Common Questions and Answers about Flomax vs generic

flomax

Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn Calcium is my basic problem with forming numerous stones too. Over the past 30 plus years I have tried drinking the lemon water too and it didn't help one little bit. Also tried cranberry juice with the same result. What I have been doing and it has helped a bunch so far is NOT drinking tap water and only drinking bottled water. This spring, I passed 3 years without having a stone, which for me is great! I used to get one or more a year.
Avatar n tn I can only tell you what I've been told over the years I've dealt with kidney stones. Drink plenty of water daily and make sure that your urine stays clear in color when you urinate. When you think you're drinking enough water, then drink another 8 oz glass of it. Additionally, recently I've started taking Flomax (generic version) on a daily basis.
Avatar f tn The generic doesn't seem to work as well for a lot of people. My endo also feels the same way, that brand name is good and generic stay away from.
Avatar n tn I take synthroid and was wondering if the generic is just as good? Someone told me to never take the generic so I pay extra for the name brand. TIA!
535882 tn?1396576685 I would never change to a generic brand as I have been told by my Doctor that the generic contains a lot of fillers, the main one being talcum powder.
Avatar f tn s a tad more complicated than is appropriate for this forum) There has been a VERY long lived debate about the efficacy of generic vs brand name meds. For most people, they seem to be able to use either interchangeably with little or no difference in the effectiveness. For other people, they report a BIG difference in the effectiveness of the generic and have to stick with a brand name, sometimes even a specific brand name. Some meds have more of a reputation for this than others.
Avatar m tn I was on it for about six years (first three on brand name - there was no generic yet) then on generic and it stopped working (unrelated situation). However, as you mentioned above, the only thing consistent between generics is the active ingredients, every generic has a different mix of inactive and binding agents. If you can afford it, brand name is great, but if not, there are many different companies that make generic sertraline now, so one bad generic doesn't mean all are bad.
Avatar f tn I just started the generic Cytomel yesterday so it's too soon to tell a difference, but I talked to a pharmacist and was told that if you're starting on generic you should be fine. People who took the brand name and then switched to generic may have a little problem. From what I've read, the medicine is the same between brand and generic, but the dosing might be slightly different.
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
Avatar n tn I agree that there is debate over the use of generic vs brand name. I actually did better on generic levo than I did synthroid, but everyone is different.
Avatar f tn The Lexapro is so darn expensive, even with insurance $70/month!! Paxil has a generic so it should be cheaper but is it just as good? Anybody tried both and can compare? Side effects of the Paxil similar to Lex?
Avatar m tn While taking Flomax or Proscar, does this have an effect on getting HARD.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I was given cipro and Flomax for pelvic pain and a UTI. the pain was through the whole pelvis and also individual veins or spermatic cord. does Flomax permanently shrink your prostate or reduce testosterone levels? I read one forum where people where saying they had a permanent loss of strength, could not throw the discus as far?
Avatar n tn I can share with you what my endo told me. He is not impressed by the generic levothyroxine. He stated the generic is often manufactured in places like India where the potency range only has to fall between 30-60% effective to be accepted, whereas when Synthroid is manufactured in the USA, its potency has to be 60-95% effective. The generic is often bought from India because it can be bought for pounds of meds on the dollar, whereas in the US it is ounces on the dollar.
665125 tn?1273023924 There's a thread on page one called Synthroid vs. Natural Hormones you might want to look at.
Avatar f tn If you go to good RX it does not list a generic for Levoxyl. Synthroid of course is levothyroxin as it’s generic. There Hass to be a difference between the two drugs, I was told to get off the medication and have awful insomnia when I was trying to switch between the two and had a dose increase and I’m highly sensitive to medications in general.
Avatar m tn Flomax can reduce the amouht of seman that you produce. It would be unusual though to have this production reduced down to zero unless the man was ejaculating very often. In general terms Flomax is a useful medication with very few side-effects..
1107393 tn?1263417738 Is there a differance between Synthroid and Levothyroixine? Is one a generic of the other? Which one is best? I was told that Synthyroid was better but more expensive that levothyroxine. Thanks for any input. I am a newbee.
Avatar f tn I had a conversation with the Pharmicist I go to (I really trust her) and I asked about the brand vs. the generic,as I'd done a lot of reading here about it and was a little concerned. She said that that used to be true, that there were differences in the past. But she was adament that now the generics are subject to the same stringent rules, regulations, and inspections by the FDA as the name brands and that there is absolutely no need for concern on this subject.
Avatar n tn , where normal for him means slow urination due to long standing BHP, but not as slow, painful, and dribbling as with Flomax. We are just guessing that the way Flomax works by relaxing muscles is causing these effects. (Could the enlarged prostate end up pressing even more on muscles?? I realize these are just guesses: I have looked at a lot of medical sites, but this does not look like to be listed as a side effect!
