Flonase eye problems

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase eye problems

flovent

Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar f tn In the past year and a half or so I have started having eye sight problems, seeing odd spots, floaters. The weird part about that is sometimes they are really bad, other times I don't have the problem at all. The eye trouble always seems to be at its worst when my allergies/post nasal drip is at its worst. I would swear there is a relationship, the doctors seem to think it isn't possible. Other stuff that may or may not be related..
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar n tn I wake up to red, runny eyes that are super itchy. I was itching so hard that I wrinkled my eye membrane..freaky! I went through virtuwell and they said it was allergic conjunctivitis prescribing Olopatadine drops. Its been about 6 days now and no real relief. I've tried Zyrtec, Flonase, Benedryl and now Claratin with very limited relief. Anyone have a magic combination that works?
454221 tn?1259445739 I have been having throat issues since march 08. At the same time I had bronchitis or possibly pnuemonia. I have this feeling that something is in my throat or something is swollen. I went to a pulmonary doc. because I had wheezing about every two weeks that would last for a couple of minutes. Nothing drastic. It would not keep me from breathing just more of a annoying problem. My lung doc tested my blood for several tests.
Avatar n tn Normally my symptoms are pressure and tightness above my eyes, especially above the right eye. To get rid of it I start out with Claritin-D then if needed flonase, saline sprays, and Ibuprofen. They don't seem to give me complete relief. I have had this problem for long time. As I mentioned in my last post, when I am away from my home area (southeast Michigan), I feel a little better. Such as, when I travel south to other states, or east to Toronto area, I feel better.
Avatar f tn ve had nose pain in my right nostril that causes forehead pain/pressure and pressure behind my eye and eyebrow. Usually, the pressure/pain stays on the right side, the side where my nose also hurts. I've looked at it and it appears the nasal turbinate is inflamed/irritated compared to the one in my left nostril. It does hurt to touch that side of my nose. I don't exactly know what is causing it, but the pressure gets worse when I go running outside.
Avatar f tn My prescription did go up (quite a bit from only last year of getting my eyes checked) and one eye is now slightly worse than the other (both eyes use to be the same). My eye pressure is normal (10 in one eye, 12 in the other). I done a visual field test which came back okay except for one spot, however the doctor said it was just a mole within my eye and nothing to worry about (probably could have had that my whole life), and she dilated my eyes. Everything came back good.
Avatar m tn Hi for the last year I've had troubles breathing. I sometimes feel I'm having heart issues and run to er, finally i Had some heart work up that was negative. I finally visited a ENT for my allergies and he noticed I have a deviated septum and large turbinates. Is it normal to breath from one nostril at a time with the other cometly blocked or is that an indication of imflamation in the sinuses. I do get alot of nasle poping everymorning and its like good relief when they pop.
Avatar m tn The thing that started me on the path to a-fib 13 yrs ago was ephedrine and pseudo-ephedrine as found (or used to be found) in Nyquil. The ephedrine I got from Metabolife, a diet aid popular in the 90's. I wouldn't touch that stuff with a ten foot pole now. I'm not sure but I think epinephrine might cause problems too. Just always check the ingredients on the bottle and if there's any doubt call your Dr.s office or at least your local pharmacist.
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.
Avatar f tn She said a bump and it is on the inside toward the front inside wall of my nose. I can't feel it when I put my finger up my nose only feel it when I scrunch my nose up or wiggle it. My dr also suggested not using my Flonase for a week or so that it might be causing the soreness and bump haven't used it in 2 days and starting to feel a little better.
464237 tn?1315670793 t want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection? Have any of you used flonase for infection. My infection is not allergy related, it came from a cold that was going around. Thanks so much for reading. and yes I have been using nasal irrigation along with all of the other home remedies I have found on the internet.
Avatar f tn I have chronic post nasal drip. I've had it for several years. The ENT told me I have a narrow passage and mild deviated septum. He told me Flonase wouldn't help me much. So I just take allergy meds and use saline when needed. But the past month I have been getting these pains/headache above my left eye, actually above my eyebrow. It comes and goes several times a day. It only last 30 seconds to maybe a couple minutes but I was thinking it was due to sinuses or allergies?
3240655 tn?1346723677 A recent CT scan revealed two normal sized cysts in my upper left sinuses. But I only was recommended Flonase. The ENT persuaded me from surgery to remove the cyst, because he didn't think it would help, in his experience. He also believed, my problems may be because of allergies. He would go for the surgery if I wanted though. I'm trying the Flonase for the last 3 months with no change in sweet rotten smell from sinus.
Avatar m tn It all started when I did a few lines of cocaine in November of 2007. Shortly after I developed serious sinus problems where I had major swelling on the inside of my nose along with pain on the bridge. And then........I woke up with ringing in my ears 1 1/2 weeks later. The ringing got louder as the sinus problems continued. Short of 3 sinus infections to date I really don't have too much to complain about with my sinuses. The tinnitus on the other hand is a big problem.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar f tn Are you taking flonase?? Google blogs on flonase side effects. It was amazing and doctors don't tell you this stuff. I am not taking flonase as of today!!
Avatar m tn s lower lip is going side ways while talking and her tears are rolling only from her left eye and unable to close her left eyelid in full , ct-scan shows nevery thing is normal in brain
Avatar f tn I was sent to a second endocrinologist that told me my issue is because of Flonase, I gained weight and that my pituitary tumor is only 3 mm and that it’s small and they would bet me it would go away in a year. I explained to the Dr that I only use Flonase during allergy season and we were still 3 -4 weeks away from that. She also refused to listen to me when I told her all my issues happened when I was working out, losing body fat and gaining muscle overall dropping 25-30 pounds.
