Common Questions and Answers about Loss of flexibility in neck

flexibility

Avatar m tn I have flexibility issues in almost all of my joints (Knees, elbow, wrist, ankle). Coincidentally, all the joints in the right side of my body are worse. I cannot squat as the back of my feet cannot touch my butt, my hand cannot touch my shoulder, cannot do pushup as wrist will hurt a lot. I have done xrays but doctor said my xrays are fine. Went through physiotherapy but joints flexibility does not improve no matter how much i stretched.
1734735 tn?1413778071 I do neck stretching like this as part of my morning wake up routine. I'm not sure it builds neck strength so much as it increases muscle flexibiilty and thus redces the risk of injury to the neck muscles. It has made me more comfortable with less neck strain, but has had no impact, positive or negative, on my Lhermitte's.
192055 tn?1263555537 I had sternoclavicular joint repair in March of last year. My surgeon took my front neck muscle and wrapped it around my collarbone and breast bone to make it a stable joint. Well, the last few months I have been having a lot of neck pain mainly and some pain at the joint. My previous surgeon didn't want to use bolts since it would make it a fixed joint (there is suppose to be a little play) so I would lose some flexibility.

Avatar f tn I come home at 9pm 5 days ago and couldn't turn my neck. I have been having neck pain recently and just found it annoying. I got onto the sofa layed on my back but stressed my neck right over so it didn't hurt leaning on the same side (left) when I woke up an hour later I could only see out of my right eye. This lasted just seconds possible 5. The sight came back pixelated I believe after moving position and having my head straight. My arm had pins and needles but I was leant on it.
Avatar m tn The visibility of pulsating arteries depends on the amount of tissue that surrounds the artery, the flexibility of the artery, the blood pressure... You probably are a young lean person? Have your blood pressure checked to be sure that it is in the normal range. If this is the case, then this is really nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn Thanks for replying. I'll check with my doctor's office. I'm scheduled to have 4 rounds of cytoxan and taxotere. Hopefully I'll have a pretty decent time of it!
Avatar m tn htm “Try massaging the various muscles that may be involved. Probe all of the muscles of the face, shoulders, and back of the neck. (Avoid the area around the throat.) Press on the muscles to identify extremely painful points. Massage the painful spot with hard, slow, short strokes. Do this several times a day until the muscle is no longer painful when pressed.
Avatar m tn I have returned to gymnastics after 3 years out and find that I get severe cramp in the arches of my feet. It seems to occur if I point my toes too hard and for long periods of time. My feet don't seem to be as flexible as they used to be as I used to have a much better toe point before. As I have to train in barefeet, I've also noticed that they can get quite cold sometimes. Can anyone help?
Avatar n tn Then two weeks later he removed the back of my neck and installed rods from C3 thru T2 in the back of my neck. This new surgeon told me on my first visit with him, (I want to apologize for the medical system and what it has done to you, no one should have had that many surgeries and this should have been to put bed a long time ago) and asked if I was ready.
Avatar n tn I have a bulging L5 - S1 that has been causing problems for just over a year now. I've had 4 epidurals, and have been taking pain pills daily. About 6 month ago I started getting really bad upper back spasms, I had an MRI, CT Scan, and Ultra Sound that all came back clear. I got another epidural about a month ago and the back spasms went away (they are starting to come back as the epidural is wearing off).
Avatar f tn do any of you experience constant popping in your neck? I have contined to have neck and shoulder pain daily, some days worse than others.....but my neck started popping about 2 months ago and hasn't stopped. No matter how slightly I move me head it pops.
192055 tn?1263555537 The doctor took my thin neck muscle in the front (the two muscles you can see in the front of your neck) and tied my collarbone down to my rib to make it a stable joint. The surgery was successful, my joint has been stable for a year and a half now. Ever since my surgery, I have been in a lot of pain. I still have pain every day in my neck/shoulder region and where the thin muscle ties to my collarbone. The doctor did not want to use bolts and plates since I would lose some flexibility.
Avatar f tn One doctor told me he saw two vertabrae that were fused, and the other said he didnt see anything like that. Meanwhile, I am running out of sick time at work and am in alot of pain. Does anyone have symptons like this, or any suggestions???
7002065 tn?1443073614 There are papers regarding experiments with PLX3397 to remove the CNS microglia population, and the results are strongly implicating that the loss of microglia is providing functional recovery of memory, cognitive abilities and extinguishing neuroinflammation (cytokine levels get dramatically altered) plus, the wiped out microglia cells repopulate the entire CNS within 7 days after drug withdrawal!
Avatar n tn Then about a month ago, I noticed the loss of range of motion seemed to be progressing faster … or maybe it was progressing at the same rate as before but because the loss of flexibility was now so much more and has started to become a nuisance, it just seems that way. Right now, I would say I have lost about 10” of range in terms of being able to reach back and up behind my back.
Avatar m tn I have one lump at the side of the neck...I asked my doctor and he said its a swollen lymph node and prescribed antibiotics...The course is finished but the lump is still there...It has not increased in size since a month..I had no signs of infections...My doctor said its nothing serious because i am just 13 and have no symptoms like night sweat or wight loss...Well i just got freaked out when i felt a lymph node one the other side of the swollen one...
Avatar n tn I am a 60 yr old female. In Sept of 2008 I got up in the morning and was unable to hold anything in my left hand. Initial diagnosis was "brain or neck tumor". Clear MRI's of head and neck, negative subsequent spinal tap, upper extremity arteriogram, TWO emg's, blood tests for lyme disease, lupus, ALS, syphillis, etc., rheumatoid arthritis. Joints of left hand have frozen now and are unbendable. Left radial nerve biopsied and shows nerve degeneration.
Avatar f tn This says back & neck forum, so here goes. To explain a little, the only Cervical vertabrae in my neck that doesn't have problems is C1-2. In the rest of them I have osteophytes, foraminal stenosis, cervical stenosis, bulging disc at C4-5causing impingment of the exiting left C4 nerve, fusion at C5-6 with cadaver bone, titanium plate and screws.Facet degenerative changes. In other words, my neck is toast, LOL.
Avatar f tn At that stage I was struggling to swallow, my breathing was laboured and I had very limited flexibility in my neck to turn my head. The physio used ice packs and massage and as I said, this has helped - but I was hoping to find some magic tip to speed up the process. Thanks for all the input - it helps to make me feel normal.
Avatar n tn But as long as I take them as perscribed I have a great amout of movment in my neck but I still have ddd in my back and pain and at this time no surgery is needed. But I do have a lot of pain in both mostly form mussles,as I'm sure you know all about. So I do under stand. As for you I would get a second opionion to see what they have to say, like will the things you will have to go through will be worth the pain and rehab you will have to go through.
Avatar f tn The more days you do this, the more flexibility the muscles in your neck will have. When I do them everyday, my pain is less and I have fewer headaches. Without some kind of stretching exercises, the muscles just keep tightening up. I tried to explain these the best I could. I hope it makes sense. Let me know if I confused you or if these help. Please, if it hurts, STOP! It should not be painful. You should just feel it stretch a little.
Avatar f tn I am suffering memory loss. Can a neck injury cause vision loss? , Can a fall cause vision loss in one eye? Also, Can a fall cause cataracts? Both eyes have similair size cataracts but only the right eye has a change of vision? I had no sign of cataracts at my last eye exam.
Avatar n tn I have disk desiccation and loss of disk space height. The three middle fingers of the right hand are numb and tingle.
