Fluconazole dosage treatment

Common Questions and Answers about Fluconazole dosage treatment

diflucan

Avatar n tn He is Rxing fluconazole for 6 weeks, one tab a day, 100mg. Is this safe? I am healthy for the most part, 40 yr old female with Hashimoto's. My main symptom is chronic stomach bloating. He is doing an ultrsound and x-ray of abdomen as well but wanted to get advice on this long term use of fluconazole. Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn The amount of time for which fluconazole stays in the system depends on the dosage. It also varies with the body systems. On average it will be active in the body for about a week. Hence consult your dermatologist and get the fungal culture repeated only when he /she advises. Hope that this information helps and hope that you get better soon. Wishing you good health.

Avatar m tn I have uploaded an image. I have been on an antifungal treatment for two months, but it was of noo benefit. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn A month ago I self diagnosed and treated a yeast infection based on my previous yeast infection (diagnosed by a doctor a few years ago). I treated with Monistat (miconazole)cream, which mostly cleared up my symptoms. I still felt somewhat irritated down there so I went to the doctor. She took a swab sample that came back negative for yeast/bacteria/gonorrhea/chlamydia.I felt fine for 2 weeks, then felt intense burning during intercourse . A few days after that, the itch was back.
Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply. I've already been on fluconazole for over two weeks. My probme is that while some parts of my body is getting cleared up, new lesions have also appeared in the past few days. Is it normal to get more lesions during a treatment? Is this a sign that fluconazole isn't effective and I should switch to something else?
Avatar f tn Have any of you ladies taken a single dose of fluconazole 150 mg during pregnancy?
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever taken fluconazole? It's a tablet you take (only one) for yeast infection. My pharmacist said it's not for pregnant women but when I called the doc and told him what the pharmacist said he said it was ok to take. Has anyone else been prescribed this? I'm worried.
Avatar f tn my dr gave me fluconazole for my infection ,3 pills in 3 days .should we skip or take it regular.because she told me take it wednesday ,thursday ,and sunday,,thank..

Avatar n tn So my doc prescribe me fluconazole for a yeast infection I'm currently 30wks pregnant, when I picked it up it had 2 little packets in it with one pill each and doc says to take 1 a day but as I'm reading the instructions it says 1pill clears everything and you only need a 1time dosage. Do I take both pills or just one why would he prescribe me 2 if directions clearly state 1? Any ladies ever had to take for yeast infection while preggo what did your doc prescribe?
Avatar f tn About a year and a half ago-just as my thyroid problems were getting bad and before I was put on treatment for them- I got unbearably itchy skin that would keep me awake at night and began to come up in these ugly, small, round, bright red bumps on my arms and legs and thighs. It's over a year on now and I'm on 25 mg thyroxine (though I think I may need a higher dosage) and the rash is still there, worse than ever.
Avatar f tn I took Fluconazole for a yeast infection a month ago. I had develope three small rash on my chin. Today when I got up I notice the rash is on the side of my nose and near my left eye. I do know that one of the side affect of this medication is rash. is this normal to have a rash that is spreading and has lasted for weeks because of this medication?
Avatar m tn When you starve the candida (very low carb, no sugar, no yeast, no alcohol anti-candida diet) coupled with the anti-fungal treatment -fluconazole which is the standard medical treatment & coconut oil- it will eventually get eradicated. Probiotics also help fight Candida by replenishing your healthy gut flora, but must be good quality and wire spectrum The rule of thumb is 1-2 months of treatment per year from the onset, which BTW is unsymptomatic at first.
938326 tn?1300878804 that is what I used with my first pregnancy. You cannot take diflucan/fluconazole (pills) but you can use OTC insertables...such as monistat or a store brand.
Avatar f tn Apparently I can consistently getting yeast infections due to hormonam imbalance. I'm afraid to overdose on the fluconazole. Is there a natural way of getting rid of it? I'm thinking cranberry juice but should I drink it once in a while or is there another alternative. Because I have to avoid sugar in order to fix my hormonal imbalance.
Avatar f tn Your doctor can also prescribe an antifungal medication to take by mouth. You can also purchase 100mg Fluconazole a one single dose oral capsule without a prescription, but I feel that you will require a stronger dose and a longer course than one day. Ask your doctor to take a skin swab to identify that you do have a fungal problem and/or any other bacteria on those skin areas, so that you can get the appropriate treatment.
689655 tn?1227249113 My doctor prescribed fluconazole. She told me to take one pill each week for 6 months. The prescription information states that I should see results within 3-5 days. It has been 2 weeks now and just as I thought it was completely cleared up, it seems to be returning just slightly again. Does anyone have any experience with a situation like this? Should I call the doctor or wait 'till my next appt. in 3 weeks? I also have an ovarian cyst (reason for follow up appt.
Avatar f tn s lasted around 4 months in genital area, tested for STDs all negative. Doctor unsure as no obvious rash, prescribed 4 weeks of fluconazole to see if it is a fungal infection, 50mg every morning for 4 weeks. Now the itching is still present 3 weeks in, would you expect the itching to have subsided by now? I'm unsure how this drug works. Also I seemed to develop a small red rash whilst on these tablets that comes and goes?
Avatar m tn So I was diagnosed with a yeast infection earlier in the month and was prescribed fluconazole for it. But a few days later I seen my partner again and we did it without protection and he thinks he has it as well.
Avatar f tn ive had a vaginal yeast infection for MONTHS now, I have had several cultures come back positive but no treatment seems to work. My last culture came back positive for C. Parapsilosis and supposedly Fluconzole was supposed to treat it. I am now on a daily dose of 200mg fluconazole alone with oral Lamisil for 6 weeks. I am almost at 2 weeks of treatment with ZERO improvement. Is there anything else I could try? Does this treatment just need longer to work?
Avatar f tn I was then prescribed Nystatin oral suspension (3 bottles) and using it helped, but it did not completely clear the thrush. I went to my GP and he then prescribed Fluconazole tablets for me (50mg for 22 days). This has not cleared the thrush either. Up till now, my thrush is still not cleared (since november 2010). I am afraid that it might have become very resistant to medication. Could you please advise me on what to do? Are there any other medications that I can take?
