Avatar m tn I still suffer from excruciating cramp in my feet. Over the last 2 years I have built up the muscles in my feet and have increased flexibility with daily stretches and exercises but still suffer from painful cramp in my arches and toes. It seems to occur when my toes are pointed for long periods of time as I tend to tense my feet quite hard.
Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
Avatar n tn My 80 year old mother had TKR surgery last week. She says when she stands or sits for any length of time, her foot hurts and she must lay down to relieve the pain. The doctor said this is typical because of blood rushing to the foot and recommended putting the support sock on. Has anyone else experienced this? Everyone is impressed with her flexibility and she's doing her exercises regularly but this pain has really gotten her concerned and regrets getting the surgery.
Avatar m tn There was no need for any chemo or radiation since the tumor was well encapsulated. He engaged in all follow up tests and recent routine tests were all normal except his abdominal CT Scan showed some swelling in his bladder lining. All urine tests were normal - no signs of blood or infection...no sense of urgency to urinate or anything else unusual.
Avatar m tn Hi Brad, I agree with nickppatel re the leg activity in water polo. I played water polo for 6 years in my late teens to early twenties (then joined the military) and I have a full understanding on the amount of leg work required just to play water polo, let alone being the goalie.

Avatar f tn I have a problem with chronic pain in my left shin and have had bouts with plantar fastitis. Suddenly by shoe inserts to support my high arches feel awful. What are the right exercises and what else can I do?
700000 tn?1231287536 The only problem I have is that it is kind of a bummer in that without the flexibility in my wrist, some of my basketball and martial arts activities that I participate in currently are limited. I still live a normal life as an engineer and go to the gym 5 - 6 times per week and never feel any pain except on REALLY cold days. I recently landscaped my backyard with no problems. As far as flexibility, I was barely able to do a flat handed push up 3 years ago. I am 30 years old currently.
Avatar f tn My daughter is 25 now, and 5 years ago she broke her femur and had a titanium rod put in her leg. She's doing fine, and now she's taking tae kwando classes. She is not sure, however, if she should push herself to do kicks, etc., or to be careful not to put too much strain on her hip. She's not sure if she can increase her flexibility by pushing herself, or if she could do herself harm. How can she tell what could be helpful as opposed to what might to damage?
Avatar f tn I also applaud Annette Peterson's efforts. I think it is awesome that this center is not only going to benefit people who have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, but it will also benefit people with fibromyalgia, autism, atypical MS and if I remember right... multiple chemical sensitivities as well. For everyone here, please remember that this institute has already come up with a blood test to diagnose CFS.
Avatar f tn Can you be more detailed in what you mean? Abuse in what way? What kind of emergency? If you're saying she's dangerous and your life is in jeopardy, then you need to get away from her. We don't know what country you're in, but if this is the case it's the time for friends or other family members or gov't organizations or non-profit organizations that help people in immediate jeopardy.

Avatar m tn “Many, if not all, of the large AIDS organizations are in bed with the pharmaceutical industry. The executives of these non-profit organizations may get very handsome salaries, or other benefits, from Big Pharma. These organizations persecute and lie about effective treatments for AIDS so that Big Pharma can make many billions of dollars from the insurance of AIDS patients. A similar situation exists in the cancer industry.

Avatar m tn I am a distance runner that had a left side inguinal surgery last April. After a two month recovery, I started running again. I've never really run correctly in the past year. Working with a chiropractor, I got a hip flexor malady adjusted; the PT said I needed to work on flexibility. My left leg kind of 'hangs/float' and doesn't extend out normally. I feel it even when I'm walking. The odd part is that I can't really self-correct it with mental striving.

Avatar n tn Take a look at this article: http://www.jpeds.com/article/S0022-3476(99)70173-3/abstract Unfortunately, without journal access through a university/medical library, the full text costs $$, but google scholar caught this glimpse from it: "Several recent investigations have also identified a high prevalence of orthostatic intolerance among those with fibromyalgia. ...
