Flonase while pregnant

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase while pregnant

flovent

Avatar f tn Also was very agitated while first taking the Flonase and no where in the pamphlet does it mention this is a side effect or to call your doctor if you start coughing, etc. Should have checked the internet like I always do. Needless to say, I am trying not to regret this too much and try to get well.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
Avatar f tn Flonase...isn't that addictive?? Just use a netti pot. I think there are low dose zinc lozenges and supplements. I'd get a 2nd opinion r research more, but imho & recent experience: sore throat came on and went away on its own. So how about just trying a little extra water and orange juice, or squeeze fresh lemon into warm or hot water? Would you give your baby flonase for stuffy nose? If not, don't use it for yourself either. Think about the fact that you can have a baby...
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
7993104 tn?1396090856 While awaiting an appointment for a sleep study, my doc has me on oxygen at night. For the past few nights, when I wake up, my chest feels tight, sponge-like and I am wheezy. I feel almost like I need a nebulizer treatment. I cough for a while and my the late morning I feel better but it is concerning. Is this normal? I would like to point out that while I snore, I didn't go to the doc complaining of any sleep issues. I feel that I sleep better w/o all that stuff on me.
Avatar f tn Did your doctor say what it is, bump or pimple? How do you feel the bump? Is it in the area between the outside skin on your nose and the air channel, or is it against an inside wall of you nose? Your bumps may be the same as my ear lobe experience. I often have a bump in my ear lobe and while it doesn't bother me much I find myself squeezing the ear lobe with my fingers to feel the bump.
Avatar m tn I was using flonase every day a couple of years ago and after a while I stated having brief episodes of tachycardia. I asked my EP if it could be flonase and he said most definitely. Told me not to use it every day, to try backing off to every couple of days and see if that helped. I still use it once in a while but I try not to swallow it, I try to spit it out when it starts running down my throat.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar n tn You should get a nasal steroid such a Flonase or Nasacort and start using it a month or so before the allergy season starts. These are prescription medications but Flonase is now generic so it should be cheaper now. It really works great.
Avatar n tn Moved to Chicago several years ago from Phoenix so the doctor suggested that I may be suffering from allergies as a result. Blood test confirmed grass allergy. Have been using Flonase (SP?) for about 1 month coupled with nasal rinsing system but still have the ringing and drainage. Should I be worried about another culprit besides allergies causing these awful symptoms?? In addition, is there any other over-the-counter meds that may be of use. Thank you.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
1472764 tn?1287588186 Well I've been doing everything wrong during this pregnancy. Before I found out I went ice skating, had a girl's night out at a smoky bar and got drunk, and did a bunch of stomach crunches while exercising. Well I just found out I shouldn't be taking my flonase or prilosec. I hope I haven't done too much damage to the little guy.
1939607 tn?1324289300 Hello and hope you are doing well. Your symptoms could most probably be due to tonsillitis. Throat pain, difficulty swallowing, fever, scratchiness in the throat, post nasal drip, malaise and loss of appetite are symptoms of tonsillitis. Recurrent tonsillitis is an indication for tonsillectomy, as the tonsils may harbor the infection which keeps flaring up, or they may develop new infections. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance.
Avatar n tn Hello, ever since at least early this year (Jan/Feb maybe earlier) I have had something on my right nostrils septum growing. it grew for a while and I had something that felt similar in the other nostrils septum grow and was unable to see it well. I work 2 jobs and I am a full time student so I went to the schools health center and the nurse said she is not sure what it was, but it didn't look cancerous to her. she said try using Flonase as a steroid and or Bactaide on it.
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar f tn It started pounding and throbbing. I have never had headaches this bad before. Even while the parachute glide, my head was still in pain. After 1.5 hrs of bad headaches, I went to the ER and had a ct scan. The doctor said it was clear and gave me fioricet for the pain. I saw a neurologist on Tuesday who prescribe frova and naprelan 500mg for my condition. I had blood work, EEG test, and MRI tests done on Tues/Wed/Thurs.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
10404685 tn?1418830427 Yes!! I haven't found anything that helps though. But I seriously feel like my sinuses are full of cement.
Avatar f tn ve been keeping flonase on me at all times bc I have chronic sinusitis but never had it while pregnant and was wondering what will help or what is something's I could try that is safe and affective ? This is my 5th baby but never had any of this while lregnant with the other 4. Humidifiers usually don't help me for some reason just need more options.
Avatar n tn I have went quite a while without a nose spray or antihistamine being ok. Then i will get stuffy/sinus pressure. My Dr ordered a CT scan a year ago and said i had a deviated septum and some nasal polyps. I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up.
Avatar f tn Several years ago my doctor told me I had post nasal drip and prescribed Flonase. I use it every morning. But at night I snore really bad. My poor husband has really bad sinus issues, worse than mine but he doesn't snore half as bad as me. But when I wake up in the morning I have so much mucus in my throat and I can't cough it all up, just some. My nose isn't too bad in the mornings but it gets worse throughout the day.
867954 tn?1356900863 I've had chronic sinus infections pretty much for years. I got a new doctor lately, who is a lot faster at seeing me, etc. Anyway, long story short lately I hear at times a thumping noise in my right ear mainly, it's only happened in the left a handful of times. When it happens in the right, it usually goes on for 24 hours at a time, obviously annoying enough to cause me some loss of sleep, aggravation, etc.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar f tn Have you been tested for any bacterial infections, like Strep throat? Bad smells are sometimes associated with bacterial infections. If it's not getting better, you should definitely go back to the doctor instead of self-medicating with Flonase. If it's not allergies, Flonase won't help and might make the situation worse.
