464237 tn?1315670793 What a coincidence First week I used over the counter Flonase I caught a nasty cold. a few weeks later I used it again and caught another flu type illness. I just read these posts and have figured out that Flonase lowers the immune systems. Throwing this stuff out!

Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
1939607 tn?1324289300 yeast infections of the throat and sinus problems (also Flonase side-effects). Almost all mentioned taking Flonase or similar nasal sprays for the initial illness (cold or sinus infection). I believe that people start taking the flonase to help cold/flu/sinus infection, and then it gives us this traveling, achy sore in the Eustachian tubes. I often cough up these dry little patches after a cold, like tiny white scabs.

Avatar m tn My son had a cold a few weeks back with a gagging cough and wonder if he has psyched himself out that if he eats he will gag? I am really worried for him and also frustrated.
Avatar n tn The doc said it was a virus with Eustachian tube dysfunction . Sge put me on Flonase The sore throat went awar but was left with a persistent cough for a week . I would wake up and it was so hard to swallow because the Mucus in my throat was so sick. After the cough subside I started to have throat pain again when I wake up then it would proceed to get better during the day and then towards the end of the day it's uncomfortable to say the least .

Avatar f tn I caught a cold about 2 weeks ago and I developed a sinus infection. I have a history of Asthma, High Blood Pressure, Sleep Apnea and Sero-Negative Rheumatoid Arthritis. My best peak flow is 500. I am a 56 year old woman and was not on any preventative asthma meds at the time of catching the cold and development of the sinus infection.
Avatar n tn I've had this for about 4 years. Dr. says to use Flonase daily, so just started it. I think it might be from sinus but I have no symptoms.
479419 tn?1208127685 It is important to know if you are using flonase on a regular basis. Flonase is a nasal steroid and should not be used regularly as it is a predisposing factor for sinusitis. If allergies are the likely cause it is important to get an allergy test done to find out the potential allergens and then avoiding them. The link below will provide more information on how to prevent sinus infections. http://www.sinuswars.com/preventions.asp Hope this helps!
Avatar m tn I have had a left thyroid lobectomy with isthmusectomy for a 3cm thyroid nodule. The nodule was Hot as diagnosed from being Hyperthyroid and via thyroid scan. The surgery in Sept. The biopsy report of the specimen showed Chronic Thryoiditis. I tested positive for TGaB and TSI before surgery and TGab since the surgery. Since the surgery I have been struggling with joint pain, muscle aches, hair loss, and some sinus/ear pressure issues. Lab Results November - TSH was 2.6 (range .3-4.
Avatar n tn I had a sinus infection at 32 weeks. My Dr put me on antibiotics and recommended tylenol cold and sinus for my symptoms but I don't think you're supposed to take that during the first trimester. Check with your doctor.
Avatar f tn t been feeling well. You can always call and ask your doctor these questions for guidance. Flonase is known to reduce nasal inflammation over time. The best thing is to blow your nose prior to using it and then wait as long as you possibly can before blowing your nose again. The longer you wait, the better chance the Flonase has of being absorbed into your nasal cavity. The most common recommendation is 15 to 30 minutes to wait to blow your nose after using. https://www.webmd.
Avatar m tn Did the doc suggest trying occasional antihistamines. He can also give you a prescription for cortisone nose spray like flonase. You could get some allergy tests, could be allergic to something, like pet hair. Keep yourself from breathing in cold air also, could make it worse. Try vicks rub on your throat also and get those tests and talk more to the doc for more referrals for allergist and prescriptions if it doesn't get better soon. If you have pets, might be pet dander.
Avatar n tn There are a lot of steroid nasal sprays that you might react better too. Nose bleeds are a common side effect so a different brand may help better. Others are ayamys, nasacort, or nasonex, plus many others. Nasal rinsing using a neti pot or neil med sinus rinse may also help flush out anything that is in your sinuses and there is a much lower risk of bleeding since there is no medication, it's just pure saline.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar n tn t look cancerous to her. she said try using Flonase as a steroid and or Bactaide on it. I did so for a few days then kind of forgot. Upon finally inspecting it today, It looks like a cluster of 3 or so small white jagged firm peeks/lumps/bumps resembling either a cluster of something or a raised sore that cracked. It is almost pure white, but its in ways up my septum so its hard to see clearly. Most of the time it is not noticeable unless irritated.
Avatar f tn Developed a cough about10 days later and saw my regular physician (probably much later than I should have, about two more weeks) and she gave me an antibiotic that helped for a while and told me that if this continues, to have a chest x-ray. Did that and they found two very small nodules that they think are benign (possible calcium deposits). I now need to wait two months to see what is going on with that.
Avatar f tn I have had allergies all my 62 years. My doctor a few years ago put on otc Flonase but now I have Cochlear hydrops in my left year .
