flexibility

Avatar n tn If you can comfortably sleep on your side bend your knees up to release the stress on your lower back, or just rest in this position when it has been bothering you. After you've played football, it seems like you need to take the time to properly stretch-out those muscles as it sounds like post-game you're muscles are cooling down and spasming.
Avatar m tn I am a distance runner that had a left side inguinal surgery last April. After a two month recovery, I started running again. I've never really run correctly in the past year. Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving.
Avatar f tn I'm 18 weeks 4 days pregnant with baby boy #2 and I've been having some pain in my lower abdomen. My baby is still moving around as usual so I'm pretty sure its growing pains. I was wondering if any of you ladies have had these growing pains and how long (hours, days) it lasted?
963284 tn?1247497327 after your lower back procedure, did you get lower back flexibility relief, if so how long?? Trying to get a sense if I got the most out of my surgery alreadt or if things will continue to improve. Walking and streatchign really dont help, just sitting in ftiff chairs and laying on beds, the flat floor gave me relief before surgery but not now.
400099 tn?1282954864 My only caution would be, if you have lower back issues, certain yoga positions and movements can aggravate the lower back. If you do have back issues, you will know what to avoid just by seeing the position. Yoga is a great way to gain strength and flexibility. Let us know how it goes for you.
Avatar m tn I have lower back upper buttocks pain that starts with a burning that gradually increases to a painful burning. It hurts only when I'm sitting, and when at its most painful gives me a feeling like my butt cheeks are being pryed apart and I'm sitting on bone. I went to a doctor and was told it is not Sciatica, and that it is a muscle issue and that stretching therapy to improve my flexibility in my hamstrings, and strengthin my core will help rectify the problem.
Avatar m tn I have been sore right around both of my gluteus Maximus muscles since December. The muscle is very tight and seems to be restricting the movement of my lower lumbar. It's uncomfortable to sit even for short periods of time as there is a dull pain from my glutes down the back of my legs. I have been to a spinal PT and I temporarily felt better but not much. He focused only on my spine and said my movement was very limited for a 27 year old.
Avatar m tn Recently, I have been having lower back pains, generally wakes me around 4 or 5 in the morning, bed is good standard mattress, I generally just get up, within 20 minutes pain is a lot less troublesome, could this be linked to MS, my last MRI scan (brain) should no word0sening of lesions, however a full body scan was not taken, so unclear if spinal lesions were any worse, at the last review (Dec 16) I did not really have any major pain or back issue, hope my question is clear, should I get this
Avatar n tn Swimming/Water Aerobics, stationary bike, walking, Core strengthening exercises will not only tone up your stomach muscles but can also help to relieve back pain. Strong abs help support the back during any lifting or bending activities as well as walking. The plank exercise will strengthen the abs as well as your shoulders, chest and even make you sweat if you hold it long enough or add some lifting arm movements. Have you considered taking a Yoga class?
Avatar m tn In the last 5 years I have realized that I get lower back, hip and leg pain. But here is the funny part...It only happens if I have gone without a workout for a week or two. Initially I thought it's not so bad, because it forced me to get back in the gym if I have been lazy for a while. But recently the amount of "off time" required to bring on the pain is decreasing. It's getting to the point that I literally cannot miss a single training session.
Avatar f tn m normally very active and have been for my entire life, I do heavy weight lifting and also have some injuries (ruptured discs in lower back, tailbone pain, and obvious anterior pelvic tilt). All of my muscles are very stiff and inflexible and are very tight and sore deep in the muscle. I sometimes feel spasms all over in my muscles.
Avatar n tn I have had constant, dull pain in my lower back and inner thigh for about a week following my period. It is very difficult to sleep because the ache is worse when I am laying down, and keeping my leg elevated does not help. Having a hot bath provides temporary relief. I have noticed I've lost considerable flexibility over the last 9 months also. I'm 31, my existing health condition is PCOS and I have a history of hyperthyroidism.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.

Avatar f tn Losing as few pounds can cut the risk of developing knee osteoarthritis by 50% for some women. Although OA typically affects the knees, your hips, hands, lower back, and neck may also be affected. Always ask your doctor before doing any exercise! Warming up with gentle stretching can help get your body ready for your workout. Gentle stretches such as side bends, shoulder shrugs, arm circles, overhead stretches, and bending to reach (but not touch) your toes are all good warm-up exercises.
Avatar m tn my son was in back seat of car...he was looking back and noticed car coming....tried to turn back forward and while twisted position drunk driver rear ended car...he went to quick car couple days later....took xray and shuffled up off to pt....the xray showed whiplash...pt did evaluation and said he has two postions on lower pack where the five nerves are not moving property down the leg....
Avatar f tn Were you doing yoga before you got pregnant? I'm interested to know how much it differs...if it is worth going to a specific prenatal class or just modifying a normal class. Need to get my yoga on again! Just don't want to have to drive across the city when a studio is a few mins away from home.
Avatar f tn Some docs offices don't close on that particular holiday. Check with yours. There is a little wiggle room, but mostly they like to keep things on schedule since it's easier to schedule patients consistent on a particular day rather than randomly. You could do chemo on Thursdays as an alternative. I did mine on Thursday afternoons so I had more than plenty of time to "bounce" back by Monday. Hopefully you'll have as good a time with the chemo as I did...

Avatar f tn Hi, everyone. I have crunching and grinding in my lower back. I can hear it as well as feel it. I feel severe pressure and deep pain underneath the crunching in my lower back. This is a recent issue as I have not had time to Andreas my physician just yet. This problem is very concerning and alarming for me. Has anyone had similar problems, or perhaps know what this may be caused from? Please advise, thank you and God Bless.
