Common Questions and Answers about Flonase twice a day

flovent

Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
464237 tn?1315670793 The flonase is usually once or twice daily. I would take it and call monday to be sure. A day or two will not be a big issue if you would like to wait. Either way, there shouldn't be a problem. Are you taking steroids? I saw that you have been diagnosed with EBV?
Avatar n tn Hi...I am on numerous meds...heart(tachycardia arrythmia)-ATENOLOL; High Cholesterol-CRESTOR; Hernia-PRAVACHOL; Fibromyalgia & Osteo-Arthrytis-KETOROLAC; water retention-LASIX; Sinus-FLONASE; Dysrythmia-ATIVAN. I have also been on EFFEXOR for 5 years for severe depression. My dosage has been increased twice in the past month--I now take 187.5 mg...I woke up at about 12 midnight last Sunday and I have no recall of the past 4 days; however, I apparently withdrew $7000.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
Avatar n tn The doc said it was a virus with Eustachian tube dysfunction . Sge put me on Flonase The sore throat went awar but was left with a persistent cough for a week . I would wake up and it was so hard to swallow because the Mucus in my throat was so sick. After the cough subside I started to have throat pain again when I wake up then it would proceed to get better during the day and then towards the end of the day it's uncomfortable to say the least .
Avatar m tn I was using flonase every day a couple of years ago and after a while I stated having brief episodes of tachycardia. I asked my EP if it could be flonase and he said most definitely. Told me not to use it every day, to try backing off to every couple of days and see if that helped. I still use it once in a while but I try not to swallow it, I try to spit it out when it starts running down my throat.
Avatar n tn I remembered it two days ago and ended up irritating it the next day, where it was inflamed. I used Flonase the past two days and put bactide on it twice yesterday. Today it seems to be "dormant" again and not irritating me unless bothered. I will be seeing an ENT next weds. Is this something I should be very stressed about?
2114467 tn?1358210256 They can really dry you at as it is and I noticed I was urinating less frequently when I took Allegra (Fexofenadine) during the day and the Benedryl at night. I had to make a conscious effort to drink water almost all the time.
Avatar f tn Hello! I've been dealing with stuffiness on and off for about 3-4 weeks now. Originally my doctors thought it was a sinus infection and gave me antibiotics. However, I think it started off with bad allergies (possibly) and because I used Afrin longer than suppose to, I'm thinking it turned into rebound congestion. Some days I have 0 congestion and some days I have some. Recently I started to cut down on the afrin (I went from twice a day to once a day) and I'm using Flonase.
Avatar n tn The breathing in(through the nose) will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for 20 to 30 minutes twice a day.(Max 60 min/day) Not for pregnant women. Seriously ill people do it gently. Once you are better, continue the pranayam once a day. Be patient, as the benefits will show over a period of months.Only by doing you will benefit and feel good because you are helping your body. Those who say I have tried everything.... will be amazed at the result of doing pranayam.
Avatar n tn Hi...I have never heard of that med, but in research see it is used for reflux and gerd jut like the meds I am aware of. The dr will RX meds for the mgs and dosage ( times per day) per ur symptoms and how much healing u need.....I am on a gerd med and take it twice a day..... If u also modify ur diet and lifestyle u may heal a bit faster and be able to cut back on teh dosage faster.
Avatar n tn Throughout I have been doing the Netti Pot twice a day and using Flonase. First sinus infection and rarely have headaches. Neither have I ever had a history of high blood pressure, which is now all over the place. One day it was 165/106, the next morning it was back down to 110/73! Is surgery to clear it out my best option?
Avatar m tn ve had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion. I have some acid reflux problems, but I've got a prescription acid reducer that I take for that daily so I don't think that's the problem. Could the Flonase be the cause?
3240655 tn?1346723677 I've had surgery to straighten a deviated septum(2011). I had the surgery because I complained about the lingering odor. Months later the sweet rotten smell returned. A recent CT scan revealed two normal sized cysts in my upper left sinuses. But I only was recommended Flonase. The ENT persuaded me from surgery to remove the cyst, because he didn't think it would help, in his experience. He also believed, my problems may be because of allergies.
20896457 tn?1592763839 Her symptoms cleared once again while on the antibiotic and returned three days after the antibiotic was finished. The Dr also suggested a nasal spray like Flonase but I wanted to hold off on trying that. I finally gave in and bought some yesterday. Although I'm not sure it's allergy related because the symptoms go away while on antibiotics. I'm starting to really get stressed about not knowing what's wrong and not being able to help her.

Avatar n tn org/posts/Family-Health/Odd-swelling-on-side-of-nose/show/228206. He suggests a sinus CT. Has this been offered to you or are they trying the Flonase first? Here is information on Flonase https://www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?

Avatar n tn Any suggestions. I woke up one day and felt like their was a constant lump in my throat as well as a weird feeling like the back of my tongue is dry or burning(hard to explain). my doctor said it was nasal drip, gave my Flonase but this made my tongue feel more "dry". I went to an ENT and he said it's lpr and gave me omeprazole twice a day.
