parathyroid that exists naturally in the body. Forteo increases bone density and increases bone strength to help prevent fractures.
Forteo is used to treat osteoporosis in men and women who have a high risk of bone fracture.
Forteo can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Avoid smoking cigarettes, or try to quit smoking altogether.
My experience with Forteo is that the calcium does not rise much and these are not common side effects - but it is possible. Also, would re-evaluate pre-Forteo PTH and calcium levels to make sure you did not have mild primary hyperpara before starting Forteo. If still in doubt, sometimes a break from the medication and a future re-challenge can help establish cause-effect.
I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
I've been on Forteo since Feb 2011. I don't think I am having Forteo related arthralgia or any other side effects from it. I DO have sacro-iliac pain on one side only, but I believe it is from 2 falls in the past 3 months that were NOT caused by Forteo. I do know it's hard to find any forums anywhere that have current informantion or women on them.
Someone once posted a helpful video site on how to inject pegasys and I was wondering it there is any information on how to inject procrit.
My last two hgb blood test results were 9.7 and 9.4 , so my doctor is going to order procrit for me.
I am going to get procrit 40,000 units per ml per week.
Is that the dose that everyone else is doing?
Do you have to mix the solution or measure it out to inject ?
My mind is a bit foggy these days....

i bought my own vial on the internet and my neighbor showed me how to inject it. But I really rather not do it myself...shes a nurse and made it seem so simple.
i am glad you mentioned the drops...it seemed so much easier to do that but I want to keep doing the injections
Are you deficient in B12 or just tired from working and life??
That said, if your Procrit arrived on Monday and your Peg shot night was Friday, then you might want to inject the Procrit Monday so it would start to work sooner. As to maximizing its effect by taking it in some relationship to the interferon, Im unaware and my medical team gave me no instructions in that regard.
Hi, I was just wondering how I can go about asking my husband if he is doing drugs again. He's a very hot headed person to begin with, and when he is on whatever he his on, it's worse. I don't want him to go off on me if I ask him, but I need to know what the deal is. He has admitted to me that he takes pills (I think he said Percocet), but he said it was occasionally. He had a short stint with heroin, but I hear it's really addicting.
