Common Questions and Answers about Flonase and snoring

Avatar f tn I went to the ENT today. He told me I have a deviated septum, a narrow passage and a lot of congestion. He told me that Flonase and nasal sprays won't help me much. He wants me to do a sleep study. He asked if I feel tired during the day or have headaches in the morning. Which I do sometimes. I do not want to wear a C-pap. I was told there was a surgery. Anyone know about it?
Avatar n tn The pediatrician has said her symptoms are from allergies so she has been on Zyrtec and Flonase for awhile now. That has helped in the past but for the last 4-5 months she is complaining of these symptoms even when she does not have a cold. He has also prescribed an inhaler that helps when she gets a bad coughing attack but she is still saying it is hard to breath in her throat. I am wondering if she has enlarged adnoids.
Avatar m tn I read an article in the San Francisco Chronicle about treatments for snoring and sleep apnea and I watched the snoring clinic's testimonials on YouTube as well (just search for the clinic's name). Hopefully that will help with your decision. The article is entitled, "Say Goodnight to Snoring with simple surgeries," . It goes in depth about some of the treatments now available in San Francisco medical clinic, http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?
Avatar n tn My father is suffering from some periodontal disease and has swollen and loose gums and he is using dental implants to get rid of it. He has a snoring problem and now showing some symptoms of sleep apnea as well. Are they related to periodontal diseases? We are planning to get an anti snoring device ( http://www.parkerhilldental.com/our-services/anti-snoring-appliances/ ) to control the snoring issue. Is it really effective? Would that enough to solve this issue?
Avatar m tn I used flonase for a week and got better with my cough and then I stopped. Afterwards my cough came back and I saw a doctor and he told me do not use flonase which makes me cough. I am confused?
Avatar m tn I've been snorting coke about 1-2 times a week over the past 6 weeks. Just a recently, my girlfriend complained that I had been snoring really loudly. I figured maybe my nose was plugged or something, but it has continued, and the research I've done points to coke usage as the cause. I didn't switch nostrils, but I never did more than .3 grams in a night (I would only do it on weekends). So my question is this: will the snoring stop? and if so, about how long will it take?
Avatar m tn I have a esophagus condition and was told to take flonase and spray 2 shots in my mouth twice a day. Flonase is a steroid and it helps with the inflammation. I had difficulty swallowing to the point of choking and passing out and this has helped me tremendously.
Avatar f tn t been feeling well. You can always call and ask your doctor these questions for guidance. Flonase is known to reduce nasal inflammation over time. The best thing is to blow your nose prior to using it and then wait as long as you possibly can before blowing your nose again. The longer you wait, the better chance the Flonase has of being absorbed into your nasal cavity. The most common recommendation is 15 to 30 minutes to wait to blow your nose after using. https://www.webmd.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?
Avatar n tn Hello. I have been experiencing moderate to severe postnasal drip and ringing in the ears. Moved to Chicago several years ago from Phoenix so the doctor suggested that I may be suffering from allergies as a result. Blood test confirmed grass allergy. Have been using Flonase (SP?) for about 1 month coupled with nasal rinsing system but still have the ringing and drainage. Should I be worried about another culprit besides allergies causing these awful symptoms??
Avatar n tn i kept getting dizzy and finally passed out and had to go to the ER and they said possible fluid in my ears. i have some sinus trouble but nothing ever like this before. They did a CT scan and told me it looked fine except he said sinus congestion and small retention cyst in my right Maxilliary sinus? They are sending me to a neurologist because of the intense pressure in my entire head but if it has anything to do with this cyst why not an ENT? could a cyst cause pressure and dizziness?
Avatar n tn I generally take Flonase. About a week ago the allergies and sinuses really got a hold of me and i had horrible sinus pressure, felt really spacey, had ear fullness and pain, felt a little off but no ear infection. I got put on a antibiotic. I then just started the Flonase back up. One day i felt short of breath off and on. I also took a Zyrtec. I almost went to the hospital because i felt bad and felt like my allergies/ sinuses were causing it. I also have anxiety.
Avatar m tn I recently had Turbinate reduction (August 14th), I have a cold head al the time, too much air flow and the worst problem is the dry mouth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a really hard time swallowing and eating!! The dry mouth wakes me up at night and then I can't get back to sleep! I've a very important job and MUST GET SLEEP!!! Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar n tn The upper airway resistance leads to snoring and resulting arousals during sleep. Use of sedative or alcohol and poor sleep hygiene also contribute to snoring. Patients predisposed to this disorder are generally overweight or obese and may have a short thick neck. Sleep apnea is associated with hypertension, diabetes and other cardiac abnormalities. Other conditions to rule out may be sleep deprivation, depression, narcolepsy, medications and hypothyroidism.
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar m tn I know that many cold remedies have Phenedrine and/or other stimlulants and I am wondering if any Afib patients out there take Nasonex or Flonase wihtout any problems.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.

1903798 tn?1333905288 Hmmm that is a interesting question...I did snore b4 and I continue to snore post op...but not like I did, and I was checked for sleep apnea... It can be an obstruction causing it that shifted as a result of the surgery...I do not mean the cerebral tonsils, but something else ...mayb the tonsils in ur throat,...I had mine out in the 2nd grade my parents were concerned with my mouth breathing....and I have always wondered if it was chiari related. I also had my adenoids out at that time too.
