Avatar m tn Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.

Avatar m tn I used to be in gymnastics and I got injured by bending too far forward while doing stretches. Now, 5 years later, my lower back hurts and it hurts to touch the place where the first or second bones are from the bottom. I've tried physical therapy and there I learned exercises that help relieve the pain temporarily. Is this lower back strain or something more serious? Is it a ligament that has been stretched too far? I'm afraid I might have damaged the spinal cord.

My lower back pain could be the result of my regular exercises in past as I used to do gymnastics but now the pain in the upper region has surprised me a lot. I don't know if it's just because of the unusual sleeping patterns or something else. I would reallly appreciate it if you can give me a hint about it being just a regular pain or a symptom to some kind of disease. Thank you.

The exercises concentrate on spinal and pelvic alignment and breathing that helps in strengthening the body's centre. Avatar f tn Put your right hand behind your back up between your shoulder blades. Lean your head to the right as far as you can with your ear toward your shoulder. Try to keep looking forward as you do this. Hold for a count of 20. Do the same with the left arm and lean to the left side. Do this about 5 times on each side. You can feel it stretching but its not painful. Sometimes, it feels good to me to slightly push my ear toward my shoulder by putting a little pressure on my head with my opposite hand.
Avatar f tn You should also vary your exercise. Once your body becomes used to certain exercises, it comes to expect that amount of exercise and it's no longer a challenge. If you're doing your gymnastics, daily, try adding other exercise with it, that you aren't used to doing. Enlist the help of your parents to make sure you're eating healthy meals and getting enough rest.
Avatar m tn I stopped running but kept the job. It improved. I tried eliptical after two weeks off and at the end of the work week I was back to severe pain. I am working on strengthening my glutes and hip abductors. Strangely enough ice seems to make it immediately worse. So my cardio has to stop if I am going to keep my job. I have good insurance but good doctors often seem to fall short of helping me with several problems. Ibam a 40 year old male. I have not smoked in 5 years. I seldom drink.
Avatar f tn so i went to my chiropractor and she thinks that i sprained it, so i laid off for a week and i thought it was all better so i went back to the gym and swung on the the gymnastics bar and all my pain came back! It also felt like my lower part of my back was seperating from my upper back. I keep going back to my chiroprator, and she just adjusts me and sometimes i get accupunture done on it. BUT THE PAIN WILL NOT GO AWAY!

Avatar m tn Hi, im 13 years old and iv'e recently started gymnastics. My back is very sore and whenever i bend my back or try to move it. I have very good posture, but im not convinced that it is a bulging disc because my back isn't very flexible at the moment. I am concerned because im just 13. I am hoping that it will go away because iv'e had it before and after a day or two it goes away. Iv'e always had a problem with my back but previous doctors gave me gels and lotions to soothe it.
