I went to the doc today because I knew I had a uti but this is my first yeast infection ever. They gave me Fluconazole for the yeast infection and 250mg ampicillin that I have to take two at a time 3 times a day. My question is does anyone have experience with either of these meds and do they work quickly? I'm super miserable.
t know why I am still getting these pains, and can they be from a UTI and BV? Also I have oral thrush from the antibiotics and have had it for about 1 week. I am treating with coconut oil, corsodyl mouthwash and also natural yoghurt. However it does not seem to be clearing.. The pain is better but the White/yellow covering has not dissappeared from my tongue!! Please help!!

I am 22 years old and have been dealing with on an off yeast infections for over a year. It all started out last March I got my first yeast infection and UTI at the same time from a Marathon, mind you I was a virgin at the time so it was not from sex. Following that I continued to get them on and off, after meeting my boyfriend and now being sexually active I get yeast infection every week.
Haven't had an outbreak last 3yrs but recently 3months ago it resurfaced ,for the first time it came together with an itchy butt which was not much of a problem then ,Doc prescribed valaciclovir 500mg ten days and it surely cleared.Strangely enough the butt itching didn't go.The itching is only in one of butt cheeks,and only a small area alone near the hairy section no bumps,just a rough skin on very close examination.The itching mostly occur at night.
I have had uti since 2 years old (kidney reflux) that turned into to major kidney stone problem and I was infected with ESBL ecoli. For the past 2 years I have a fungal infection in my urine. I have had 6 rounds of diflucan to no avail. My urology dr is at a loss. Should I be seeing an infectious disease dr at this point? When I take diflucan I feel better quickly. Once I stop within a few days I feel terrible again. They prescribe diflucan for 14 days. Had it 6 x’s. Always comes back.
Hi, im 25. So i started having UTI symptoms together with a mild vaginal itch and i did a urine MCS & HVS. S.aureus was seen in my urine but nothing in the HVS. i was prescribed ciproflox. Fastforward to 3days on the drug i started having this intense vaginal itch on my labia minora accompanied by vaginal rash on my labia minora. I have completed my dose and i'm still having mild itching.
The lesion returned again in the same spot I went to the OBGNY they took a sample of the virus and i was prescribed fluconazole 150 mg and nystatin-triamcinolone 100,000 unit/g-0.1 % topical cream again i was told it may be herpes. Hyphae/Candida was detected. And now again i have a lesion on my outer vagina lip in the same spot reddish and looks irritated like it was scratched and i'm worried. What could the lesion be? do i really have herpes? is it a reaction?
Just over two weeks after my last treatment I paid the online sti clinic in London to do mycoplasma, trichomonas, hsv and ureaplasma tests and these were also negative as was a uti test but my inflammation remains.
1. I have read a lot online and wonder if it is worth me trying the two known nsu treatments which I have not had...doxycycline for one week or one dose of fluconazole in case it is thrush?
2. Is there any infection that could survive the above that doxy would kill?
one week post exposure was tested for UTI and hepatitis and herpes 1/2. negative for UTI/culture, neg for hepatitis, positive for herpes 1 igG test 5.12 and negative for herpes 2 igG < 0.91. tested one week later again and was 5.07 fo herpes 1 and 0.91 for herpes 2 (equivocal). also neg for chlamydia and gonorrhea at this time. negative for bacteria and yeast.
Two years ago I developed a UTI. In January to be exact. I was prescribed Bactrim and fluconazole in case yeast infection was to arise. I do not know how long it took for symptoms to arise after taking this medication, because I was unaware any side effects could ever effect me, and also... I'm not really the one to... pin point the how and why? well until now.
Some time ... hours, minutes , days after the oral dose of Bactrim I did develop a yeast infection.
Within a week I ended up with major Vulvar burning and redness, always external. I was treated for a UTI as well as three times for a yeast infection. I had a full Pap done as well as STD testing. Both Chalmadia and Ghonerra came back negative. My Pap came back normal as well as every thing else. The burning went away after about 3-4 weeks. I assumed it was the yeast infection and that the medicine finally did it's thing.
Fast forward to present day and the issue is back.
The antibiotics I was given were called fluconazole so are for Skin / Fungal infections so wouldnt have cured internal infections such as UTI or NSU.

There are no known interactions between fluconazole and propranolol, so you can safely take them together.

Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Fluconazole is an antifungal and one pill stays in the blood stream for 3 days. It is normal to take a 'loading dose' the first time which helps get a jump start on the infection. I would take it as the doctor directed.

A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
hi , itis possible for urine infection to spread to vagina and even prostate in men it results as a complication from a uti and usually comes from bacteria in the gut most likely e coli - you on antibiotics ? is the vaginal infection thrush ? coz if so thats fungus not bacteria and antibiotics wont help that 1 dose of fluconazole will tho .
It is not killing probiotic cultures in your bowels. And 6 weeks is not really longterm, especially since fluconazole is not an antibiotic, but an antifungal. Candida is a mean one, and hard to get rid of. But Candida hates a balanced diet with lots of beans, veggies, wholemeal, yoghurt and fruits. Reduce your meat and sugar intake to aid the meds to kill it off. Good luck!
So they have treated you for yeast (fluconazole), the bacteria that causes bacterial vaginosis (secnidazole), chlamydia and NGU (azithromycin), and gonorrhea and a UTI (cefuroxime).
If it's adenovirus, it will just take time, but I'd imagine you'd have white blood cells. Strep would have probably shown up in your urine if you had that, and azithromycin would have probably cured that, too.
Your symptoms don't look at all like herpes.
I went to the doctor. It is a UTI and yeast. Also a tear between my lady area and anus. I have bumps down there too (warts), which means it can be an STD, but it doesn't make sense to me because I've only been with 1 person, my boyfriend. He's only been with me. We haven't had any other partners. I've been with him over 2 and a half years, and never had any problems. Do you know any other reasons why I might have genital warts?
Doctor suspected UTI and gave antibiotic after three days everything came to normal and i had antibiotic 1000mg for one week. I had HIV test also it was also negative. I had protected sex again one week ago. After having sex I realised the same itching and burning sensation inside the penis.
Is this a STD ? may it cause infertility ?

Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
I am not sure where to begin. I am prone to getting uti's- multiple a year. I recently got put on antibiotics for a uti, when I finished I was to start on a daily dose of antibiotics to prevent bacteria from building up. My vagina began drying out, and I had white discharge that seems to cover my entire vulva down to my anus when it dried. It was painful. I've developed small pimple like bumps around my butt, not on my vagina. They look like they had a white head.
