I took fluconazole Monday for bladder yeast infection have some relief , but not 100% better yet. What should I do?
I was prescribed Bactrim and fluconazole in case yeast infection was to arise. I do not know how long it took for symptoms to arise after taking this medication, because I was unaware any side effects could ever effect me, and also... I'm not really the one to... pin point the how and why? well until now.
Some time ... hours, minutes , days after the oral dose of Bactrim I did develop a yeast infection. I mean, I had all the symptoms of one... and it was just brought on suddenly .

I am 22 years old and have been dealing with on an off yeast infections for over a year. It all started out last March I got my first yeast infection and UTI at the same time from a Marathon, mind you I was a virgin at the time so it was not from sex. Following that I continued to get them on and off, after meeting my boyfriend and now being sexually active I get yeast infection every week.
A small section of my right cheek,Doctor first prescribed anti fungal cream (clotrimazole)+fluconazole weekly tabs for three weeks, cleared for a week then problem still persisted,urine test for chlamydia was negative,blood tests including blood sugar level normal.I dont expect much from the pinworm test and culture test since clotrimazole had cleared the small roughness (the skin looked normal all the way)Could be candida?BUT also i have BPH...could it be a prostate infection?
I went to the doc today because I knew I had a uti but this is my first yeast infection ever. They gave me Fluconazole for the yeast infection and 250mg ampicillin that I have to take two at a time 3 times a day. My question is does anyone have experience with either of these meds and do they work quickly? I'm super miserable.
I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.
I did a full STI test and everything came out negative. the collected sample came out negative for herpes. I got a UTI went to an urgent care got prescribed Ciprofloxacin went to an OBGNY again cause i had a heating sensation when taking the Ciprofloxacin again I did a STI screening took urine sample and Nitrite was detected as well as Leukocytes but i was already treating for the UTI again everything negative.
Hi, im 25. So i started having UTI symptoms together with a mild vaginal itch and i did a urine MCS & HVS. S.aureus was seen in my urine but nothing in the HVS. i was prescribed ciproflox. Fastforward to 3days on the drug i started having this intense vaginal itch on my labia minora accompanied by vaginal rash on my labia minora. I have completed my dose and i'm still having mild itching.
I was then given a prescription for an antifungal cream for 10 days, and then also got prescribed fluconazole 150mg once per week for 2 weeks. I'm on the 10th day of the antifungal cream, and the redness is still present. It has improved, but it could just be from the time that's passed and not the cream/pill. There has never been any itching from the redness nor has there been any spreading of it.

was found during my annual) and my dr (who is new and i do not normally see) prescribed me diflucan for 12 weeks, one pill, once a week. I have never heard of this or treated a yeast infection with diflucan like this before and am starting to think this doctor I saw was a quack/slave to drug company kind of doctor. Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.

I have recently been diagnosed with a UTI and BV, and am taking antibiotics for those. However I am still having pains in my abdomen. They feel like sharp pains, often on the right above my hip, sometimes lower. I recently had a surgical abortion. The doctor assured me it is not an ectopic pregnancy. They also assured me it is not PID, however my symptoms do seem similar to this. The doctor felt my stomach and also doesn't think it is appendicitis.
ve also had similar problems especially the itching which has led me to believe that mine is a possible yeast infection, you may have to change your diet if your eating or drinking junk food too, which is better for you anyways, my suggestion is go get checked by a doctor and start ruling out things so you can narrow it down, also if your sexually active with more than one partner or they are and not protected, all parties should get checked.
After visiting the doctor for discomfort/pain upon urination following a possible STD exposure, I was prescribed Cipro for 5 days and Doxycycline for 10 days(both for UTI, Chlamydia), Fluconazole for 2 doses (elevated yeast infection via urine sample) and was given the gonorrhea shot. My doctor gave me the meds for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea prior to getting the urinalysis results.
one week post exposure was tested for UTI and hepatitis and herpes 1/2. negative for UTI/culture, neg for hepatitis, positive for herpes 1 igG test 5.12 and negative for herpes 2 igG < 0.91. tested one week later again and was 5.07 fo herpes 1 and 0.91 for herpes 2 (equivocal). also neg for chlamydia and gonorrhea at this time. negative for bacteria and yeast.
For yeast infections I was always given either monistat or fluconazole. A bacterial infection like BV would require metronidazole (flagyl).

I have already gone to the Department of Health in my town and gotten tested, but they did not give me antibiotics for gonorrhea and chlamydia because they did not think I was at high risk and would prefer to wait for the results of the test. They said they thought it could possibly be a UTI instead, but I've heard that those are nearly nonexistent in young men.
So my questions are "how high-risk do you think my situation was?
I was positive for a yeast infection. my doc gave me an antibiotics called Fluconazole 200mg (take one every 3 days).
Also a cream to put on affected area called Nystatin/Triamcinolone.I didnt use the cream like i was suppose to (twice a day for 7 days). I finished the medicine and still had burning at end of urination. I went back to the doctor and and tested my urine again and it was clean.
Hi doctor,i got this jock itch last year, first i tried tropical oitment like clotrimazole and miconazole but dint help. Then a doctor friend of mine suggested me fluconazole tabs once a week, after taking and applying oitment, it was cured but again came back after 10 days. Then i tried itraconazole 200mg a day for a month as suggested by another friend. It cured my itch but again came back after 10 days .
