m 32wks and a FTM and my son has hiccups quite often and was wondering if its normal? I read somewhere that it could be a sign of the umbilical cord could be wrapped around the neck? It occurs after I eat sometimes and then sometimes he just gets them out of the blue. I am the type to worry a lot but im just wondering if anyone else's baby had hiccups a lot?
s when the umbilical cord abnormally inserts itself at the edge of placenta. It can cause stillbirth, placenta previa or abruption. Your most likely are going to deliver early via a c-section , however the baby is measuring small. I would only assume the doctor is waiting to deliver when she reaches over 2 pounds. I'm surprised your doctor hasn't explained this to you. If you have concerns call your OB and have him call you back so he could address your worries. Best of luck to you.
How do you know where the umbilical cord is? It moves all over, there is no way to tell where the umbilical cord is unless you have an ultrasound done, and there is no way to know if there is a h/b there without an ultrasound or a fetal doppler, and even then it could be your h/b, so I doubt you're pregnant.

the whole lifting things above your head isnt true the baby moving around in there sometimes causes them to get tangled with the umbilical cord, they can also make a knot in the umbilical cord which is also something to worry about. Unfortunately this is something out of our hands we can't cause it nor prevent it.
This is why you should keep track of your babies movements. if you feel even the slightest change in your babies behavior I'd go to the hospital better safe than sorry!!

subchorionic cyst is a placental cyst from the fetal side,as you know the placenta has 2 sides maternal and fetal side which is facing the fetus,any way its of no significance as i ve been told by my doctor and thats what i read in many sites also,but they added that if it attained large size or sited near umbilical cord insertion they may cause intrauterine growth restiction but this is not comman,any way i prefer you consult your obstetrician for assurance.

Im doing mine this week! Some of the things... no IV unless is necesary, no constant fetal monitor unless is necesary, I want to walk and move, no epidural, I want to eat and drink, I want to breastfeed right after delivery and I don't want them to cut the umbilical cord until the placenta is out or until the umbilical cord is pale and without a beat. ... I will cause some nurses a headache if they want to do what they want...
I understand the measuring. I'm more concerned about the umbilical cord. All of my records were paper copy and it says on them that it was recommended to have a repeat scan at 28 weeks to check to see if the umbilical cord had moved. I showed it to my new doctor and they said they weren't repeating it because it wasn't necessary.
There is a reason for this biologically. The foetal bladder was drained via the umbilical cord and umbilicus. It all developed from the same tissue in the embryo so that is why bladder pain is felt as referred pain to the belly button. If you press round the belly button you will find it doesn't increase the pain. There is no organic structure near or behind the belly button causing it. It is referred from the inflammed bladder because of the embryonic connection.
Accidents involving the umbilical cord may contribute to about 2 to 4 percent of stillbirths. These include a knot in the cord or abnormal placement of the cord into the placenta. These can deprive the fetus of oxygen.

My second and third were both induced best thing ever for me!!! It's interesting that it was becuase of induction that the umbilical cord was wrapped that can happen in any labor and delivery including c section. Dont be scared there are many perks to induction. Like rested staff and if you can relax rested parents.
So, at this stage you still have a yolk sac. I did the SAME thing! I didn't think we'd get another one. I'm 8 weeks today and this is the week we start using the umbilical cord. I'm sure you're just fine mama.
