Flonase back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase back pain

Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
464237 tn?1315670793 The pain went away within two hours yesterday after shots buit woke up this morning and pain is back as well as the post nasal drip. The doctor also prescribed me Flonase nasal spray for the infection but I read the info on it and it says do not take if you have an infection because it is a steroid and it lowers the immune systom. So I'm terrified to use it because I don't want the infection to get even worse. How is it ok to use flonase for bacterial infection?
Avatar f tn Have you been tested for any bacterial infections, like Strep throat? Bad smells are sometimes associated with bacterial infections. If it's not getting better, you should definitely go back to the doctor instead of self-medicating with Flonase. If it's not allergies, Flonase won't help and might make the situation worse.
1939607 tn?1324289300 The doctor ordered me to let it run its course and so it did. In 2 days time i was feeling great, i got back to work (i am a teacher) and everything was fantastic. 10 days later (about 2-3 weeks ago) I got ill with some virus that made my throat sore again and gave me a stuffy nose that I am still battling. In the last month, the strangest thing has been happening to me. I wake up feeling okay and around early evening I get a unilateral sore throat.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar m tn Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
Avatar m tn I went to an allergist and found out I have allergies ( to pollen, grass, dust, and pets) so I began taking Flonase, Zyrtec, and Mucinex D, but this did not help either. Upper GI tract test came back normal. Thyriod gland test came back normal. Chest x-ray came back normal. I'm otherwise healthy. Please someone help!!!!!!! What else could be causing my throat problems and what should I take for it??????
Avatar n tn I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety. I see my Doctor next week but my questions are: Could that have been Allergy induced Asthma? Could it start now even though i am 26? And how common is Multiple Chemical Sensitivity? And can Perinnial Rhinitus Allergies get worse with time?
Avatar n tn Thank you for responding. It only took me about 3 years to respond back. I apologize for that. Since my last post, 3 years ago, I still have the same tightness and pressure in my forehead area, especially in the middle, between my eye brows. Normally my symptoms are pressure and tightness above my eyes, especially above the right eye. To get rid of it I start out with Claritin-D then if needed flonase, saline sprays, and Ibuprofen. They don't seem to give me complete relief.
Avatar f tn Several years ago my doctor told me I had post nasal drip and prescribed Flonase. I use it every morning. But at night I snore really bad. My poor husband has really bad sinus issues, worse than mine but he doesn't snore half as bad as me. But when I wake up in the morning I have so much mucus in my throat and I can't cough it all up, just some. My nose isn't too bad in the mornings but it gets worse throughout the day.
Avatar f tn I have allergies and chronic sinusitis which makes me cough frequently and severely causing me unbearable pain in the back of my head like it is going to explode. It is almost too much to handle and it happens way too often. Any suggestions or advice please ?
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
504569 tn?1210454440 Went to Doctor was told bronchitis, well i had it many times in my life and was never like this, never had such green mucus in the large amounts or throat and ear pain, given z pack, back to doctor again after 3 more weeks given flonase and steroid. Don't know if flonase or steroid helped but feeling some better, just hoping there is no relapse..
Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.
Avatar m tn I am also on 100mcg of Flonase per day.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar f tn Did your doctor say what it is, bump or pimple? How do you feel the bump? Is it in the area between the outside skin on your nose and the air channel, or is it against an inside wall of you nose? Your bumps may be the same as my ear lobe experience. I often have a bump in my ear lobe and while it doesn't bother me much I find myself squeezing the ear lobe with my fingers to feel the bump.
Avatar m tn My 5yr old son has always been a good eater. Pretty much eats anything. For the last 2 weeks he has been eating very little, chewing it forever and then seems to have a problem swallowing it. He doesn't complain of a sore throat or stomach ache. We took him to the doctor to check and see if he had strep. He didn't. He was a little stuffy and the doctor gave him Flonase to help clear things out in the hopes this would help. She said to give it a week and then give her a call.

Avatar f tn ENT said eustachian tube dysfunction due to allergies (tested positive for various inhalent allergies) and said to use Xyzal and Flonase. Xyzal made me too sleepy so stopped, and Flonase has done nothing. ENT said it would take Flonase a month to clear up the ETD. The constant ear popping wouldn't bother me if it weren't accompanied by the lightheadedness and brain fog, which sometimes by the end of the day turns into a very bad headache and then disappears.
Avatar f tn ve done/taken, the symptoms have only mildly improved - maybe 30% with the zyrtec, flonase, and filter combined. I never stop feeling the drainage down the back of my throat. It just never stops, ever. What should I do? What CAN I do?!
Avatar m tn Flonase is for allergies so it should help but if it continues I would go get tested for allergies. It only takes a few hours and most of the time you'll know what you are allergic to right then and there. If its your cat then, they'll give you whatever medication to help and try to keep your cat away from where you sleep in the meantime. I have a dog and I know that's hard but that is supposed to be helpful. Good luck!
479419 tn?1208127685 I have frequent migranes and lots of times are with my sinus pain. Avatar m tn My nose is usually stuffy and Ill get a brief shooting pain (moderate) sometimes where my right occipital lymp node is swollen depending on how i turn my head. Has anyone ever had chronic sinusitis or swollen lymp node pain? I've seen a doc, he did a head ct scan, chest X-ray, blood work all was normal... can anyone relate or give some knowledge? It's greatly appreciated!
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
Avatar f tn t take really any allergy meds due to issues with tachycardia and palpitations. My doctor suggested Flonase, but I am allergic to sulfur (used a sulfur mask once and my whole face swelled huge, used to have to brush me teeth with sulfur water and my entire mouth would get blisters) and I noticed that Flonase contains sulfur in its makeup. Can I use it?
