Common Questions and Answers about Flomax low blood pressure

flomax

Avatar n tn He takes 5 mg blood pressure med and he takes Flomax daily. When he first started taking Flomax; which he needs to be able to urinate or as he says to keep his plumbing working, anyway, he would have dizzy spells. His doctor said this was normal, a side effect of Flomax. But now lately he has been passing out; I think that is unusual for any medication and I'm worried there may be something else going on.
Avatar m tn it doesn't seem to be a great drug since it lowers blood pressure too much, I almost fainted on losartan and flomax. Is it true it permenently exhausts you and causes muscle weakness?
Avatar m tn My only issue is low flow which is less pressure. I tried Flomax for 2 weeks but no improvement. By the way I did a cystoscopy 2 years ago for the same issue. That doctor could not find any clue. I shared the report with the new doctor. So thats why I'm wondering why I needed to repeat this.
Avatar m tn Trying to avoid the surgery. Have been given Flomax, but afraid to use because I already have low blood pressure and am a woman. It's not approved by the FDA for use in women. Did you have side side effects from the Flomax? And how was the stent? That scares me. Thanks!
Avatar m tn My dad took Flomax, and definitely had the dizziness issue, which is a result of blood pressure changes. He was 30+ years older than you, and had prostate cancer, so your experience may be very different. I don't know if you have prostatitis or BPH, or both - https://www.healthline.com/health/enlarged-prostate/prostatitis-and-bph That's up to the doctors. Has anyone been able to examine you or do any blood work or anything?
Avatar f tn He can either go through the cataract surgery now (despite the slight increased risk from the flomax) and not need the LPI or have LPI done now (very low risk procedure) and wait till whenever he wants to have cataract surgery. Just because his pressures are normal now doesn't mean he won't have a glaucoma attack which could be devastating for vision. I would not ignore this even in the short run.
Avatar m tn He was using a old polar with a chest strap. I had taken xanax in the morning to reduce my blood pressure though. I also take flomax (for BPH). Was I dehydrated? Did the xanax cut off my oxygen and cause my heart to race up quickly? I went home and later in the day, used my owen polar with chest strap and simulated the test, and at 3 minutes was only at 104! The company will give me a retest. Any comments, did I screw myself over by taking xanax?
Avatar m tn An episode of painless gross hematuria. march 11: CAT Scan reveals “ 3 mm. distal right ureteral calculus just proximal to the UVJ causing minimal fullness of the right ureter.” Ever since: new symptoms -- pressure in the lower abdomen (pelvis and groin) and right side of what feels like bottom part of urinary tract, more uncomfortable when I stand (gravity?), and a constant urge to urinate (I am drinking more than 2 liters of water daily to try flush the stone).
Avatar m tn I did not associate it with flomax until recently. Is it harmful if I stop taking the flomax and is this the cause of my retro? This discussion is related to Retrograde Ejaculation from Flomax......permanent or not?.
1580703 tn?1651904887 if you google Flomax forum there's a discus thrower who reported loss of strength on it. my left eye which was going blind from bell's is now weaker.

12182312 tn?1427683956 ve learned about blood pressure about the past year though that 112 / 70 is not too low and some might even say it's ideal to have those numbers. You can always ask your doctor for more information but as I understand, unless your numbers go below 80 / 50 or you're fainting your blood pressure is not too low. Good luck!
Avatar f tn t give me anything they just want to check me sooner and if my blood pressure is still low they will take me for a c section that day ! I told him I've been feeling really tired and weak lately, he said if it keeps on going or gets worse to call him ASAP !
Avatar f tn (Laying on your back during pregnancy compresses a blood vessel that causes your blood pressure to drop) This happens so often, it has me worried. What can i do to raise my blood pressure? It makes me so tired when i have these "episodes". I lay on my left side when it happens, to get my blood circulating better, and I've even tried elevating my legs above my heart. I also drink plenty of water, and I've even increased my intake recently. What can i do? And is it bad for baby?
Avatar f tn I have low blood pressure to. The doctor didn't seem worried. They told me to eat protein foods and salty foods! My sister had had low pressure with all her babies and they are all healthy! Good luck!

Avatar n tn s and have been on Synthroid 50 mcg for three months now. I have recently gotten a home blood pressure monitor to keep a check on my blood pressure. I was always pretty normal in that area - about 120/80 at the drs. office. Pretty often when I check my bp it's low. This morning it was 88/66. I have checked it when going from a prone position to standing and it goes up, not down. Could the low bp be from the Hashimoto's? If so, shouldn't it be getting better?
Avatar f tn we all know the dangers of high blood pressure when carrying a baby. but is low blood pressure a problem too? i found out that my feeling faint and nearly passing out is due to this rapid drop in my blood pressure. i'm 36w4d and this is happening more and more often. should i be worried as i've not got long to go? please please help.
