Avatar f tn I've never had allergies of any kind. Then I noticed my nose was runny sometimes. Sneezing some. Nothing alarming. Then I woke up and was having trouble swallowing - felt like something was stuck in my throat. Doc said there was tons of drainage - the diagnosis: allergies. I started zyrtec and flonase, and got a HEPA air purifier. I've had that for about 2 weeks. Annnd now I've developed ear infections in BOTH ears due to the allergies, even taking all that and with the filter.
Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar f tn ve tried 3 different antibiotics for sinus infection. Also tried flonase, allegra, and Sudafed. Nothing seems to help. I feel pressure mostly in my forehead. I don't have any congestion with mucus or anything. I've had a sinus x-ray, CT scan, and MRI, which were all fine and showed nothing wrong with sinuses. I usually clean my ears out with a q tip after showering. I used to get some wax out, however, after this started, I can't get any wax out.
Avatar n tn I took Flonase and Zyrtech or Claritin. You can also take Benadryl.
Avatar f tn O ok
Avatar m tn One doctor said I have postnasal drip due to the bad flu i had in December. I’ve taken Flonase, mucinex, and sudafed and don’t notice any difference in my need to cough up mucus after eating or drinking. I’ve had trouble swallowing for a year and a half and have had an esophagram and an endoscopy recently which showed esophageal rings, gastritis, and gastric polyp. I don’t have a stricture. Doctor suspects Esophagitis.
Avatar f tn Yea its okay my doctor prescribed it to me at 8 months
1663704 tn?1302912377 I have had fluid behind my eardrum since September 2010. My physician looked and saw fluid behind my eardrum and said it's caused from allergies or sinuses. I do have allergies and postnasal drainage. I was prescribed Flonase for 30 days, which didn't work, then prescribed a 7 day steroid medication, this didn't help either. I have tried Allegra D, Mucinex D, Mucinex, Sudafed, Sudafed PE, Afrin, etc. I am currently trying Zyrtec.
Avatar f tn I find that I have to space them out by many hours or I get very jittery if take as an example Sudafed and my Synthroid together ... I make a judgment call and usually take the Sudafed in the AM and then do the Synthroid much later ... together they make me very anxiety ridden for hours.
Avatar m tn • Random headaches & head pains all around my head and sometimes even my neck • Feeling of Having to put effort into breathing • Severe ear pain which strikes at random • Tingling all around head, neck, and face • Neck tightness • Neck spasms when sitting still and breathing (occurs at random) • Randomly feeling sick, mostly in my head only • Electric rush feeling in head when i move my eyes around • odd throbbing sensation in my forehead and front of neck whenever i sit still and br
Avatar n tn Have tried several medications such as Zyrtec D, Flonase, Nasonex, Xyzal....also nasal rinses, and some vitamins and herbs...nothing works for long. Today the doc decided to start testing me for allergies to try to get to the root of the fluid and swelling in my ears. Your results sound interesting. I have in the past from time to time has what I think are fever blisters around the corners of my mouth. Is there a test for Herpes simplex 1? I may mention this to my ENT next time I go there.
Avatar n tn I suffer from bad sinus, chronic sinusitis year round but this day I decided to go to the ER, the only looked at the symptoms which brought me there which was my headache and the pressure. They gave me flonase and saod to take sudafed. Its the fourth day and I can breath but I noticed on the back of my tongue red dots, like enlarged and the back of it looks dry. Its hard to swallow right now. I can breath fine just that everytime I breath, I can feel the back of my throat.
Avatar f tn I went to the urgent care on tuesday and they prescribed me flonase, z pack and tylenol and claratin. He said if it doesnt show any sign of clearing up in a couple days I should consider going to the hospital. Tomorrow is the 2nd day and its definitely not clearing up. Do you guys think this is something I should go to the hospital for? Is my baby sick too since I'm sick? By the way I'm 33+3 days.
Avatar f tn I had the prick testing done last year and am allergic to everything but horses and feathers. Sudafed does not cut it for me at all. It is possible you need a stronger med like Claritin combined with an antihistamine like Benadryl. I take both of those daily to help take the edge off my allergies. If not, I get a bugger of a sinus infection!. A question...is the itching/coughing worse when you lie down?
Avatar f tn Sudafed makes me sick i cant take it anything else. I saw on a mommy website nyquil/datquil is that true. And benedryl jusr knocks me out so i cant take that.. i have taken aleve cold n sinus before i found out i was pregnant. But was pregnant at the time i know now but not then.. thats all that really helps me. When im sick bc its a cold and sinus all together the pressure sometimes is to much to take.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I use plain Sudafed(no antihistimine in it) and plain Mucinex together when I am out of Mucinex D. Every time it takes 2-2 1/2 weeks to recover, but I am able to recover with no dr. visits. I have done this for a year now with good results. Now that I am well again, I am back on my zyrtec and regular medicine regiment.
Avatar f tn I am allergic to dust and still feel sick when im not around it unlike before. My mood has been greatlt effected and i feel weird mentally and tired and irritable because of it too. what should i do next?
612551 tn?1450022175 ve tried Flonase generic form and some other prescription nasal spry - too little help to be of value maybe no help. At first I thought the Flonase was helping after using for 10 days or so but if it did, it quit soon thereafter. As for the level of Coumadin/Warfarin, I get a coagulation blood test about every month and I am normally in range for an INR between 2 and 3.
579469 tn?1311705550 The steriod shot will help big time with the swelling of the nose for about 2 to 4 days, depends on the person. Flonase and all the steriod inhalers help so much and the doctor will definatly give you that. yeah and just like GoingTo MakeIt said the Afrin,4-way nose sprays, etc. will give you a rebound effect and thats why people get addicted to them....like me...everytime I get a cold or allergies. I can not stand having a severely stuffed nose.
Avatar n tn A year ago, after a cold, my ear was clogged for over a month affecting my hearing and my balance slightly --I saw my primary who prescribed flonase and spoke with a pulmonologist at worked who recommended sudafed (which is i think what finally cleared it). What do you think caused this "dizziness"? It was an awful and scary feeling. And/or what can I do to prevent it?
Avatar n tn I originally took claritin and thought things were slightly worse, so switched to sudafed and have been taking this roughly 2 or 3 times each day (2 pills, 60 mg total each time). 2. As I have a bit of a wait for to see an ENT, are there other recommendations besides just waiting it out? Should I consider going back and asking about steroid nasal sprays and/or the ear popper? I know you mentioned decongestants simply don't work.
7998970 tn?1435183202 You can take Tylenol pm tylenol and benedry. But DO NOT take the Tylenol together.
Avatar n tn I asked my pharmacist today because I have the same allergy issues - je said Lortadine OTC is perfectly safe (Claritin) just NO Sudafed or Psuedaphedrine (Claritin D or Allegra D). He also said my Flonase is safe. I take both on bad days, but I also diffuse OnGuard Essential Oil which helps tremendously as well. Hope that helps you!
Avatar f tn Is it safe to take sudafed while youre pregnant? Im 22 weeks and I just want to make sure its not going to hurt my little girl?
Avatar f tn My dr. ok just plain Sudafed.
Avatar f tn I've been sick off and on a lot with my sinuses my ob told me to take sudafed so I'm taking the nasal decongestant sudafed that the pharmacy said was safe. My concern is I haven't heard good things about taking it anyone else taking it and everything turned out ok with their baby? 29weeks tomorrow also.
