I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.

As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista.
Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful!

I am almost done going through months of all the motions needed to take prior to starting Gilenya- the tests, vaccines, etc.
I was contacted by the Gilenya Go Program. They sent me a form to fill out. Once they received my form I was approved for their financial assistance program, which covers all costs for 1 year. After 1 year, I believe I need to reapply.
Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.

I would still try to get insurance even if its after open enrollment. I got on mine and it wasnt open enrollment..just took a few extra steps.

You are way past the enrollment period to get gov. Subsidized health insurance - insurance that you would have received a tax break on and the type that is heavily regulated in what they can and cannot do.
Because you had access to health insurance and chose to remain uninsured you may not be able to get an insurance company to cover any of your prenatal care, because it is a preexisting condition.
Depends on when schools start in your area. Where I am I believe as long as the birthday is before the enrollment shouldn't be a problem. I have heard of parents with children who have birthday's later in the month petitioning the school board for enrollment.
