Common Questions and Answers about Flonase or veramyst

flovent

Avatar m tn I would love to know if the last 4 months of having low energy has anything to do with the Veramyst. Does anyone have any experience with this or know anything about it? Thank you for your input.
Avatar m tn I understand that use of antibiotics and nasal steroids (Like Flonase, and Veramyst, for example) can cause the problem, and make it worse. Since this fungus naturally exists in all of us, diagnosis is difficult, (therefore making it hard for your Doctor to diagnose) but if you have a positive reaction to the GSE, I believe it would strongly suggest that a fungus overgrowth is the problem. If so, you probably want to take care of it yourself.
Avatar n tn I would start by giving the Veramyst more time. It should reduce the inflamation of the olefactory nerve that is most likely causing your phantom smoke smell. In addition to that, you should research phantosmia ( searching parosmia might help you find them faster). There are several groups devoted to the subject out there with good resources and tips. Hang in there. My friends who have dealt with it did get better.
Avatar n tn org/posts/Family-Health/Odd-swelling-on-side-of-nose/show/228206. He suggests a sinus CT. Has this been offered to you or are they trying the Flonase first? Here is information on Flonase https://www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar n tn I had a WLE performed which came back negative for malignancy. There were no other treatments or procedures to go through; and based on the primary characteristics of the tumor, my oncologist told me he was 95 - 98% sure I would not have any problems from this. I recently heard about this allergy nasal spray called Veramyst and called my physician for a perscription. They told me they could not perscribe because of my melanoma diagnosis.
Avatar m tn I would also recommend that maybe you try one of the other nasal steroids. There are quite a few to chose from - Veramyst, Flonase, Omnaris to name a few. Different medicines work differently for different people, so one of the other options may work for you. Also, there are several other classes of nasal sprays you can try - nasal antihistamines (Astrepro and Patanase, anticholinergic (Atrovent - ipratroprium bromate), and mast cell stabilizer (NasalCrom - an OTC). Keep us posted.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
464237 tn?1315670793 The flonase is usually once or twice daily. I would take it and call monday to be sure. A day or two will not be a big issue if you would like to wait. Either way, there shouldn't be a problem. Are you taking steroids? I saw that you have been diagnosed with EBV?
Avatar m tn it revealed several polyps through out my sinuses, pus in my left cheek sinus, and airpocket in another sinus, deviated septum and my turbinates are 4x larger then they should be .im on xyzyal which is like zyrtec, veramyst, singular and i take claritin every day...
Avatar m tn I'm 22 male, active and have real high Bp (i guess heriditary) but I'm hoping to get this under control soon with my meds(hydrochloric thiazides, amlodipine) but this started before treatment ... I've had pressure above my nose for over a month now and a weird feeling in the back of my head (spaced out/dizzy kinda feeling) its stronger sometimes then others but is constantly around I recently had a brain/head ct scan and they said all was normal...
Avatar f tn In the mean time, another antibiotic and she renewed the Flonase (I decided to not take what she gave me or very little). Now, I have symptoms of Acid Reflux and I believe this is all due to the fact that I started something I never should have. I haven't been sleeping and don't know when I will. Very frustrated and not sure what to do. Seeing my primary on Monday to discuss what to do and if I should maybe take Prilosec to see if the Acid Reflux symptoms subside.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar m tn Also, i have a knot feeling in my throat, could this be caused by the GERD? also will the immunotheropy with the meds take care of this or do i need to go back to the doctor. I feel like a lot of this is due to the anxiety and meds but not sure. here is what i am taking. Nexium, Allegra, Veramyst, Asmanex, lexapro, Allergy Drops. have the ativan, albuteral just in case but dont use them regularly. What to do?
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar n tn methylprednisolone(steroidpack),clerinex, avelox,&i called her got cheratussin ac syrup, veramyst spray(this dries my nose so i dont take it eryday), halls, soup, hot h2 o, more soup, hot cocoa,& gained 4 lbs. in 3 days HA!
Avatar m tn Anyone's knowledge or help on this post is greatly appreciated. I'm 22 and currently diagnosed with chronic sinisitis by my local physician after he looked down my throat. I have no green or yellow mucous though my nose is staying inflamed and irritated (no polyps or deviated septum). My occipital lympnodes and also a neck lympnodes are swollen and have been since I've had this(month and a half).
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar f tn I can however use just a steroid inhaler along with the Nasonex nose spray, it seemed to work very well for me. Should I try staying with this or try Singular? I thought I read up on Singular as causing liver issues. What do you think would be the safest way to go? Or the best? I LOVE breathing better !! I will be needing most of this daily. Thank you for your time !!
Avatar m tn Thanks for the answer. I visited my dentist just about 2 weeks ago and reported the sinus and tooth pain problems. He checked the x-ray, teeth, and gums and found no issues. The tooth pain tracks the yellow mucus. Thanks for the suggestion. Sinus Dynamics is an inhaled anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antifungal. I found it on a web search.
Avatar f tn Have you been tested for any bacterial infections, like Strep throat? Bad smells are sometimes associated with bacterial infections. If it's not getting better, you should definitely go back to the doctor instead of self-medicating with Flonase. If it's not allergies, Flonase won't help and might make the situation worse.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
Avatar n tn I keep having these headaches or tightness like symptoms at the center of my forehead, between my eye browes. I am on claritin D and rhinocort nasal sprays. I get weekly allergy shots. Medicine and shots help but not completely. I live in southeast michigan area. When I travel away from there, I start to feel better. Especially if I go further east toward Canada or go out of state. What is it that makes me sick all the time around where I live.
Avatar f tn t feel it when I put my finger up my nose only feel it when I scrunch my nose up or wiggle it. My dr also suggested not using my Flonase for a week or so that it might be causing the soreness and bump haven't used it in 2 days and starting to feel a little better.
545538 tn?1295992017 Allergy meds should be fine however we get so dehydrated on tx that you might want to consider waiting a little while until the meds get absorbed and then use some saline to clean you nasal passages and water them up a bit. I know when I take any benedryl or flonase type thing I get a bit dehydrated from them as it is........on tx well doesn't sound like fun!
