Common Questions and Answers about Forteo blog

forteo

Avatar f tn I have been on Forteo daily injections for 1 year and I have experienced considerable joint pains which did not exist prior to treatment. My left hip and knee, my right knee and my hands have been getting worse each month. Has anyone else experienced similar reactions?
Avatar f tn My doctor told me that I have Osteoporosis and wants me to try Forteo an injection for two years. Has anyone tried this drug and what were your side effects, if any. I don't want to make my stomach problems worse than there already are.
Avatar f tn I have severe osteoporosis and am trying to take Forteo. I started out with half dose and have worked up to a full dose. The full dose 2 days in a row was disabling. My doctor suggested every other day. So I let the previous trial work its way out of my system for 5 days and tried another full dose. This is three days after the dose and I am weaker each day. I move in slow motion. My doctor is puzzled. Anyone had a similar experience?
Avatar f tn Just was informed that I have osteoporosis. My doctor wants me to use Forteo, an injection that you use for two years.
Avatar f tn As for myself, I am a patient suffering from severe osteoporosis. My doctor, realizing I cannot afford Forteo ($950 per month!), has suggested I try to find how I can take the equivalent, generic version, which is Bonista. Please, if anyone can tell me how to get ahold of this medication, any address, emails of sellers, etc! I would be so grateful! This discussion is related to Bonista-side effects.
4489852 tn?1375753951 This is not a question, but I wanted to post my blog on here for other people to read if they wanted to. I had a hard time finding a chiari blog that was kept up to date and was current, so I wanted to start one not only so that i could have record of everything, but also so that other people could read my story and see that they are not alone in this fight. This is the blog I started in April.
1853014 tn?1340038575 I think this is the blog you are talking about. It is excellent. You can see there are many, many pages of valuable information. Plus it is written very well and has some humor too. http://hep-free.
908504 tn?1269103899 He also wanted me to try the injections of Forteo but my Aunt had bone cancer in her hips so I am somewhat leary of that drug. Any info will be greatly appreciated as I am in really bad pain.
Avatar f tn Hi-- When you say Medicare, I assume it is Medicare Part D, administered by an insurance company like Blue Cross, etc? If so, you might be in for sticker shock. I had a similar experience w/ Forteo, via Part D, they wanted $5K for 3 months. I went directly to Lilly, and qualified for pro bono meds for 2 years, the limit of tx on Forteo. My understanding is patients with cirrhosis get priority. Other Gilead experienced persons, and there are a few here, can tell you more.
Nicelady Medications themselves can be classified as antiresorptive or bone anabolic agents. Teriparatide (Forteo) is also approved for the treatment of postmenopausal women who have severe osteoporosis and are considered at high risk for fractures. The medicine is given through daily shots underneath the skin and you can give these shots even at home. Another advantage is that it can be given in patients who cannot tolerate oral biphosphonate drugs.
599170 tn?1300973893 I really liked the black guy who sang Deligha ( remember he had the cute baby at auditions) what is his name I hope he makes it,.,I like the blind guy too...and the little country girl with blonde hair...willl blog more after the show tonight...gotta love it!!!
Avatar m tn Thanks for your feedback. My case has baffled most doctors. I drink alot of water, eat a healthy diet and don't smoke or drink. The only meds I take are for my bones (Forteo) as I found out that I had extreme osteoporosis in Nov. 2008. I have had my circualtion checked several times and it is reduced in my "weaker" foot. There is no blockages and I have no rare diseases.... My problem is only becoming worse and noone knows why....

897070 tn?1320652629 Has anyone been unable to find the hepc new drugs and liver health blog, looks like its disappeared and my twitter feed has gone as well. This is the janis and friends follow on blog. Anyone know where its gone ?
Avatar f tn My suggestion to MedHelp would be that if a blogger was to place your advertisement on their blog, for free, that the blog be allowed to publicly share their blog on the MedHelp forums despite having self-advertisement. I think that would only be fair as most bloggers charge advertisers for ad space.
5889098 tn?1376225220 Hello Ladies! I have just started my Lupron Depot treatment and have started a blog to document my experience.
