Common Questions and Answers about Fetal development third trimester

fetal-development

Avatar n tn If you break embryonic and fetal development into thirds then when you are in your 28th week the baby begins its final third of development. (Gestation is 266 days or 38 weeks of development). So either way you look at it you are in your 3rd trimester!
Avatar f tn Yes, I've read the same data. Several different articles. I haven't asked my dr either. When I went and got a massage last week my massage therapist said her midwife told her the same thing, one glass a day was okay. I'm still unsure myself. I had a friend who lived overseas and she said the women/people in Europe are more excepting of it. So, talk to your doctor but a few glasses in the third trimester will not have the baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome.
Avatar f tn No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
Avatar f tn Yes, fetal movements are normal, only slightly decreased. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow.
Avatar f tn That's not true dollface7 the baby never stops moving you just don't feel the movement regularly until 28 weeks
216278 tn?1308861082 I've posted this in the Pregnancy 35+ forum, as well...but thought afterwards, that this would be better since we're all at about the same place in our pregnancies... I'm trying to do the math on my pregnancy and this is going to sound ridiculous, but I don't really 'get' how far along I am...I mean, I know that I am 24 weeks and 2 days, but translating it...
Avatar n tn I had an anti abortion activist explain the theory of the breast cancer link, and I was wondering if you could give me some insight into these claims. They explained the types of lobules and their development. That throughout the first trimester, the number of Type 1 and Type 2 lobules rapidly increase, resulting in the breast having more sites for cancer to start. In the second trimester, the lobules start maturing into Type 4 lobules, which are cancer resistant.
Avatar f tn Development, Gestation, Conception. They give different dates for when the second trimester begins and for when the third trimester begins. Your health care provider might prefer to use the Development method, while another Midwife or Doctor may use the Gestation method. I am sure they do that just to confuse pregnant women. by Development: This uses actual developmental stages to divide up a pregnancy. From LMP to 12 weeks the embryo develops all the major organs and becomes a fetus.

800427 tn?1324945719 This method is where you take the 38 weeks of post conception development, divide by three, and add two weeks. Here the second trimester begins at 14w 5d and the third at 27w 3d. I think I'll go by Development..

Avatar n tn Bone structure starts in the first part of the second trimester. Its not at all uncommon for babies to not have bone structure in the first trimester. I would not be so hasty to terminate. Give it a couple months to see what progresses of the pregnancy!!!!!
Avatar f tn Im going in for an ultrasound at 34w. But only because i am high risk and to check the size of the baby.

Avatar f tn the first trimester is when the major development happens.
Avatar f tn The fetal heart undergoes a considerable amount of growth very early in pregnancy. The most critical period of its development is between three and seven weeks after fertilization, when a simple heart tube assumes the shape of a four-chambered heart. In fact, the heart actually begins beating by the 22nd day of life.

Avatar f tn Does it matter if the package it comes in tells you it is reccomended for third trimester use? I am trying to find one that I can use at home so my husband can hear the heartbeat. I already heard it at the doctors, and he hasnt been able to get the time off to come to my last appointment or my next one. I really want him to hear it, but I dont want to spend the money if it isnt even going to work until the third trimester.
Avatar f tn i think the fast heartbeat myth is for later in pregnancy, late second and third trimester. i heard if you're over 150 its a girl. not sure if its accurate since it depends on what the baby is doing. if its sleeping it will be low, if its active it will rise.
Avatar f tn Someone I know was leaarning fetal development in med school as I was going through my first trimester and I was told that was the most critical point in brain development. So my vote is no.
Avatar f tn Wow thank u very much!!!!! I appreciated..
Avatar f tn I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
