Two years ago I developed a UTI. In January to be exact. I was prescribed Bactrim and fluconazole in case yeast infection was to arise. I do not know how long it took for symptoms to arise after taking this medication, because I was unaware any side effects could ever effect me, and also... I'm not really the one to... pin point the how and why? well until now.
Some time ... hours, minutes , days after the oral dose of Bactrim I did develop a yeast infection.
A small section of my right cheek,Doctor first prescribed anti fungal cream (clotrimazole)+fluconazole weekly tabs for three weeks, cleared for a week then problem still persisted,urine test for chlamydia was negative,blood tests including blood sugar level normal.I dont expect much from the pinworm test and culture test since clotrimazole had cleared the small roughness (the skin looked normal all the way)Could be candida?BUT also i have BPH...could it be a prostate infection?
Ok this isnt my age group but im not getting answers and was hoping you guys could help. I went to the doc today because I knew I had a uti but this is my first yeast infection ever. They gave me Fluconazole for the yeast infection and 250mg ampicillin that I have to take two at a time 3 times a day. My question is does anyone have experience with either of these meds and do they work quickly? I'm super miserable.
I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.
Hi, im 25. So i started having UTI symptoms together with a mild vaginal itch and i did a urine MCS & HVS. S.aureus was seen in my urine but nothing in the HVS. i was prescribed ciproflox. Fastforward to 3days on the drug i started having this intense vaginal itch on my labia minora accompanied by vaginal rash on my labia minora. I have completed my dose and i'm still having mild itching.
I did a full STI test and everything came out negative. the collected sample came out negative for herpes. I got a UTI went to an urgent care got prescribed Ciprofloxacin went to an OBGNY again cause i had a heating sensation when taking the Ciprofloxacin again I did a STI screening took urine sample and Nitrite was detected as well as Leukocytes but i was already treating for the UTI again everything negative.
Just over two weeks after my last treatment I paid the online sti clinic in London to do mycoplasma, trichomonas, hsv and ureaplasma tests and these were also negative as was a uti test but my inflammation remains.
1. I have read a lot online and wonder if it is worth me trying the two known nsu treatments which I have not had...doxycycline for one week or one dose of fluconazole in case it is thrush?
2. Is there any infection that could survive the above that doxy would kill?
I took fluconazole Monday for bladder yeast infection have some relief , but not 100% better yet. What should I do?
Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

It all started out last March I got my first yeast infection and UTI at the same time from a Marathon, mind you I was a virgin at the time so it was not from sex. Following that I continued to get them on and off, after meeting my boyfriend and now being sexually active I get yeast infection every week. I get the symptoms for a couple of days and then they go away and come back a couple of days later. I have taken Fluconazole over 5 times.
hi , itis possible for urine infection to spread to vagina and even prostate in men it results as a complication from a uti and usually comes from bacteria in the gut most likely e coli - you on antibiotics ? is the vaginal infection thrush ? coz if so thats fungus not bacteria and antibiotics wont help that 1 dose of fluconazole will tho .
I have recently been diagnosed with a UTI and BV, and am taking antibiotics for those. However I am still having pains in my abdomen. They feel like sharp pains, often on the right above my hip, sometimes lower. I recently had a surgical abortion. The doctor assured me it is not an ectopic pregnancy. They also assured me it is not PID, however my symptoms do seem similar to this. The doctor felt my stomach and also doesn't think it is appendicitis.
Is it possible to have a UTI if you have no evidence for it from the urine culture test? If I have an infection from Strep or adenovirus what antibiotics should I take?

i stopped having the bjs and took some fluconazole pills and all done!
After visiting the doctor for discomfort/pain upon urination following a possible STD exposure, I was prescribed Cipro for 5 days and Doxycycline for 10 days(both for UTI, Chlamydia), Fluconazole for 2 doses (elevated yeast infection via urine sample) and was given the gonorrhea shot. My doctor gave me the meds for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea prior to getting the urinalysis results.
one week post exposure was tested for UTI and hepatitis and herpes 1/2. negative for UTI/culture, neg for hepatitis, positive for herpes 1 igG test 5.12 and negative for herpes 2 igG < 0.91. tested one week later again and was 5.07 fo herpes 1 and 0.91 for herpes 2 (equivocal). also neg for chlamydia and gonorrhea at this time. negative for bacteria and yeast.
ve suffered from these conditions before and it was very hard to treat but was eventually cleared with a course of Fluconazole and some pessaries. I had been on a course of antibiotics for a UTI previous to the first outbreak. This time, it makes no sense. I was taking Raspberry Ketone and Chromium supplements for weight loss and I guessed this could be the result of a side effect?

I went to the doctor about a week ago because i had symptoms of a UTI. Doc tested my urine and said it was clean. then did a full examination and tested me for syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia. All came back negative. I was positive for a yeast infection. my doc gave me an antibiotics called Fluconazole 200mg (take one every 3 days).
Also a cream to put on affected area called Nystatin/Triamcinolone.I didnt use the cream like i was suppose to (twice a day for 7 days).
I have already gone to the Department of Health in my town and gotten tested, but they did not give me antibiotics for gonorrhea and chlamydia because they did not think I was at high risk and would prefer to wait for the results of the test. They said they thought it could possibly be a UTI instead, but I've heard that those are nearly nonexistent in young men.
So my questions are "how high-risk do you think my situation was?
Anyone ever take fluconazole 150mg oral pill for a yeast infection in their first trimester. I phoned a pharmacist and he said it was fine and all the research I've done says as long as it's not in high doses the baby should be ok, but I am having some major anxiety.
