Has anyone used flaxseed oil for the 20g's of fat. I thought if I mixed it with a fruit smoothy it would be tolerable and I also found a flavored flaxseed oil but that was pretty expensive. but I wouls honestly consider taking your daughter off the Accutane. The side effects can be so horrible and are now related to a lot of gastrointestinal issues long term. My husband is a prime example...never had an upset stomach in his life and now all of a sudden he can't eat anything without tummy trouble and he's only 24. There are other options and unless absolutly NOTHING else has worked it is the last resort.

Is this documented that Accutane does cause premature epiphyseal closure? If so why is this drug being prescribed and why isn't this on the long list of side effects. My son was on this and he has not grown since, or while taking it. He was just past his 14th birthday when he took it. His acne was severe and it is also now back. It did clear up for a short time. He is only 5, 5.
I started typing in about accutane and growth and have come up with a long list of concerncs about growth.
And yes, it totally contradicts information published in previous studies. If I find it, I'll provide the name of the article and the journal so you can read it for yourselves.
