Flonase active ingredient

Common Questions and Answers about Flonase active ingredient

flovent

Avatar m tn I notice that the ingredient that in Flonase is the same (fluticasone propionate) as is found in Flovent.. It occurs to me that flonase might even work better because more of the stream of fluticasone propionate would hit the back of my throat and be swallowed, getting more to my esophagus and less to my mouth. The key point though is I can get flonase inexpensively, whereas the flovent is more than I can easily afford.

Avatar m tn He also has albuterol inhaler and Flonase. However, it does not work sometime like the last 2 nights. The flonase really made it worst so I stop. He has this about a year off and on, but worse when the weather change.I have air filter and huminifier at home as well. Myself, I started having sinus issue only recently about 2-3 years. I have post nasal drop 2-3x per week. Sometime mild and sometime very bad.
572651 tn?1530999357 Lu - A quote from the same article you cite here: "But they also pointed out that Fumaderm, as well as a compounded product known as Psorinovo -- involved in one of the NEJM reports -- contained other active ingredients, and the patients had additional "significant confounding factors" as well" "One patient in the Netherlands and another in Germany developed PML after several years of treatment with European formulations of the drug, long available as psoriasis treatme
6712392 tn?1393708678 it depends on what the active ingredient is. Anything from the retinoid (its a type of active ingredient) family is a huge no-no!
Avatar m tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-side-effects-drug-center.htm - which is probably why your doctor said to stop using it. If your cough got better using it, maybe it was helping some allergy symptoms, like post-nasal drip. Did you ask your doctor what he meant, or try to clarify anything? Always feel free to ask questions and clarify anything you don't understand with your doctor.

Avatar n tn There are products being sold that often contain a fraction of the active ingredient or they use a lot of filler in place of the active ingredient, which has no medicinal value at all.
Avatar f tn Scary stuff to be putting in your body.Mothballs are nearly 100% active ingredient, and the active ingredient may be either naphthalene or paradichlorobenzene. Naphthalene is an aromatic hydrocarbon found in coal car or crude oil. Most products containing naphthalene in the U.S. are used to control clothes moths in airtight containers. Paradichlorobenzene is a chlorinated aromatic hydrocarbon. It is a fumigant insecticide and repellent.
Avatar m tn Did the doc suggest trying occasional antihistamines. He can also give you a prescription for cortisone nose spray like flonase. You could get some allergy tests, could be allergic to something, like pet hair. Keep yourself from breathing in cold air also, could make it worse. Try vicks rub on your throat also and get those tests and talk more to the doc for more referrals for allergist and prescriptions if it doesn't get better soon. If you have pets, might be pet dander.
Avatar n tn //www.rxlist.com/flonase-drug.htm. Is this prescribed to decreases swelling or to attend to the sinus issue contributing to the swelling?

Avatar n tn Twice in the last six months using Flonase my mouth filled with blood from sinuses. Is another medication for sinusitis available?
Avatar m tn I've had an upper respiratory infection for about a week. Went to the doctor this morning with severe ear pain, no infection, just inflammation due to the other infection. Was recommended Flonase, rest, and fluids. After I came home and took the Flonase I've had this really weird fizzing sensation off and on at the back of my throat all day. It feels like a handful of poprocks are at the top of my throat/back of my mouth. It's a really weird suggestion.
Avatar f tn I'm also taking Fluticasone Propionate and have the very same issue. I think it's because the nasal spray dries out the nasal cavity. At first, I started having bloody noses, but then that stopped and this current symptom started. My doctor had said it may make the nose very dry and to try saline solution once daily after the Flonase. I have yet to do that, but it's supposed to help. Hope that helps.
Avatar m tn I'm 22 male, active and have real high Bp (i guess heriditary) but I'm hoping to get this under control soon with my meds(hydrochloric thiazides, amlodipine) but this started before treatment ... I've had pressure above my nose for over a month now and a weird feeling in the back of my head (spaced out/dizzy kinda feeling) its stronger sometimes then others but is constantly around I recently had a brain/head ct scan and they said all was normal...
Avatar n tn s unfortunate when medication costs so much sometimes that we have to find an alternative. Flonase and Astepro are likely the right names. Flonase is a corticosteroid spray and Astepro is an antihistamine spray. Dymista is a combination medication so it makes sense that the doctor is suggesting the two medications will work as the Dymista did. Let us know how it goes.
Avatar n tn I had a fungal infection on my skin that I treated with the active ingredient in jock itch cream, and it did almost nothing. I switched to the one for athlete's foot, with a different active ingredient, and that worked a charm. Here's a list of some of the common anti-fungals: https://www.nhs.
Avatar n tn Orlistat (active ingredient in Xenical) is also the active ingredient used in the weight loss aid - Alli, which is the first OTC weight loss aid, approved by FDA as safe and effective for weight loss. It does work and so far, seems to be safe. It works by blocking fat absorption. There are some unpleasant side effects if you don't eat properly, which is mainly avoiding fat. The main side effect is uncontrollable, oily, runny stools, if too much fat is consumed.
Avatar n tn Hi, some stool softeners are safe for kitties. In fact, my vet has my kitty on Docusate Sodium. That's the active ingredient in Colace and some other brands. Take a look at the medicine bottle and if that's the only ingredient you see.....then I promise you...kitty will be fine. BTW, I've had the liquigel melt in my cats mouth(apparently, I didn't get it down her throat all the way).....and she did that salivating, too. She was not a happy camper in the least.
Avatar f tn I use unisom sleep tabs. I've taken them since the very beginning and I'm now 38 weeks. The active ingredient is doxylamine. Just check the box because unisom also has a kind with diphenhydramine as the active ingredient and that's just benadryl and doesn't work as well. The doxylamine is actually commonly paired with b6 for morning sickness as well. I have had barely any nausea issues since I've been taking it. It works well!
Avatar m tn Levothyroxine is the generic name; Synthroid is a brand name. Both contain the same medication (active ingredient), but can vary in the fillers (inactive ingredients).
Avatar f tn The folliculitis is limited to the scalp only. I am real curious about the Flonase use ,but also read of a connection toi high tryglycerides, which I do have a problem with. No test have been done, saw family physician, she only suggested a dandruff shampoo. I have been using T- Gel and Demerex.
