No its not especially in the first trimester. Rapid development of babies major organs, brain and spinal cord happen in the first trimester. I hear some women have a small glass while pregnant personally I wouldnt but if you were to you should wait at least until the middle of the second trimester. Ask your doctor. It is currently not recommended that any alcohol be taken in while pregnant since FAS (fetal alcohol syndrome) is not completely understood on when and how it all happens.
I personally think it's selfish and foolish to drink during pregnancy. Your putting your baby's health at risk and fetal development during the first trimester is crucial. Any alcohol use during pregnancy can result in a child being born with FASD. To me it's not worth the risks.
yes but they wait until your second trimester if at all possible because the first trimester is the most important for fetal development.
Someone I know was leaarning fetal development in med school as I was going through my first trimester and I was told that was the most critical point in brain development. So my vote is no.
I just got the results back from my 16 week blood screening and my risk has gone down to less than 1 in 3500! SO relieved! I just thought I'd share the great news. I also had another ultrasound down to make sure baby is developing properly and everything looks wonderful!
Well I asked my Dr and he said I beer or glass of wine a week in the first is fine and second trimester 2 a week and third you can have one glass of wine with dinner whenever... I went by those rules last pregnancy and my son is just fine but I know people freak out about all kinds of things so idk... It's up to you..
If you would read on fetal development you would know a fetus stops moving around it's 16th week and won't begin to move till you're in your third trimester.
How common it is for early ultrasounds to be off in the first trimester, and how much? Doc wants to do one more checkup. My dates don't work so we've spent the last couple weeks trying to determine how far along I am. If I go by last bleed as LMP, I should be 7 and 2, but yesterday's ultrasound showed the sac measuring 5 and 4, and just a hint of fetal pole. No clear pole or hb yet. I can tell you, From experience that a baby's heart is fully developed by week 18, which is why doctors do fetal echos between 18-24 weeks, it's the soonest they can visualize the heart without the bones getting in the way or "shadowing" it, and also the latest for them to detect holes and other issues.
There are many cases when a baby has a hole or two early on and as the baby grows and the heart continues to grow the holes close or get smaller on their own.

When I went and got a massage last week my massage therapist said her midwife told her the same thing, one glass a day was okay. I'm still unsure myself. I had a friend who lived overseas and she said the women/people in Europe are more excepting of it. So, talk to your doctor but a few glasses in the third trimester will not have the baby being born with fetal alcohol syndrome.

That throughout the first trimester, the number of Type 1 and Type 2 lobules rapidly increase, resulting in the breast having more sites for cancer to start. In the second trimester, the lobules start maturing into Type 4 lobules, which are cancer resistant.
